Thanks to ShaheenParveen4 who reminded me of this TS and inspired me to complete it.

Shot#2(b)

His IshiMaa had forced him to change his stance from Rejection to Acceptance. The heart which was never ready to accept any person in his life after a series of rejection he had faced from his close ones, had broken its shield and accepted her as his mother, his IshiMaa.

When the world presumed her dead and his father made every attempt to destroy all proofs of her existence, Adi had kept her alive in him, following her guidance in every step of his life, carrying her traits in his every action, making her presence felt at every place he went. He could not bring her back to life in flesh and bones but he succeeded in keeping her soul alive and illuminated.

But today when he saw her alive, in flesh and bones, her soul that was alive within him died a brutal death. It killed him to know that his IshiMaa was alive all these years and had chosen to keep away from him, willingly. Even now, when she was in the same country and same city as him, she refused to meet him.

His mind went back to the promise she had made when they last met.

He had come home to celebrate holi with his family on his grandmother's insistence. And he was completely taken by surprise when he got to know that IshiMaa is still alive and her death was staged by his Papa and IshiMaa to save her from Nidhi.

The moment he laid his eyes on her he felt alive and he did not want to go back for the tournament.
But his IshiMaa had urged him to go back "Ab to mai wapas agayi hoon na. Ab tumhe chodkar kahin nahi jaaungi" She had said.

"Promise aap kahin nahi jaaogi na" he had asked and for the first time in life he had heard his IshiMaa say "Adi Promise"

"She broke the promise" he blabbered to himself.

The most special moment of his life, when his IshiMaa had said 'Adi Promise' for the first and last time, turned into a heartbreaking moment for him as it struck to him that his IshiMaa had backed off from the promise she made to him. It made him think that it was only Ruhi who was important for his IshiMaa, he never meant anything to her and that's why she had broken the promise given to him and kept herself away from him although she was alive for 7 long years.

Rejection!!! Once again he was rejected. And this time the rejection hurt him beyond repair. He had shed all his inhibitions and insecurities while accepting her as the assurance of her love was strong enough to make him believe that he too deserved love and he too was worth being loved. But today she too had made him feel that he was never worthy of being loved by anyone.

"Kyun?" He cried pulling his hair out in frustration.

He wiped his tears, deciding he would not waste his time crying over the rejection this time. Determined to find an answer from her, he rushed to the hospital and barged into her ward.

His eyes caught the sight of his IshiMaa lying on the hospital bed with a bandage on her forehead. It took him back to the day when he had acknowledged her as his IshiMaa.

The day when his real mother had left him to burn in the fire to save her own life, while this woman had jumped into the fire putting her life at stake to save his life. Her fractured foot had not yet healed, yet she stepped forward to protect him, carried his huge grown up body on her sleek shoulder and rushed out of the house. She had pushed him and Ruhi away when she saw the building cracking down on her due to the earthquake and surrendered herself under it.

He had still not recovered from the shock, when his father and sister searched maniacally for her and dug her out from under the debris of the building.

On recovering from the shock and regaining his consciousness at the hospital, the first thing he asked for was her well-being. He was adamant to see her. She was lying there on the hospital bed with a bandage on her forehead. 'IshiMaa' he had mumbled for the first time in his life.

"IshiMaa" he mumbled with that memory playing on his mind and just like that his anger, his frustration, his determination to demand an answer from her, vanished into thin air.

A tear rolled down as he slumped on a stool kept close to her bed and watched her closely.

"Meri IshiMaa zinda hai!" He whispered making himself believe that she was alive and in front of him. And he realised in that moment nothing mattered to him more than the fact that she was alive. She must have had her own reasons for staying away from them, from him.
No, he had not forgiven her for leaving him, nor had he pardoned her for the breaking of her promise. But he would wait for her to come back to him which he was sure she would, someday. On that day he would ask her the reason for leaving him and demand an explanation for breaking the promise she had given to him.

He felt her stir in her sleep, he quickly wiped his tears and turned back to leave before she wakes up.

He was near the door when he heard her call him "Beta"

Oh how much he yearned to her calling him beta!

A fresh tear escaped his eye and travelled his cheek, settling at the edge of his lip which had curved hearing her call.

"Kahan jaa rahe ho?" She asked.

"Mujhe kuch kaam hai" he said without turning back.

"Thodi der keliye mere paas ruk jaao. Tumhe dekh ke mujhe mere Adi ki yaad aati hai" she pleaded.

He shut his eyes tightly letting all the welled up emotions flow on his cheeks in the form of tears. "I am sorry mujhe jaana hoga" he spoke hurriedly and fled out of the ward.

He felt helpless as he held the railing of the passage and tried not to cry for denying her request. He was afraid he would not be able to control himself around her and spill out the truth that he was her Adi.

Waqt Nahi Deta Hoon Tujhko
Ye Meri Majboori Hai

Her words still rang in his ears making him feel guilty for denying her request. Being her son, it was his duty to fulfill  every wish, every request of hers.

Haq Tera Hi Pehla Hai

Phir Bhi Tujhse Hi Doori Hai

Unable to control the urge to go back to her, he strode towards her ward, when he met Mihika half way through.

Her sight reminded him of her words "Tumhe tumhari IshiMaa ki kasam hai" and just like that, he stepped back.

"I am sorry Adi" said Mihika patting his shoulder, understanding his pain.

He burst into tears and fell into her arms saying "I want to hug her Chitti. Saat saal se unki mamta keliye taras raha hoon. Mai kya karoon Chitti"

Door Raha Hoon Tujhse Itna
Mujhko Gale Se Lagaa

Mihika had no words to comfort him. She just held him close and caressed his back.
