Toothless POV

I smile at the two friends as they laugh in the evening sun. their smiles are priceless. My master looks the happiest than ever before and Little Miss Fire-head's smile radiates the sun itself. A happy sight.

"I can see what's happening!" I turn to see the Fire-head's horse, and my best friend, Angus.

"What?"

"And they don't have a clue!"

"Who?"

"They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line," he stares at the two with sorrowful eyes as I listen intently. "Our quartet's down to two!"

"Oh."

"The sweet caress of twilight, there's magic everywhere. And with all of this romantic atmosphere. Disaster's in the air!" He snaps out of his daze with a determined expression "we can't let them feel the love tonight!"

I glance over at the two; They seem happy. Very happy. How can anyone be and selfish as to break what they have?

Something nudges my tail. I turn, again, to see Angus with a frown on his face. "Go on!" he orders "we can't let them fall for each other otherwise we'll be set aside like old toys!" My head snaps up at this comment. I suddenly see the couple in a new way. She's going to take my Hiccup away from me! She's going to take my best friend in the entire world away from me! I am not going to let her wicked plan succeed! They cannot feel the love tonight!

"Hey Mer?"

"Yes Hic?"

"Want to take a ride one toothless, with-with me?" he asks nervously, scratching the nape of his neck.

"You bet!" her eyes glisten in excitement as she jumps up from her sitting position. There is no way I'm going to let this ride be a success. No way!

Hiccup saddles up on my back, like usual. Fire-head sits behind him, not usual. "What do I hold onto?" she asks suddenly.

"Anything!" as soon as he says that I shoot into the sky, spiralling as I go. I feel the tension of my reins tighten "Toothless! What are you doing?" I turn back to see Red clinging to his waist, eyes tightly shut. I smirk toothlessly and dive vertically towards the raging water below. "Toothless stop!" Hiccup yells, fury dripped into his voice.

My face softens. I'm never going to get my friend back by driving Red away. I'm just going to make him drift away from me. The best thing I can do is live with it and connect with the two; even if it means getting to know Fire-head better. I level out and glide elegantly through the sky.

"That's better bud." Hic says, patting the side of my head "much better." he turns to Merida. "You can open your eyes now."

She lifts her head and squints, her eyes adjusting to the bright light of the sky. "Wow." she breathes in delight "it's amazing." she pauses, looking at me. "He's amazing."

I grin.

Maybe this won't be so bad after all.

A/n Hope you liked it. I don't think this one flowed as much as I would have liked it to have but I enjoyed writing it nonetheless.

I'm thinking of trying out new writing styles and would really appreciate it if you commented some styles you'd like me to try or a website listing some.
