The only thing I hate while at the surface besides the chance of people showing up is when my skin gets cold...I watch the blue sky as there are no clouds it's very beautiful and I see no people around... Just the barnacles on rocks and the birds singing. It's probably not safe to be here any longer since someone may show up. I take a couple more seconds to enjoy these rare moments of the time I spend with my head above water, I take a dive and swim further and further and further into the sea... As time which feels as if about an hour or two I see a pufferfish. I've never touched one, all my life I've been avoiding them for obvious reasons but now I'm just staying still and I notice it's body inflates making it look like a prickly balloon. All my life I've been paranoid of all the dangers in the ocean and of course a pufferfish could not compare to many of them. I swiftly swim off going further but lower myself down to the sea floor for stealth in case I find something swimming and there's a chance I could find a kelp forest for camoflouge. I think about this and levitate my body slightly because of sea creatures which hide under the sand... Stonefish, stingray and other species of critters. I lose track of how long I've been swimming and I've been swimming fast so who knows how long? I swim for a couple more minutes and I hear a strange sound... It doesn't sound threatening and I'm pretty sure I know what it is... I go even further and I see something appear in the distance, it's big and blue and as I get closer I see it is what us known as the largest thing I've seen... A blue whale and I guessed it was a whale but not this type. Sure the sound is booming but I... I snap out of those thoughts to another thought... It's coming in my direction, what if it sees the red stuff and accidentally swallows me! I mentally scream. I quickly swim in the left direction to get out of the way and don't stop till I think it's completely out of my sight when I look back... I speed through the blue which feels like even more hours then I did and I see schools of fish and as I look back the behemoth is gone. I let out a huge sigh of relief. I make my way further but I notice my hunger is catching up to me... I want to catch those fish but they'd probably outspeed me as my hunger is slowing me down and that's when it hits me of why I've became so weak from my appetite... I was swimming away from that whale for so long and fast I became so hungry. I get a thought of swimming up to the surface because I for some reason think that there is easier food to find. I swim up and find a lone raft floating with a seagull on it. Its sleeping and I sneak out on it and grab it aggressively, pull it underwater and then wait. As it stops struggling in confusion from it's animal instinct though, I'm sure a human would as well... It stops as it's been to late. I rip foff it's feathers which take a while but as my hunger gets the best of me I sink my teeth it's weak, white body... As time passes the blood travels further from me or around me and some of it floats down around my amethyst-purple tail
I've been searching up animal facts and writing them on here for fun:
Barnacles: Barnacles are thought to be one of the oldest surviving creatures on the planet as they are believed to date back millions of years. All though there will be have been some adaptions, the Barnacle is thought to have changed very little over that time. Despite the rising levels of pollution and changes in the water, Barancles are thought to be one of the few animals that are not greatly affected. The Barnacle slides two of it's six plates across to let water in when it is feeding and then closes them again which prevents the Barnacle from being to exposed to dirty water.
Blue Whales: Today, the Blue Whale is listed by the IUCN as an animal that is endangered in it's oceanic environment with less than 20,000 individuals thought to be left around the world. A hundred years ago it is estimated that the Blue Whale population was significantly higher at roughly 200'000 but numbers were obliterated due to hunting. Blue Whale populations today are thought to face no major threats with the effects of global warming melting the ice-sheets at the poles thought to be of the biggest concern. Although they are no longer hunted. (And populations in some areas are thought to actually be increasing), Blue Whales are threatened by accidents with ships.
