Inspired to make this one shot after watching the Merricup video

"We finally defeated Drago!!" Hiccup cheered, jumping up and down in happiness.

"My son, I am so proud of you. I can't believe I missed your first adventure" Valka said caressing her son's face.

"Don't worry Mom, Astrid here will give you a full detailed account" Hiccup replied.

Astrid just smiled at them.

"Astrid your such a wonderful girl, I can't wait for you guys to get married"
Valka said holding each of their hands.

"Don't worry mom, I am sure that will be done till the third movie" Hiccup joked. (Please No)

The trio started laughing.

A woman with bright red curly hair and a young men with ginger hair were watching this scene from a distance.

"Merida I think we should leave now" Peter Pan said tugging on her sleeve, seeing his friend starting to break down.

"No its ok, I just wanna see them for sometime more " Merida said not taking her eyes from the scene.

"Merida your just hurting yourself" He argued.

"For the last time" she choked.

Peter just sadly glanced at his friend. Merida had dark circles around her eyes, she had gotten very thin. Her complextion was sickly pale and her bright blue eyes had lost their spark.

Still she kept her promise.

"Why do you still come here?, he never does he?" Peter said angrily.

"I am not like him, I know how to keep my promise" she said.

"You deserved more" he said.

"It doesn't matter anymore, I am dying anyway" she said.

"Scarlet Fever left some side effects in me" she said dryly.

"Thats what I am trying to say, spend the rest of your days happily. Not crying over that person!!".

"I am not crying but I am just sad that I wasn't important enough to be remembered". "Am I not that important? " Merida asked tears filling her eyes.

"Your very important to me, your parents and to your brothers, your the reason I haven't still punched him yet" He joked.

"And he's the reason I haven't killed Astrid yet" she added, a smile spread on her face.

"Smile, that's what I wanna see on your face" he said Merida suddenly remembered.

"Smile Merida, the best thing you can ever wear" Hiccup said grinning himself.

Merida's smile disappeared.

A rustle was heard from the trees behind them. They immediately got up cautiously.

A black figure jumped on Merida, "Toothless!!" They both cheered.

"How are you buddy", Merida said caressing his back.

Toothless ignored the question and stared at Merida's appearance.

He nudged her softly and showed her his big green eyes.

Those big green eyes said everything to Merida.

She just smiled softly and gently said "Buddy, this is the last time, I am visiting you. Dont be sad but please remember me-" she couldn't complete her sentence as tears started flowing down her cheeks.

She started crying, hugging Toothless's neck. Toothless just closed his eyes and bended his head above her head.

"Goodbye" she whispered and sniffed.
"Merida its almost time to go" Peter said sadly.

"Yeah, just a moment" she replied and wiped her tears with her sleeve and then reached in her dress pocket and took out necklace with a long chain. The pendant in the necklace belonged to her.

"Here you go toothless, the last gift to you from me" she said and put it around his neck. The chain was perfect in size.

"Goodbye" she said and left with Peter.

Toothless just stood there for a moment. Wondering at what just happened.

He then went back to Hiccup.

"Hey buddy, where have you been?" Hiccup asked.

Toothless said nothing, his big green eyes showed sadness. He just sat down and closed his eyes.

Hiccup stood there confused, What had gotten in to Toothless? , He first disappeared and returned looking depressed.

Hiccup just stared at his dragon's sleeping figure looking confused.

The sunlight hit Toothless and Hiccup noticed something slivery shining under the riding gear.

"What is Toothless wearing?" He thought and slowly approached his dragon.

Toothless opened his eyes and saw Hiccup curiosily started to pull out the necklace from underneath the leather.

Hiccup gasped and fell back in shock,
"Merida" was all he could utter.

"Merida's necklace, Merida is here, Yahoo!!" He jumped up happily.

"My best friend is here!!" Hiccup fist bumped the air.

"Hiccup come here" he heard Astrid's voice from afar

Merida...... Merida..Astrid or Merida...Astrid or Merida. He thought confused. Who to choose?

Merida!, he decided. "Toothless come on, buddy lets meet a old friend again" he said and jumped on Toothless's back.

Toothless immediately charged of.

Soon they saw a fimilair mass of red hair.

"Merida!!! Merida!!!" Hiccup shouted leaning from Toothless.

"Merida!! Merida!!, look what toothless and I found" memories, Merida thought bitterly.

I can even hear his voice now, I am going crazy, Merida thought.

Hiccup why did you forget me?. "Umm Merida you might want to look behind" Peter said his hands in his pockets.

Merida turned around to see a running, energetic, tumbling Hiccup coming towards her.

She stopped and stared at her friend.

Peter gestured her to look towards Hiccup.

Merida couldn't believe it, it's a dream. Wake up Merida!, wakeup! this is a dream .

"Mer..ida..Merida" Hiccup whispered, panting.

He stood up, Merida was frozen.

She slowly lifted her hand and brought it to Hiccup's cheek and.............Slapped him hard onthe face.

"Ow!!" He said rubbing his cheek.

"Thats for breaking your promise" she said angrily.

His green eyes sparkled, her ocean blue eyes also stared in his.

They both hugged, "I am sorry....so so sorry" he said.

"I will be going, Merida have fun" Peter said giving them the thumbs up.

He then flew of.

"Hiccup I have something to tell" Merida said her voice becoming sadder.

"I can see that" he said gesturing to her thin face, looking worried.

One year later

"Princess Merida of Dunbroch
Was a monarch loved by all her subjects.
Caring sister of Prince Hamish, Hubert and Harris.
A loving daughter of King Fergus and Queen Eleanor.
......................................."

The priest talked on and on but Hiccup didn't care to listen.

He just stared mindlessly at the grave and then at the bow in his hands, which belonged to Merida.

"Be brave Hiccup" Astrid said patting his back.

Dont be a wimp Hiccup, lets follow the wisps.

Poeple die but memories live. That is hardest part.

When you sit down, trying to forget someone, all memories flood back and you can't help but remember the good times and then you turn to the person to make them remember and then you realize there gone forever.

"Poeple say that she's not really gone,until we remember her but they dont know the remembering is the hardest part" Hiccup said sadly.

With that he slowly walked away from the tombstone.

"Goodbye Merida"

Dont forget me please

"Even though remembering is hard for me but I will still remember you"
