as he had thought, jeongguk didn't get much sleep, but he was still full of energy as he rushed to the beach just after the sun rose.

he pouted when he saw taehyung wasn't there yet but he knew he was pretty early anyways so it was normal.

he laid down on his stomach on the rock, his head above the water and he busied himself watching his reflection, until taehyung came out of the water and pecked his cheek quickly.

"you ready?" the merman asked, his eyes sparkling. jeongguk nodded with the same look in his eyes, and dived in the ocean, even if it was pretty cold.

taehyung saw him shiver so he came to him and wrapped his arms around his bigger frame. the boy melted in his arms and let his head rest in the crook of his neck until he had recovered a normal body warmth.

"alright we can go." he said and waited for taehyung to swim.

"we'll stay near the surface for a while, you can stay on my chest so you won't tire yourself, and i'll tell you when we'll dive in." the merman explained rather seriously. jeongguk nodded and placed himself above taehyung's body.

they swam together, taehyung occasionally showing jeongguk a rare fish specie, or corals, or even a bunch of dolphins.

he loved to see jeongguk's eyes widen, to see his bunny teeth show, he couldn't get over it. once they had reached the spot where they had to dive in, taehyung became serious.

"koo, you have to trust me 100%.. im not telling what's going to happen because i don't want you to be nervous or worried, i promise you'll be all fine if you let me do what i have to."

the boy nodded again, but his serious tone actually made him worry a bit. taehyung took his hands and gently put them around his strong neck, before holding him by his waist.

"you'll stay underneath me, don't fall asleep, you can close your eyes but never loose focus alright, it's important. if anything is wrong punch my chest and look at me in the eyes so i can understand what you need. but most importantly, don't be scared, you're safe with me." he explained again and pecked his forehead lovingly.

"you ready handsome?" taehyung asked so jeongguk nodded. "alright take a deep breath, and then let me do everything." he warned once again, he waited until jeongguk had filled his lungs with air and he dived in the water.

jeongguk closed his eyes as they were quickly entering the darkness, it was all dark around him, and it scared him, so since taehyung had told him he could he closed his eyes and focused on his warm hands holding his waist.

a minute passed, and he was loosing air. he could feel he had to breathe again but nothing was happening.

he slowly opened his eyes, to see taehyung's were bright pink, lighting up in the dark water. he focused on them and gently squeezed his neck to catch his attention.

they locked eyes and jeongguk tried to make him understand he had to breathe, but the merman wasn't doing anything about it.

he was just staring at him, with his round and adorable eyes, but jeongguk was seriously starting to panic, he told him he would be alright but why was he not doing anything as he was lacking air.

all he could see was darkness, he panicked even more and started to punch on his chest harder, trying to show him he couldn't stay conscious for much more.

his vision started to blur and he stopped punching taehyung's chest, he just gripped on his shoulders weakly so he maybe wouldn't get lost in the ocean's depth.

he felt taehyung's hands slide off his waist and he thought it was done, he was dead already, and he trusted taehyung blindly when he shouldn't have.

his grip on his shoulders weakened more and more but before he totally went out of oxygen, warm hands cupped his face and soft lips were on his, and he finally was able to breathe in.

he took a deep breath and opened his eyes again, to see they were still in the dark water, but taehyung was kissing him to give him oxygen.

he took a deep breath and the merman pulled away, not looking into jeongguk's eyes. the boy smiled and brought his face back near him to kiss him again, and also take a breath.

he was recovering more energy at each breath, and so each kiss taehyung gave him. he didn't once let go of his face, so he could bring him close and take a breath whenever he wanted.

the kiss were getting longer and longer, and they weren't only for oxygen anymore, as they moved their lips against the other's.

jeongguk kept taehyung's face close and so they were quite making out for the whole trip long, until they reached for the small path that led to taehyung's world.

the merman pulled away only to show jeongguk the path, it was a beautiful shiny white like pearls, it was totally out of an anime for the boy but he was still impressed.

he turned back around to reach for taehyung's face and kiss him again to get some air. the merman brought him as close as possible so he wouldn't get hurt in the path.

jeongguk still closed his eyes in fear but reopened them when taehyung's fingers brushed his cheeks. he looked around to see bright light, and he understood he was finally in taehyung's world.

he tried to kiss taehyung to get some air again but he didn't let him. he smirked at the struggling boy and said "what do you want big boy?" which made jeongguk gasp, and instead of choking on water he breathed normally.

he watched taehyung with big doe eyes, filled with confusion. taehyung laughed and let go of his body, which drew a yelp out of his mouth before he realized they were both floating.

"move around beautiful." taehyung said and watched in adoration when jeongguk moved in the air, spinning and twirling around.

he moved back to taehyung and cupped his cheeks and pressed a long kiss to his lips. he let his hands get in his pink hair as he depended the kiss, finally being able to enjoy the feeling of his lips against his without the water.

he pulled away after a couple of minutes to admire his flushed face, he pecked his lips one last time and took his hands in his.

"so? where's your house?" he asked excitedly which made taehyung come out of his trance. he started to move again, bringing jeongguk with him by his waist, occasionally stealing kisses from him.

"look" the merman whispered and let jeongguk's body so he could look in front of them. he saw a huge colored castle, surrounded by colorful houses and buildings.

they had weird shapes to jeongguk, he was only used to see geometric shapes and black and white houses, those were asymmetrical and all pastel, but it was the prettiest landscape he had ever seen.

as they approached the ground, jeongguk discovered a long, fluffy blue grass, actually not grass, it was something he had never seen. he let his feet touch it and it tickled him, so he shivered and clung back onto taehyung who laughed at him.

he brought him towards the middle of what seemed like a city, where everyone was. jeongguk watched in awe all the mermaids and mermen, swimming around.

they were all different colors like taehyung had told him, everyone was smiling, and talking to each other, it was like he was dreaming, it was so different from his world.

(if you didn't understand,,, taehyung breathes through his gills so he had to do mouth to mouth to jeongguk to give him oxygen but that turned into kisses as yk the tension :)
