"Jack?" Hiccup called from the other side of the door.

No reply came, making the couple more worried.

"Wait a minute, hold Leo" Merida said handing Hiccup their 3 year old son who was fast asleep while she went towards the door.

"My brothers taught me how to pick a lock" Merida explained as kneeled down towards the lock.

"And voila" Merida said as they heard a clicking sound and she opened the door.

"Jack?" She called carefully walking inside, with Hiccup behind her.

"Here" a tired voice called , they looked around trying to find where the voice came from.

"Behind the couch" Jack called and Merida walked towards the couch while Hiccup put Leo in a cot that was used by Repunzal's daughter when Jack or Elsa babysitted her.

"How are you doing bud?" Hiccup asked sitting beside his depressed friend.

Jack just messed up his brown hair and continued to stare at the ceiling.

"You dope, he asked how are you doing!!" Merida said slapping Jack's arm, trying to wake him up.

"Great, just great. I mean Elsa is getting married. If she is happy I am happy. Happy happy happy. Happy Elsa Happy Jack" Jack said smiling oddly.

The pair shared a glance, that meant I think he finally lost it.

" Soo...Jack." Hiccup started but Jack suddenly started crying making Hiccup jump.

"I..love her...we were engaged....but now she is marrying someone else.....I wish I wasn't so overprotective, i wish I wasn't so insecure. I wish....wish...I could change the fate's design.....and bring..back what was once mine"  he said breaking into more sobs.

"Come on Jack, be a man. Try to move on" Merida said patting his shoulder.

"Or" Hiccup said smirking as an idea formed in his mind.

"Or what" Jack asked his brown eyes twinkling with hope.

"And this is his favourite blanket" Merida said for the tenth time.

"Oh dear, I raised four ruffians. You think I can't handle my angel grandson" Eleanor said looking fondly at Leo.

"Yea, angel" Hiccup coughed behind them. Angel was the last thing Leo was.

"Thanks mom, for looking after Leo, tommorow Valka will come to pick him up" Merida informed and Eleanor nodded.

"Bye Leo, bye mom" Merida said hugging her mother and then kissed her son's forehead.

"Bye kiddo" Hiccup said ruffling his son's curly brown hair.

"Mama, Dad" Leo called to his parents, as tears welled up in his forest green eyes.

Merida and Hiccup shared another look which meant This is gonna take some time.

"Thank god, I thought we would have to leave Merida with Leo" Jack joked when they finally joined him back inthe taxi.

"Oh shut up, Frostbutt. You don't know hard it is for my son" Merida hissed.

"Jeez, I was just joking. No need to be so cranky curly" Jack said

"What did you call me!!" Merida said her face turning red.

Hiccup faceplamed, "Thor how do I always end up between these two" .

"Probably because they would killed eachother by now" the taxi driver replied.

"Oh my god, Elsa your dress is so beautiful" Repunzal squealed jumping up and down.

"Aunt Els, you would look like a angel" Lily said with her big brown eyes shining with excitement.

"Jack- I mean Hans is gonna faint when he sees you inthis dress" Rapunzal said caressing the white lace.

"I wish he does, then we would have to postpone the wedding" Elsa mumbled.

"Gosh I wish Mer was here" Anna said entering the room with three boxes of choclate.

"Yeah" Elsa said sadly, the second downfall. Her bestfriend wasn't even present.

"Why didn't she come to Norway?" Anna asked confused.

"Well Hiccup wasn't getting holiday from his work and she didn't want to leave him behind" Repunzal lied, it was convincing enough as Anna mouthed oh with a understanding expression.

"Who knew she can be such a softie" Anna joked.

"Your lucky that Elsa is my bestfriend and I dont want her to marry someone she doesn't love. "Merida said crossing her arms as Jack stuck his tongue out.

"I swear, I dont know them" Hiccup said covering his face with the magazine he was reading. They were right now inthe waiting area, where Jack and Merida were sure catching some attention.

"Well then you obviously, you think i am better than Hans huh?" Jack grinned.

"Nah Hans is better than you , the problem is that Elsa loves you not him. Poor girl" Merida muttered the last part grinning smugly

"Your saying sideburns are better than me, you really need to get your eyes checked" he groaned.

"Can you guys stop acting like toddlers" Hiccup hissed his face still behind the magazine.

"Nah, we are good. Hic" was all Jack said before yanking one of Merida's curls.

"Hans you don't know much proud you have made us" his mother said looking at her son with adoration.

"Yeah for the first time, I can see your not useless as we thought" his father joined

"Thanks dad" Hans whispered sadly looking at the floor.

"When you marry Elsa, you get half of the Aren's company and property and then we will be rolling in money" His mother grinned but Hans just flinched.

This wasn't right, this isn't right at all, he thought later that night pacing around his room. He took out his phone, and single tear escaped when he saw her. Her bright green eyes, Her jet black hair, her beautiful smirk.

The only person, who didn't think he was invisible, who truly loved him without any reason. The only person he thought the world of.

"Heather, I am so sorry" he said closing the phone.

"So redhead were w-"

"Shhhhhh" Hiccup said gesturing to Merida who was fast asleep onthe chair next to him.

"Aww she fell asleep, who am I gonna annoy now" Jack said eating the roasted peanuts he just bought.

"Not me, flight is in half and hour. Wake us up by then" Hiccup said yawning and for the first time Jack noticed how tired Hiccup looked.

"Ok bud, you rest" Jack said patting his friend's shoulder and quitely sitting back on his seat.

Hiccup nodded, he placed his head on his wife's shoulder and fell asleep and Merida's head fell on top

Jack felt a small tinge of jealousy, he and Elsa were the first to get together but they were the only couple who didn't end up together inthe big six.

But that is gonna change,  he thought determined.

"My dear, how beautiful you look" Elsa's mother said, they were having a small family party before the wedding. In which Elsa was wearing a ice blue knee length dress.

"Thanks mum" Elsa said trying to fake a smile.

Her mother had pulled her aside for a private chat.

"Dear, you don't know how much you have done for us" her father said.

"What do you mean?" Elsa asked confused.

Her parents shared a look before turning back to her.

"You know Anna's engagement to the stable boy" Iduna said with disgust.

"So it was important for you to marry a man which had a good name inthe business world" Adgar explained. "Besides you will be getting all the properties and the whole business. Anna won't be getting anything because of her mistake" he added and with that they left leaving Elsa frozen in shock.

Later that day

"Hey Anna" Elsa whispered, they  were having a sister slumber party.

"Yea sis" Anna called still looking at the tv screen.

"Do you know...that....your..not getting..any of the inheritance" Elsa asked nervously.

"Yup!!" Anna said popping the p.

"Mom and dad, at the time of our engagement told me that loud and clear. They thought that would change my mind and for a moment it did but then Kristoff's heart broken face came in my mind and then I realized money can't buy you alot of things and Kristoff's love was one of those things. It's better to live in a medium sized house than in a fancy mansion for me if Kristoff is there to give me support" Anna added, with a determined look which made Elsa feel more sick.

She remembered how she and Jack had broken up. How he was crying and saying sorry. That was the first she saw him cry but didn't soften her heart. He was pleading her not to go but she didn't listen, instead she threw her engagement ring at him and left him.

Few days later she took a flight back to Norway, to live with her family and then two months later, this arrange marriage was suggested by her parents. Which she accepted. Her parents and Anna didn't know about her engagement with Jack.

Then she finally made the decision, she didn't want to marry Hans. Tommorow she was gonna run away.

I have no clue how long does a flight from USA to Norway takes.

"Um Hiccup if you don't mind can you please sit still " Jack said as Hiccup kept moving sideways trying to catch a glimpse of his redhead.

"I was just seeing if Merida boarded already" he explained

"Where was she?" Jack asked

"Inthe bathroom, went to wash her face and I can bet a 100 bucks she stopped at the snack shop" He was looking inthe front.

"Finally" he said sounding relieved, when he spotted Merida entering the plane. Her face was flushed red which showed she was running.

She handed her boarding pass to the flight attendant, who guided her to the very back of the plane.

As she passed them, she mouthed a quick sorry and then continued walking

"Well everything is going smooth" Hiccup said relaxing in his seat and Jack nodded.

"You!!" They heard two voice shout in unison from the back of the plane.

"And I spoke too soon"

"No!way!! you were Hans's girlfriend!!" Merida exclaimed and air hostess signaled her to quiet, since alot of poeple were asleep now.

"Yeah, until he left me to marry some rich girl but I am not giving up on him not that easily" Heather said her green eyes held fire in them.

"So Dunbroch, where are you going?" Heather asked.

"Actually its Mrs Haddock now and you would be surprised to hear. That my destination is the same as yours"

"Haddock?....no way you and Hiccup are married!" Heather said with a shocked expression.

"And we have three year old son. Leo as well" Merida said taking out her phone to show her wallpaper which was a picture of Hiccup and Leo.

"Hiccup changed alot and your son is really cute. Where did he get the dimples from?" She said inspecting the picture keenly and now it was Merida's turn to be surprised

Now the story starts

"Hiccup?"

"Hmmm"

"What is your secert to a perfect relationship?" Jack asked.

"Huh?" Hiccup asked confused and Jack turned more red in embrassent.

"I mean how do you and... Merida. I don't,.. know get along so well. Out of all the couples. I envy you two the most" he mumbled the last part.

Hiccup chuckled, "well I am honoured to hear that from the biggest player in our school"

"But our relationship isn't perfect, Nobody's relationship is perfect. We are humans after all and we fight, we fight alot on little things  but to be honest I count those fights as playful ones. After a minute or two we are back to normal." He added.

"Not helping Hic" Jack said Hiccup gave him a apologetic look.

"Well I guess that the secert of our almost perfect relationship is that we focus onthe details. We have known eachother for such a longtime that we know what to do and what to say to eachother. It helps alot. The problem with your and Elsa's relationship was that you guys were too busy thinking about doing big things for each other like Elsa did the pool party for you and you booked the entire ice skating rink for her. That you guys miss out the details. You guys don't have enough information about eachother likes and dislikes an-"

"That's not true" Jack protested.

"Oh really, does she like seafood?, what was her first dog's name?, at what age she started wearing glasses?" Hiccup tested and Jack's face fell in defeat.

"Your right what else" Jack asked.

"Well in my opinion your relationship was kinda rushed, very very rushed. Me and Merida have known eachother since preschool and we even confessed in highschool but didn't start dating till college," Hiccup informed and Jack's eyes widened.

"You didn't tell me!!" Jack hissed.

"Well we didn't want anyone to know and besides we both weren't ready to date. We took it slow and it turned out  quite well." Hiccup grinned.

"So your saying that if by chance me and Elsa get together. We should get to know eachother better first and then go in a serious relationship" Jack asked and Hiccup.

"Take time to know eachother, let your insecurities die  because inthe end to maintain a serious relationship. Love isn't enough." Hiccup finnished.

"Hiccup"

"What now huh?"

"Thankyou for everything, you and Merida are truly the bestest friends I can ever have. You left your three year old son to help me reverse a mistake. I am eternally grateful" Jack said as tears came in his eyes.

"We will always be there for you. Like you have been there for us" Hiccup said and they hugged.

"Like when I got bitten by Merida's father dog when I was trying to help you meet her secretly" Jack asked and Hiccup chuckled.

"Exactly"

Ok poeple, you might know this about me by now but if you don't then let me tell you. I always write a rough draft before writing the actual story. So I can see how the possibilities are to continue the story.

Since "I object" is one the longest written one shot in my book and not to mention one of the most popular one as well. I decided to show you the rough draft as well.
