"Earth to Merida what your thinking? " Repunzal asked.

"Nothing its just Mom is annoying me again" she anwsered.

"Oh" was all Repunzal said.

"Hey girls" Hiccup greeted.
"Hi Hiccup" both greeted in unison.

"So have you see Elsa?" He asked shyly.
"Why" Repunzal asked slyly smiling.

"Well I have a surprise for her" he said nervously glancing at Merida.

Merida was carelessly doodling in her notebook. She didn't look like she cared for the conversation.

"Well the last time, I saw her inthe library" Repunzal said and smiled.

"Thanks" he shouted before running towards the library.

"Good luck!!" Repunzal shouted back and smiled widely. She was the one who brought Hiccup and Elsa together. They looked so cute together.

"Punz gotta go" Merida said standing up.

"Wait!!" Repunzal stopped her.

"Can I ask you a question? " Repunzal asked nervously fiddling with her bag's strap.

"What?" Merida asked raising a eyebrow.
"Do you like Hiccup" Repunzal mumbled.

"I have to go" Merida said coldly, speed walking.

"Wait Mer, you didn't anwsered my question" Repunzal said grabbing her hand.

Merida huffed, maybe it was finally time to let it out. "I did but Astrid was dating him and then after he became all handsome and cool someone decided to set him up with my bestfriend cause she was also very pretty and they looked soo cute together" she said mimicking Repunzal.

"And now he has forgotten that we use to be friends. I was the person who was his friend when he was considered a loser, a loner. I am done with him" she finnished coldly stomping away.

" by the way I am not the only one who was hurt because of your pairing" was all she said before leaving a guilty Repunzal behind

Whole night Repunzal kept tossing and turning. Guilt had overwhelmed her. She had hurt one of her bestfriends while trying to make her cousin happy but who was the other person, she had hurt with her reckless actions? Repunzal had no idea. Inthe end she decided that she will make everything right again.

Next day

Repunzal decided to go to the college cafe and enjoy a nice cup coffee in this cold winter morning and think of a solution.

She looked around to spot any of her friends. Jack was sitting at the very back drinking ice tea. He looked deep in thought as he gazed out of the window.

"Mind if I join you?" Repunzal asked.
"Not at all Punz, I was getting bored anyway" Jack replied smiling.

"And by the way can you remind Eugene that he still owes me 20 dollars" he said grinning.

Repunzal laughed " I will make sure he pays back" she said.

They heard the cafe door open and fimiliar voice called " Goodmorning Punz" Elsa greeted entering the shop and joining them.

"Hi Els" Repunzal greeted
"Hello Elsa" Jack said grinning.

Elsa suddenly started feeling nervous, she always felt like this when Jack was around.

"Hi..hello Jack" she said smiling nervously.

He just smirked.

Oh god that smirk is to die for she thought.
You have Hiccup she mentally scolded herself.

The door opened to reveal a heavily panting Hiccup." Hi Elsa sorry I am late. You know Toothless" he said. Elsa just smiled at him.

Repunzal noticed a dark shadow pass through Jack's face when he saw Hiccup.

"Guys gotta go, I have to meet up with Merida" Jack said grabbing his stuff and running out of the cafe.

This time Repunzal noticed Hiccup scowling a little and Elsa looking a little sad. Suddenly it hit her.

I messed up big time Repunzal thought.

With Jack

"Remind me why are we doing this again?" Merida said painting the banner.

"Cause we are gonna fail chemistry if we dont" Jack anwsered and Merida groaned.

"Seriously Hicelsa is even ruining my grades," Jack said throwing the paint brush in frustration.

Before Hiccup and Elsa started dating. Merida used be lab parteners with Elsa and Jack with Hiccup. Elsa and Hiccup were the smart ones and Merida and Jack didn't even need to lift a finger to get good grades but since they started dating they switched pairs and Jack and Merida were failing chemistry ever since but the if they helped inthe decorations for the Valentines ball they would get enough cerdit to pass it.

"If it wasn't because of them I would still be sleeping right now" Merida said squeezing her paint brush in anger.

Bzzz bzzzz Jack's phone vibrated in his jeans pocket.

He took it out and read it. "Meet me with Merida inthe cafe. At 7 pm. Punz" he read aloud.

"Why does she want to meet us?" Merida asked.

Jack shrugged " I don't know" he said putting the phone back in his pocket.

Hiccup passed the gym, its doors were wide open. He peeked inside to see Jack and Merida laughing while painting the banner.

That should be me. I miss the old days but everything got ruined after I started dating Astrid. He thought .

The thing he didn't notice was that a girl with golden blonde hair was spying on him. Noticing his sad expression.

He sighed and walked pass the gym. "Hiccup" elsa cheered.

"Oh hi Els, sorry I am not in a mood to talk" he said going to the library.

"Oh ok" Elsa said heading to her English class.

She was the first person to arrive in class. Slowly students started filing in but not the particular person she wanted to see.

Finally that person arrived, his usual messy snow white hair had a streak of red in it.

"Hi Jack!! I saved a seat for you" she shouted. Jack looked surprised by her sudden approach to him but smiled and joined her at the back.

"What happened to your hair?" She asked.

Jack touched the red part and laughed. "Merida got angry when I called her a red head so she decided I should know how it feels to be like one" he explained and Elsa nodded feeling a pang of jealousy. She wanted to fool around with Jack. Hiccup was a little serious for these type of games and so was Elsa. She needed someone to loosen her up.

After class

"Best class ever!!" Elsa declared stepping out with Jack beside her chuckling.

Jack cracked jokes in class all the time. Elsa had never so much fun before in class.

"Glad you had fun but I better get going, you know making posters, banners" Jack said looking around.

"Who are you looking for" Elsa asked.

"Merida" he answered his eyes still wandering.

"I can help you if you want. I mean friends help each other" Elsa suggested.

Before Jack replied. Merida came running towards them and grabbed Jack's arm.

"Sorry I was late. Lets go" she said tugging on his arm.

"See you later Elsa" Jack said heading towards the gym.

Elsa's expression dimmed as she saw them walk away. She has done a big mistake and she had to make things right.

She went into campus's garden where Hiccup was sitting on one of the benches staring at his phone screen.

He was staring at a picture, there were two kids inthe picture who looked about six. They were hugging eachother. There was boy and a girl. The boy had brown hair and the girl had fiery red hair. It took a second for Elsa to realize the kids were Merida and Hiccup.

Elsa noticed a tear escape Hiccup's eyes as he looked at the picture.

"Hey" Elsa said softly sitting beside him.

"You both pretty cute" she complimented.
"Yea the good times" he said smiling.

"Why dont you guys hang out now? I mean a reunion" Elsa suggested.

"I don't know, we have grown apart plus she likes spending time with Jack more" Hiccup explained closing his phone.

Elsa felt a pang of jealousy but just said "oh".

"Awww did you see Jack and Merida practicing their duet. It was the best!!. I like them as bestfriend but I ship Hiccup with Merida and Jack with Elsa. What about you?" A girl with hazel green eyes and short messy auburn hair asked her friend.

"Me too Flo, me too" her friend with long black shiny hair replied.

"Shh, Miko Hiccup and Elsa are just behind us" Flo warned and the two girls speed walked passed them.

"What time is it?" Elsa asked trying to ignore the conversation they had accidentally overheard

"Umm it's 6:53 pm" Hiccup said playing along.

As if on que.

Merida and Jack passed them. They were running towards the cafe.

They were having a race and since both of them were so athletic. It was a interesting competition to watch.

"Go Merida! Go Merida" Hiccup cheered and Merida winked at him before catching up with Jack. Hiccup blushed a deep shade of red which was easily noticed by Elsa. Who understood what is happening.

It's nothing, your just getting paranoid Elsa, she reassured herself.

Inthe cafe

"Guys I just want to say that I am sorry, I seriously had no idea" Repunzal said with her head down.

Merida and Jack shared a quizzical expression before turning back to Repunzal.

"Um what are u talking about Punz?" Jack asked.

" You know, you like Elsa and Mer like Hiccup..."

"Wait Merida likes Hiccup, No way!!" Jack said laughing.

"Thanks Punz" Merida groaned slamming her face onthe coffee table

"Oops I messed up again" Repunzal said with a guilty face.

Merida mouthed its ok to Repunzal and turned back to Jack.

"Ouch!!" He yelped rubbing the back of his head where Merida had smacked him

"Look Punz this is not your fault, Hiccup and Elsa like eachother that's why they started dating after you pushed them a little. There are always the unlucky ones when it comes to this whole dating thing. Me and Jack just happen to be the unlucky ones. That's not your fault." Merida reassured and Jack nodded

"You know, I am now totally, absolutely FINE about the fact that they are dating" Jack said emphasising onthe word fine.

"Me too" Merida said surprisingly calm.

"Well ok, if you say so" Repunzal said biting her lip thoughtfully.

"So your parents are gonna meet Eugene for the first time, huh? " Jack asked wriggling his eyebrow's in a teasing way changing the topic.

"Yeah" Repunzal said blushing.

"When lass?" Merida asked confused.

"Over the one week holiday we are having and after that is the Valentines day ball" Repunzal sighed dreamily forgetting the type of poeple she was sitting with.

"Yeah we know, we have been making decorations ever since I can remember" Jack groaned.

"And yea and it isn't really amusing when your surrounded by couples who volunteered" Merida said sticking out her tongue in disgust.

"So you guys are going?" Repunzal asked

"Ofcourse" they said in unison

"I won't miss free food"

"Merida is right, who cares that if there is gonna be Hicelsa, food before crush" Jack declared and Merida high fived him.

"You two are really something" Repunzal laughed.

Another week passed by and the holidays finally came. Repunzal and Elsa left one day earlier because of Anna's surprise birthday party. Jack was gonna stay inthe campus with his Uncle North, who was the vice head of the school. Flynn was staying with Jack but will leave few days later to meet Repunzal's parents.

Merida and Hiccup were putting their stuff in Hiccup's car, as they got ready for a four hour trip to their home town. They lived just across the street. Their parents were bestfriends since primary school, they were called the Fantastic Four and they maintained their friendship by living just across the street and they always went for holidays together. This resulted Merida and Hiccup's strong bond which had become a little weak inthe past six months.

"Bye " Merida said giving Flynn a hug.

"Bye Jack" she said giving Jack a hug while Hiccup tried his best not to grit his teeth but remained unsuccessful.

"It looks like someone is getting jealous" Flynn whispered to Merida, who lightly just punched his arm.

Hiccup gave Jack and Flynn a goodbye and followed Merida inthe car.

It was kind of awkward a first since they haven't talked for quite a longtime but the awkwardness soon finnished when they got in their usual fights again over taking the wrong routes, or their song choices etc.

They both were kinda relieved that they were still best friends from underground even though from the surface they might have fallen apart.

After sometime Merida decided to take a quick nap and got comfortable inthe fimilair car seat.

Few hours later

"Wake up Mer, we are here" Hiccup said gently shaking Merida with one hand while parking the car in his parents driveway where there families were waiting for them.

"Merida!! Hiccup!!" Fergus cheered engulfing them in a bear hug at the same time.

"Da" Merida said trying to release from her father's iron grip.

Then came Stoick's turn and repeated Fergus way of hug.

Merida and Hiccup were feeling crushed after those two mighty hugs.

Then came Eleanor's turn, "i can't believe I am saying this but I missed your arguments" she said after releasing them.

"Me too" Hiccup mumbled under his breath.

"Our neighbourhood was empty without you two" Valka said her hand on each of their shoulders.

"Sis!! ,Brother in law!!" Harris, Hubert, Hamish said tackling those two to the ground. Merricup just laughed at the Hiccup's old nickname which Eleanor had taught them while they were learning how to speak.

Even when they were now 13 and perfectly well knew what brother in law meant they still used it out of habit

"How are you three" Hiccup said getting up and looking around for the fimilair black cat.

"Toothless bud!" Hiccup called out to the black cat who just walked out of the house.

The black cat just glanced one time at his master and hissed at him.

"I am sorry bud for leaving you" Hiccup said opening his arms for the cat.

Toothless just turned his head and walked towards Merida who immediately picked him up.

"You snitch" Hiccup hissed at him and Toothless just stuck his tongue out.

"Ok well quickly eat up we are going to heading out to our vocation spot" Fergus said shifting their luggage into the minivan.

Eleanor took out some sandwiches which quickly disappeared because of the two hungry adults.

It was 6 inthe evening and it was already dark because of the winter season, they were heading towards the beach house. It was an old tradition set by the the Fantastic four when they were teenagers themselves. The beach area was less crowded at this time and was good way to escape from the noisy atmosphere of the town.

The seating arrangements were the same since Merida could remember. Fergus and Stoick inthe front, Valka and Eleanor along with the triplets inthe middle and last but not the least Merida, Hiccup and Toothless at the very back.

The triplets were getting a handful inthe middle but were easily controlled by Valka and Eleanor.

It was old tradition, to keep the windows open and let the cold wind enter the car causing everyone to shiver. Hiccup never understood this concept but later on Fergus told him, that it was trick used by him and Stoick to share the blanket with Eleanor and Valka. Now Hiccup understood what they meant. When Eleanor passed a single warm blanket to them inthe back.

Hiccup just stared at the old blanket they had used since they were toddlers.

"What are you doing Hic" Merida asked confused as she grabbed one end of the blanket and wrapped it around her.

Hiccup shook up from his thoughts as he joined her wrapping the other end around him.

But they gotten bigger and the blanket was not long enough.

So they scooted closer and Hiccup put his arm around Merida's shoulder so they would stay warm.

Toothless found his ideal spot in between them and fell asleep.

The whole ride's conversation was dominated by their fathers as usual. Hamish, Harris and Hubert had now fallen fast asleep after a tiring day of packing.

Eleanor and Valka were busy in their own conversations.

Merida was wide awake because of her afternoon nap inthe car but Hiccup was dosing off.

He finally fell asleep, his head on Merida's shoulder. He was lightly snoring as well which was a sign he was really tired.

Merida looked around her, how quickly had time passed. She remembered her first visit to the beach. She and Hiccup had argued with their mothers that they now big children and could sit inthe back by themselves. (They were 5). They use to share the blankets with their mothers but at that trip. Valka had given them one blanket to share because they were too small for one blanket each. Time passed and they could have separate blankets but it felt very odd, after years of sharing the same thing so they decided to keep it as tradition.

That night when they reached, they had a hard time waking up poeple. Hiccup was hugging Merida like she was some plush toy, Hamish, Harris and Hubert were clutching each other and Hubert was attached to his mother like a chain.

That night, everyone was exhausted went to bed immediately except for a mother and her son who were sitting inthe living room of the beach house, sipping hot coffee and enjoying the cold breezy atmosphere of the sea.

"So how are you and Elsa?" Valka asked curiously.

Hiccup took a deep breath and gave his signature lopsided awkward smile.

"Actually we broke up" he said putting the empty coffee mug onthe table.

"Oh" Valka said pretending to be sad.

"Mom, you don't need to pretend. I know you're really happy that we broke up" Hiccup said lying onthe sofa more comfortably.

"This isn't you Hiccup, two girls in six months what is going on? " she asked concerned for her son.

"Actually I suck at dad's advices" he said scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"What advice did your father give you?" Valka asked more concerned.

"I told him six months ago, that I really liked this girl for a longtime but she is out of my league and never like me back. Dad adviced me that I should try dating girls that were close to me. So i tried Astrid but that didn't work so I tried Elsa but my mind is still fixed on that girl. I love her. I really do" Hiccup said, his green eyes fixed on his mother. Begging for help.

Valka looked shocked for a moment by his sudden change in attitude but then regained her composure.

"Hiccup I suggest you talk to that girl first, you never know till you try first. As far as I understand, you really like her and until your not done with her , your not gonna move on. As far as I know, Merida is the only girl who can complete you" she added.

"And don't be surprised, your too obvious my son" she said patting his back and then standing up.

"Oh and your father is hopeless in romantic advices, it took him 8 years to ask me out." She said before disappearing inthe kitchen.

Next morning

"Hi bro in law" Hamish said flopping onthe couch beside Hiccup who was on his laptop.

Harris and Hubert joined him carrying pastries.

"Your mom is gonna kill you" Hiccup warned glancing at the pile of cakes.

"You and Merida are on a break?" Hamish asked curiously.

"Ofcourse we are on a break, that's why we joined you inthe holiday" Hiccup replied taking a pastry and earning a glare from the triplets.

"No, he means that did you fight?" Harris asked.

"I don't remember us fighting" Hiccup said pretending to think hard.

"Gosh your so dumb, I don't even know why Merida likes you" Hubert groaned in frustration.

Hiccup almost choked onthe bite he had just taken of the cake, he turned towards Hubert with wide eyes, Hubert wanted the earth to swallow him.

"Yea, I wonder how she likes you as friend. I mean she's so impatient" Harris the clever one saved them.

"Well she has gotten use to it" Hiccup said turning back to his laptop, Toothless came and rested beside him. Hiccup patted his head.

"How are you doing bud?" He asked and before Toothless could meow a reply.

"Hiccup!! Merida!! Harris!! Hubert!! Hamish!!" A voice called from upstairs and the whole house shook.

"Aaagh, what is it Mum?" The four siblings replied. (Merida just came out from the kitchen).

"Come up, look what I found!" She called.

"Another one of her dresses. I swear I am gonna.." Merida muttered headed up the stairs.

"Did she find out about our prank supply" Hamish whispered to his brothers.

"No, she sounded excited besides why would she call Merricup then" Harris explained.

"Merricup?" Hubert asked confused.

"Merida and Hiccup, it saves alot of energy just saying Merricup" Harris replied

"Smart bro" they said as they finally reached the top floor.

"Oh look at these" Eleanor said with a bright smile.

The five look confused at the pile of albums onthe floor.

"Hiccup, look your parents when they were younger"

"Wow" Hiccup gasped.

"You really don't like your father" Merida said looking over his shoulder.

"Thanks for the reminder" he groaned and she playfully ruffled his hair.

"Oh and this is me and your father inthe prom" Eleanor said handing her picture to Merida.

"Oh this is where you wore the dreaded dress" Merida said in a disgusted tone

"Come on you looked really nice inthat dress" Hiccup complimented.

"Yuck, public affection. Let's get out of here boys" Hamish said and the two followed.

Eleanor was too busy looking inthe pictures, to hear the comment and Merricup just ignored it.

"Eleanor! Mountain men will be coming any minute now. Help me with the breakfast!" Valka called.

"Coming!" Eleanor replied.

"I can't believe how quickly time flies" Merida whispered flipping through the pictures

"Huh?" Hiccup asked looking up from his own album.

"Look at our parents they use to be teenagers then young adults then had kids of their own who are now as well twenty".

"Yeah, time does fly" Hiccup agreed putting down his album.

"Before we know it, we will be returning to this place with our own families. Your and Elsa's kids and someday I will find the one for me, and we would have our own family. Then you and I will bring our own families." She said putting down the album as well and looking up to her friend with a sad smile.

After a moment of awkward silence, Hiccup spoke " I don't know about you Mer but I don't really imagine myself with anybody else other than you Mer. It would be really weird to think you with somebody else and your children calling me Uncle instead of Dad. I don't know how you feel about me but I can assure you that your the only girl I thought about seriously and this may not sound convincing but this is the truth and I just want to know do you feel the same way?" He asked breathing heavily.

Merida for a moment looked stunned, Hiccup was for sure full of surprises.

"If you would asked me this six months ago I would without hesitation said yes but now after bearing the pain of seeing you with someone else, 0.01 percent I am sure I can live without you but the rest of me still wants me to say yes. Can you erase that 0.01 percent doubt Hiccup?" She asked in a challenging tone.

"If yes then, I am ready to spend eternity and beyond with you" she said, slight blush creeping on her cheeks.

"You bet I will, I am gonna make you love me 1000 percent. Just give your idoit a chance" he laughed, not able to control his joy.

He took ahold of her hands and span her around in joy.

"I can't believe I live to see this day" Stoick chuckled and Fergus patted his back.

"From friends to family" valka said hugging Eleanor.

"I can't believe he really is going to be our brother in law" Hubert said in shock and the two nodded.

10 years later

"Do I have to go!!"

"Yes Leo, you have to go" Merida said to her 7 year-old son.

Leo groaned," but I dont want to meet Lily and Jessica" he said scratching his curly brown hair.

"But why?" Hiccup asked amused staring in his son's forest green eyes.

"They both are pulling me towards them, I don't like that. Besides Amanda is watching and that doesn't give a good impression" he said crossing his arms and pouting.

"No way" Elsa said looking at the picture, it was a newly born redfaced Merida and hardly 2 or 3 months old Hiccup.

"What are you doing with these pictures" Merida said looking annoyed.

"July 25 hmmm Leo, Hiccup's birthday is on 26 April. Taurus. That's a nice combination" Repunzal said popping out of nowhere, lately she has gotten obsessed with star signs.

"Fire and Earth, that's gonna be a great match" she complimented.

"Thankyou very much but I suggest you keep them back where they came from" Merida said handing Jack the pictures.

"Jeez someone is cranky" Jack said as Merida went back to arranging flowers.

"Actually Merida is cranky when she is nervous, I think she's nervous for tommorow. So can you guys handle it here while I take her for some ice cream try to cool her down" Hiccup asked nervously

"Sure Hic, leave us to do your work inthe scorching sun while you have ice cream with your faincee inthe air conditioned parlor" Jack groaned, Elsa punched him inthe shoulder and turned to Hiccup.

"Ignore Jack, go and calm Merida. I don't know a better candidate who can handle her right now" Elsa said and Hiccup mouthed a thank you before running towards his faincee who was shouting on a garden gnome for making her trip.

"Phew finally done" Jack said leaning against the wall.

"I don't why your feeling so exhausted, I am the one who nailed and hung every picture" Elsa asked

"Well, you wouldn't have been able to this, if I haven't gotten Hiccup's house keys" Jack reminded.

"Do you think they will like it" Elsa asked putting her hands on her hips as she admired the wall.

"I think they will love it" Jack said putting his arm around Elsa. They are just still friends.

Elsa and Jack's wedding gift to Merricup was to decorate a whole wall which had pictures of them being together. There were total 21 pictures, each picture representing each year. The wall started with the picture Jack showed them earlier and will end with the wedding picture that will be taken tommorow.

Each year, a picture will added until one of them dies

. "I think Merida will die first, what do you think Els" Jack asked seriously.

Elsa looked horrified, "Jack tommorow is their wedding day, how can you even think like that!!" She said hitting him with a empty photo frame.

"What!, that happened in UP!!" He protested.

"Gosh your hopeless" she said hitting her head with the empty frame.

"Oh come on Hiccup!! stop moving" Flynn groaned trying to tie the bow tie.

"What if she understands that she doesn't love me and runs away" Hiccup asked nervously.

"Actually I think, you guys were made to be forever together. You can't seperate even if you want to " Eugene reassured.

"Except when you die, you will get seperated like in UP" Jack said eating a bag of chips.

Hiccup gave Jack a horrified look and Flynn face palmed.

"Hello fellow loner" Jack said joining Elsa near the food section who looked deep in thought.

"What are you thinking?" Jack asked.

Elsa shook her head and gave Jack a faint smile, "I just hope I am lucky as my friends. I hope someone looks at me like Hiccup looks at Merida or like Eugene looks at Punzie" Elsa whispered.

" when he is looking at you, you are admiring other couples" was all Jack said and disappeared.

"Hello everyone, can I have your attention" Jack said grabbing a mike.

"I have something to say" Jack said his eyes twinkling.

"In middle school, I told Hiccup I will pay him 50 dollars if he marries the girl he likes, So Hiccup here are your 50 dollars. Enjoy"

"And Flynn you still owe me 20 dollars" he added.

It was now time for Merida to throw the bouquet.

"Goodluck Frost" Merida grinned.

"Need all the luck I can get" Jack said and they did their secert handshake.

"1!!,2!!,3!!" The crowd chanted as Merida positioned to throw her bouquet but at the count of three she didn't throw her bouquet.

She turned around and handed a stunned, shocked Elsa the bouquet.

"What?" Elsa asked confused but Merida only grinned and pointed behind her, where a person with slivery white hair was headed towards her.

In a moment he was on one knee, and he asked "will you marry me?".

This one shot turned out to be unexpected. I started working on it two months ago snd now I finally wrote it. I feel proud of it. I don't know why but I really like this hope you enjoyed.
