He Should've Loved Me Back!
Alternate Ending
"Eric Thompson, the culprit in Annalisa Williams rape case, has been sentenced for eighteen years in prison. But as his mental condition is not normal, his sentence will start in government's asylum. The infamous Boston University has cancelled his graduation degree, and denies to call him its student."
The reporter continues to blabbers her shit after that, but Louis's mind refuse to register anything other than the headline of this case.
He switches the TV off and decides to go for a walk to keep his mind off from certain things. He locks the apartment and left his building as fast as he could to breath in fresh air.
What he saw after that, though, denied him that. A Lamborghini stops on the road, exactly opposite from him, in front of a showroom for bridal dresses.
That's not what halted him in his steps, but the person steps out from it. She was none other than the same spoiled brat from that University in which he was waiting five months ago.
All the feelings, from which he was running, hit him straight in the chest. The familiar guilt, anger and sadness, all come rushing back into his head, making his vision blur. He found him breathing so hard that for a moment he consider of getting admit into the hospital.
On the other hand, she went into the store with another lady, chattering happily, like she didn't do anything or as if nothing happened to that innocent boy.
His eyes start burning as he run back to his apartment. All he ever wanted was money for his dying son from cancer and Ana offered him the same by offering any amount of money that he wanted to keep his mouth shut, in addition to the 500 bucks she gave him earlier. Then how could've a father in him denied this offer?
After getting on the bed he tries to empty all emotions out but the guilt of destroying a innocent's life just doesn't go away.
He cried his eyes out that night and next day went to work, pretending as if nothing happened yesterday. If she could pretend then he could at least try so.
But someone's watching him from the other end of the restaurant from where he is standing. Her calculated eyes didn't miss his guilt and sadness whenever his eyes land on the headline on newspaper in hands of a customer.
She knew that she would find him even if it took her five months. Only if she'd have found him earlier, then she won't have lose yesterday's case.
When Lea exited the court, losing her second case in her entire career, she decided to follow Ana, which lead her to a bridal shop. At first she was confused by her reaction because Ana was too normal to be a rape victim who just got her justice. Lea almost gave up her hope to find anything useful when her eyes landed on a guy standing opposite from them, having a mental breakdown while watching Ana.
As she concentrated on his face, she felt like a boat who crossed the storm and got that first ray of sunshine between those thunder clouds. Following him, she reached this restaurant which is undoubtedly his new job because she hadn't left any card unturned while preparing for the case.
She waits for him to come on her table and turned the same waiter twice, when he came to ask her what she needed. But she can't really tell him what she actually needs is his fellow colleague.
After collecting Table 4's order, Louis rechecks it but someone pats on his right shoulder. He turns to right and found Noah pointing towards a woman with confused expression.
"Do you know her?" He asks Louis.
He looks again, this time with concentration. Her face looks familiar but he can't really remember where he had watch her. So he motions his head signalling no.
Noah looks more confused but that expression replaces itself by a smug one like he just solved a mystery.
"Brooooo, I guess she's into you. I went two times to ask her what she wants but she turned me down both times and her eyes are on you since the time she came here" he pauses and go near Louis's ears. "I know she looks older but the older the woman, the more you get" he completes the sentence with a wink.
Louis makes a disgusted face but his brain kicks in and urges him to find why she's here. He goes to her table and watch her eyes go wider with happiness and hope.
"How may I help you?" He questions.
"Not here. Here's my card. Meet me at Lyla's cafe two blocks away from here." She slips a card in his hand and goes out from the cafe leaving a more confused Louis behind. But as his eyes land on the card, he immediately knows who that lady was and he should meet her if he wants to live in peace again.
He called on that number and reaches the same cafe at evening as she told him. He found her waiting inside, so he moves his legs forward and join her.
The conversation, that happened between them that evening changed their lives forever.
After three months:
"Not a long time ago we covered the story on the Annalisa v/s Eric rape case and today's final hearing has cleared all the doubts and the re-hearing of the case shows its importance.
The witness provided by Lea Jones turned out to be a biggest missing part in this whole picture and told the Court how Annalisa bribed him to give Eric a drugged drink so that she could do what she did.
On the second hearing, when police investigated Annalisa, she broke down and told that she did it out of revenge of uncompleted one sided first love as I quote.
Now in after four more hearings, today in final hearing Court found Annalisa Williams guilty of forming a false case against Eric Thompson and sentenced her a life long term of prison.
However, Court also found Louis a partner in crime, but as he becomes the prime witness to bring out the truth and the reason behind Louis's action made court to be soft on him and leave him with a warning.
Eric will be given best treatment and all the expenses of that will be paid by Annalisa Williams with a fine of $500,000 for causing Eric mentally trouble and a huge harm on his image."
Reporter turns towards an law expert to know her views on this but Louis switches the TV off, knowing that first time in eight months, he will be able to sleep soundly without any guilt clutching his throat and a ton weigh rock on his chest.
