Chapter 2: more snacks
Will's P.O.V.
I wake up on a rock on the seabed. Last thing I remember is eating that bird... I must've dozed off after swimming away for so long and eating. I look around to see if there's anything dangerous or useful in my sights. I don't see anything in these directions but then look on the ground to see a family of crabs. The arthropods s uddle about and I want to grab one for an extra snack on my way before I swim off but they'll of course retaliate. I don't see anything I could crush them with unfortunately. I levitate my aquatic body and steady my tail, I quickly thrash about onto them as hard as I can so they don't pinch me as I whip my tail about... After half a minute I back away to see they're all dead accept for one scuddling away from me... I swim to it and punch once and hard enough to kill it. I pick it up along with the others and I'm glad that they're not turned to mush from the way I attacked them. I wonder what they taste like? I hold one up and bite it's head... Pretty good... It tends to be sweeter than fish. Crab has a softer texture while Lobster has a somewhat more chewy texture. Because they are both crustaceans, however, their flavor is unlike most fish or other meat. I travel for what feels like six more minutes but I move swiftly and come across a peculiar sea creatures known as a 'Cuttlefish' the mollusca moves so gracefully with as it's flaps flutter so carelessly in the water. I'm not going to eat it as I've already killed enough sea creatures today. I continue on and spot some sea anemone and realise the tiny fish scattered in all directions across from me... I take a moment to enjoy the nature... It can be dangerous to do this as distractions can lead to trouble such as sharks sneaking up on you and sometimes I get so calm I lay down in the ocean floor and one of these days I might touch something unpleasant. I snap out of my thoughts and look around to see nothing off-putting that I can see. I just shiver at the thought of a shark lingering beside me... (I tried thinking about it, try thinking of yourself as a mermaid being chased by one. I saw a video about a kid in an aquarium tank with a bull-shark and the shark was right behind him just moving towards him in the slowest pace I've ever seen and I found it hard to watch but I never heard if him being harmed but still, I don't think he knew it was behind him) I swim forward... Five hours pass and I'm hungry again... I take pick up one of the Crabs in my arms and take a bite till it's gone and I save the others for later. I feel like taking a gander up the surface so I float up. I look around to see the blazing sun and feel as if it's morning. No boats, no people... Silence... Until I hear squawk... It's so unexpected it feels earpiercing. I look behind me to see a Seagull and want to punch it but my efforts would only end in failiure. I take one last look at the beautiful place humanity takes for granted and not be in this cold, murderous, ocean. I take a dive back under... As I dive back in my tail rises up but comes along with me as I travel more distances... All I do is travel and eat as there is not much to do... It's repetitive and boring... Sometimes I want to meet someone but that's stupid idea and if a fishermen sees me a lot of stuff could happen... I be put on display, served as fish, sold, fillited/cut open or more... The possibilities are endless... More hours pass and as the hunger sets in and as time moves I devour a crab and then another and then another... No more crabs left in my arms but im full.
