Summary: Rose heals Merlin, allowing them to return to the kingdom.

     I had no choice. Rose meant more to me than my own life. So I did what I had to.
                           * * * * *
     Everything that happened in that moment happened in very quick succession.
     The amulet fell to the ground and shattered into a million pieces. The sound was deafening. Rose realized what happened and began yelling and crying.
     Nimueh snapped out of her daydream and realized what was going on. She yelled in rage. Her body quickly began to deteriorate. All the years she had avoided age from her flower returned to her body.
     She grew so old that she finally fell out the window and turned to dust. Merlin took his last breath and then was silent. The tower room grew cold and dark.
     At that point, Rose lost it.
     She cried until she ran out of tears. Her grief grew so great that she screamed. Her screams tore the tower walls apart as her full power was finally released.
     A light glowed in the room. It grew brighter and brighter until Rose had to close her eyes. Then, just as soon as it appeared, it was gone.
     Rose suddenly heard a sound. "Rose? I had a dream." Rose opened her eyes and looked at Merlin. "And I think it just came true."
     "Merlin? You're alive!"
     "No I'm the ghost come back to haunt you." Merlin joked. Rose cut him off with a kiss.
     "You're alive." She repeated.
     "You can't get rid of me that easily."
     For several moments, Rose and Merlin could not move but finally, they did.
     Rose and Merlin rode Kilgharrah back to the castle. When they got there, well...

     The king and queen were still in the throne room when the guards came running in.
     "Your majesties! You're gonna wanna see this!"
     The king and queen looked at one another then ran. They ran until they got out to the courtyard. There they found Rose and Merlin waiting for them, holding hands.
     Both ran to hug Rose. The queen turned to Merlin. "Thank you."
     The king looked at Merlin. "I'm sorry. I was wrong about you. Please accept my apology."
     "I will."
     Merlin's parents also arrived and Merlin finally explained all that had happened.

     So there ya go. I had found the lost princess. The kingdom celebrated with a party that lasted two weeks and I honestly don't remember most of it.
     But once it was over, that is my favorite part....

     The palace was decorated from top to bottom with wedding decorations. Roses, daffodils, and blue daisies filled every vase.
     And then, the bride entered looking every bit the princess she is:

     The vows are made simple. Rose and Merlin are married. After this, Merlin's family was accepted into the palace and magic became a major part of life from that point on.

     And we're still living happily ever after.
