Hogwarts Au Part One
I really wanted to write a drabble in a Hogwarts AU. I'm such a PotterHead. Enjoy!
Hiccup's P.O.V
''HUFFLEPUFF!!'' The sorting screamed soon after being placed on Hiccup's head. Hiccup sighed. His former Gryffindoor father would be disappointed. The three friends he had on the train had all been sorted into different houses. He'd be alone in yellow and black.
He could see Merida in Gryffindoor, Rapunzel in Ravenclaw, and Jack in Slytherin. They all had huge grins on their faces as they cheered for him. Happiness filled his chest as he walked over to the Hufflepuff table. Someone he didn't know clapped him on the shoulder. His eyes shifted over to the Gryffindoor table. He saw Merida smile at him, with her daredevil grin. His cheeks flushed, but he smiled back.
~Sixth year~
Hiccup walked out of Potions with Jack and the pair started up the steps. Jack was extremely excited to go to charms next with Ravenclaw. He and Rapunzel had recently gotten together. Hiccup and Merida were both relieved, because they didn't have to listen to their predicaments with each other as much.
"You're coming to the Quidditch game, right? It's Slytherin vrs Ravenclaw. I'm kinda glad Punzi isn't on the team now." Jack admited.
"Why? Because you don't want to play against her, or you don't want to be completely destroyed by her?" Hiccup snickered.
"Ha ha, very funny. I seem to remember your team being 'completely destroyed' by your crush."
"Merida is not my crush, she's one of my best friends!" Hiccup exclaimed, his cheeks reddening.
"I didn't say anything about Merida." Jack said with a grin.
"Shut up." Hiccup muttered as they aproched the girls.
Merida smiled at him and linked her arm in his. "Ready for Defence Against the Dark Arts Hic?"
That smile fit her perfectly, the ends reaching to her freckles that scattered acrossed her face. Her blue eyes just sparkled. Her cheeks started reddening and Hiccup realized he was staring with a ridiculous smile on his face.
"Er, sorry! I got lost in thought! But ah, yeah let's go!" He said quickly.
He glared at Jack and Punzi as they giggled. The pairs said their goodbyes and left for their classes. Merida still had her arm intertwined in Hiccup's.
Suddenly, they passed some other students, and Merida speed up. She was praticly pulling Hiccup away.
"Mer? What's going on?" He questioned.
"Don't worry about it, just walk." She replied quickly.
"Hey Mudblood! Finally find yourself someone to put up with you?" Called a Gryffindoor named Theo Bringwithers.
Hiccup felt Merida stiffen. She gripped his arm tightly, not saying anything. Furious, Hiccup wirlled around, wand drawn.
"Since when did Hufflepuffs pick fights?" Taunted a Ravenclaw girl he didn't know. "No offence, Damien."
"None taken." Damien replied. Hiccup glared at him. His own house mate. If looks could kill, Damien would be dead.
The group of seventh years of each house sneered at Merida. Did blood status really mean that much to them?
"What's wrong with you? Merida's a great witch, better than any of you!" Hiccup said, scowling. "Blood shouldn't matter!"
Theo raised an eyebrow. "She's a mudblood. Why should you care? What are you, anyway?"
"Half-blood, if it's any of your business. Who cares anyway!? It's blood! She's still an amazing witch!" Hiccup replied.
"Of course you'd say that. Go waste your time on her. You'll regret it." A Slytherin said.
"No, I won't. C'mon Mer. Let's go." Hiccup said, steering Merida away.
Hiccup had his hands on her shoulders as he led her to DADA. He could feel her trembling.
"Did you really mean what you said? About me being a great witch? I'm not, you know." Merida muttered.
"Bullshit." Hiccup swore harshly. "Merida, your fantastic at magic. Probably as good as Professor North. Who cares who your parents are? It doesn't matter. You're better in DADA then me! Probably even better than the professor!"
"I don't know..."
"Merida, you're fantastic at magic, quidditch, archery, and pretty much anything you set your mind too!" Hiccup told her.
She smiled and Hiccup's chest swelled. "Thanks Hic."

Merida's P.O.V
Merida paced back in forth in the Ravenclaw common room. She usually hung out with Punzi after class before going back to her own common room.
"It's not hard Mer. You just have to tell him! Very simple." Punzi insisted.
"As a Ravenclaw, I thought you'd be smart enough to realize THAT ISN'T AN OPTION!!" Merida yelled.
Punzi rolled her eyes as Merida continued to pace. Merida chewed on her fingernails and ran her fingers through her curly hair.
"It's not going to be like you and Jack! He doesn't like me back Punz!" Merida fretted.
Rapunzel rolled her eyes once again. "Of course it won't be like me and Jack. You guys aren't us. But Hic does like you back! And even if he didn't, it would be good to get a six year crush on your one of your best friends off your chest, don't ya think?"
Merida sighed. "I guess you're right. I'll talk to him tomorrow. Night Punz."
"Night Mer!" Punzi said as Merida left the Ravenclaw common room.
