             Hiccup's P.O.V

Merida. Merida. Merida Dunbroch. Merida Elizabeth Dunbroch. Everything about her was perfect. Every last inch was perfection. Her wild red hair, curls falling in the perfect places. Her blue eyes, deeper and more beautiful than any ocean or sky. Her curves. Oh God. Those curves were so perfect and angelic. Those freckles, he could kiss ever single one a thousand times. And her personality, don't even get him started.

There was only one thing he didn't like about perfect, amazing Merida.

And that was her best friend, Jack bloody Frost.

Sure, he was good-looking. He was athletic, he was popular, he was a good person to be friends with, but he loved her. He loved her, but not like Hiccup loved her. As far as Hiccup was concerned, no one loved Merida like he did.

Both boys were Merida's best friends, and both boys wanted more. Both boys were head-over-heals for her. Both thought he was a better partner than the other. And both loathed each other.

And poor ol' Merida didn't have a clue.

But the day everything changed, was one to remember.

The trio was walking down the street, on their way to school. Jack and Hiccup shot glares of pure hatred behind Merida's back. Icy blue crashed forest green, and electric blue saw nothing.

"So I was wondering if you'd like to see the new Star War's movie? It's just come out!"

"Who, me?" Both boys asked at the same time.

Merida raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow. "Both of you. I swear, not everything is about either of you."

But to the boys, everything was about her.

"You two have been acting so weird lately." Merida commented. "What's wrong with you guys?"

Jack glared at Hiccup from the corner of his eye. "Nothing. Everything's fine boo." He smirked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Hiccup tried his best to hide his red, angry face. It took all his power not to punch the white haired d*ckhead.

Merida uncomfortably shifted away. "Yeeeaahhh, ok I'm gonna go to class. Bye guys!"

She quickly walked off, muttering something.

"Bye Mer!" Hiccup called last minute.

Jack chuckled, and leaned against the wall. In the movies, he would have pulled out a cigarette, but this is real life people.

"You're never gonna win, Fishbone."

Hiccup glared at him, his green eyes burning into Jack. "Watch me, Snowman."

Hiccup tapped his fingers nervously on his open locker door. Frost made life loving Merida miserable. Why did he even have to exist!

"Ahem?"

Hiccup whipped around to see an angry, sheepish looking Jack. His pale face was turning red, and he looked humiliated.

"What happened to you, Snowman?" Hiccup asked, purposely using Jack's most hated nickname.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but you won. Merida and I were talking about crushes, and your hers. You win, Fishbone. You fuck this up though, you'll wish you haden't." And he just walked away. Didn't wait for a reaction, or response, he just left. Hiccup felt a bit sorry for him, but not that much. The information Snowman had just given him was still processing in his brain.

Merida liked him??

She liked him. Liked him. He was her crush. Perfect Merida liked him. Him. It suddenly clicked, and Hiccup felt like he was on the top of the world.

               Jack's P.O.V

Jack was just exiting the building, when dread filled his body. Fishbone was holding hands with Merida as she placed a small kiss on his cheek. Jack sighed. He hadn't lost his friend, but I felt like he did. But now he had to move on. Had to get over Merida who was happy liking someone else.

But if Merida was happy, that was enough, at least for him.

Sorry this is so late. This was a hard chapter to write. I've always wanted to play around with this idea, but I also don't like changing the big four friendship, or getting rid of Punzi. Maybe if I do a, part two, she'll be Jack's new love interest, but idk if I'll do a, part two. Idk, it was fun to write thou. Thanks for your request! Plz send more!! I hope you enjoyed!!
