She is a flower but she isn't soft; when her petals fall, they hit like bullets

"ARE you sure this is the Inhuman you saw in the husk?" Daisy asked Jemma as she looked at the picture she pulled up on the computer.

"Absolutely positive," Jemma stated, nodding her head. "I knew Senator Nadeer was connected to him somehow, and in my research on her, I recognized him... Vijay Nadeer... her own brother, if you can believe it."

Daisy narrowed her eyes as she examined the picture. "Yeah, but there's zero evidence that he's been missing. He's been posting on Facebook, Twitter. His bills are paid. He even recently signed up for a Master Class in directing," she told her, confused.

"But there have been no new photos of Vijay in the last seven months," Jemma told her.

Daisy clicked her tongue. "So either he's suddenly gotten camera-shy or..."

"Or someone's hiding him," Jemma interrupted me.

Daisy shook her head, pursing her lips. "Not someone... the Senator, considering she's the country's leading anti-Inhuman hatemonger." She turned around, crossed her arms, and leaned up against the desk.

"I'd have a much better idea where she was hiding him if the Director hadn't insisted I wear a hood before going on assignment. Just awful." she frowned, looking down at the ground.

Daisy looked to her right at her. "It's hard to breathe in those things, huh?" She teased, grinning and she grinned right back at her.

"It is nice having someone here to talk to again." Jemma looked up at her, "You, specifically."

"Someone other than Fitz?" Daisy asked, raising her eyebrows.

She rolled her eyes. "Oh, well, of course, Fitz, but he has been rather distracted lately."

"Distracted how?"

She rolled her eyes again. "Aida. You know how boys can be with their robots." She humorlessly chuckled.

Daisy chuckled for a second before stopping, frowning, "Actually, I really don't."

Her smile quickly vanished as she looked over her shoulder at something. "Speaking of the Director, here comes his little Smithers now."

Daisy turned around to look at him as she pursed her lips. Jemma crossed her arms. "What do you want, Burrows?"

He looked to Jemma for a second before turning to Daisy. The Director would like a word with Quake."

Daisy stood up and rolled her eyes. "My name's Daisy."

He looked her in the eyes, rolling his. "Well, not according to the press release. Now, if you'd follow me, ma'am..." Se looked to Jemma and sighed.

MOMENTS later, Daisy was inside the directors office. He threw a newspaper on the table in front of them, the cover showed the two of them. "I must admit... we make a pretty impressive pair."

She looked up at him as she picked up the newspaper, grimacing. "Well, looks like we're stuck with each other." She sent him a forced smile.

He smiled. "Well, I was just trying to make the most of the precarious situation you put me in."

She narrowed her eyes. "Is this when I get read the riot act?"

"Not by me." he shook his head. "However, if you're as smart as they say, then you'll know that, uh, I saved you from being thrown in prison."

"You saved face," She scowled. "You turned it into a publicity stunt."

He stared into her eyes, trying to look tough. "You already had plenty of publicity..." he held up a finger everytime he named off something. "Destruction of public property, assault, armed robbery..."

"I never carry a weapon," Daisy told him.

"You are the weapon." She pursed her lips as he angrily shouted at her, "The public was turning against you. Now? They look up to you. You're welcome!" He sighed and turned away from Daisy as she tried her hardest to not to punch him in his stupid face. "Okay, this isn't how I wanted this to go. Uh, we're both Inhuman. And as you say, we're stuck with each other, so why not make the most of it? I read your written statement, and I believe it. You were just trying to protect the innocent. And I know you're new here, but that's what S.H.I.E.L.D. is all about."

She leaned m back and narrowed her eyes. ""New here?""

He smiled. "It was a joke. I was making a joke to break the ice."

She awkwardly nodded her head. "Got it." She looked around the office and looked at the picture of him saving a woman. "Seems they look up to you, too ... the hero of Vienna. It's a nice pic." She looked back to him.

"Not as big a deal as they made it." He shook his head. "They gave me too much credit."

"You don't get to be modest and have a framed glamour shot on your desk," she told him and he chuckled.

"Fair point." He nodded. "Look, we're a team now, and I have a saying... a tea—"

She interrupted him before he could get the words out, "I read the motivational poster in the bathroom."

He nodded. "Good. Well, um, the team trust has been eroded for both of us, but I'm hoping we can earn it back ... tackle problems together within the administrative structure and start—"

"You want to tackle problems?" She asked him, getting straight to the point. " The Watchdogs ... enemy number one. I believe they're funded internationally. They have ties to people within the U.S. government."

"I don't want to chase conspiracy theories."

She glared at him. Why is he taking this so lightly? "It's not a theory if I can prove it."

He glared at her. "I want to chase hard facts, like the fact that Senator Nadeer is aware of an Inhuman who's being held against his will."

Daisy nodded. "Now we're talking."

"Agent Simmons has seen his face," he stated. If she can I.D. him, maybe sh—"

She interrupted him again, "She did. He's the Senator's brother ... breaking news."

His mouth hung open. "How fitting. No wonder she used all those cloak-and-dagger methods. You got a lead on his whereabouts?"

Daisy shook her head. "No sign of him, but she's been out of the office all week."

"Okay." He nodded. "Agent Rodriguez is still recovering, so that leaves you, me, and Agent Simmons. Wheels up in 10." He went to walk away.

"Wait, wait, wait," she stumbled out.  "What? Where are we going?"

He looked at her like she was stupid. "To rescue him."

THE Director, Jemma, and Daisy were sitting in the Zephyr, the director opposite of them.

"I'm still feeling very optimistic about this mission," the director spoke, looking between both females.

There was a pause before Jemma spoke, "I bear much of the blame for this Aida situation. Science and Technology are my responsibility—"

"It's not your fault," Daisy told her, reaching over to take her hand in hers. "I knew the risks that came with using powerful autonomous machinery. I knew the dangers and-"

"And you thought I was one of them," the director spoke up, looking at Jemma. "You didn't want that technology to fall under the control of a Director you didn't know."

She hesitantly shook her head. "No, I did not. But now it's completely out of control, and for that, I am sorry."

He tilted his head to the side. "Well, Agent Coulson will have to handle it. We have our own life to save. And, uh... I'm sorry I put the bag over your head."

Daisy looked between them, awkwardly, before looking over at him. "Okay. So, what's the play here, Director? How do we find this senator and her brother?"

He fixed his suit and crossed his legs. "Normally, I'd use my contacts up on the Hill, go in, rattle a few cages, see what drops out, but I don't want to draw too much attention," he stated.

"Downside of being front-page news," Daisy retorted, tilting her head.

"Which means we need to find a more covert way in," Jemma stated.

"Well, seeing as you both have more experience with undercover work, I'm open to suggestions." He looked to the both of them which made them glance to each other.

THEY listened in in Jemma's conversation through the earpiece.

"Sorry for the wait, Miss Beaks. What can I do for you?" The desk guy asked.

She spoke in a southern accent. "It is absolutely crucial I speak with Senator Nadeer about Bill 2474."

"The Armed Forces Bill?"

"That's right," Jemma stated.

"So, you're Margaret's replacement. As if anyone could replace Margaret." There was a pause as he chuckled. "Well, unfortunately, the Senator is away on business. Maybe we can schedule you in for a conference call later this week."

"Or maybe I could just take the lobby's sizable campaign funds to a senator who's willing to speak right now," Jemma spoke, sounding head strong. Daisy has got to say, she has defintely changed since when she first met her.

"Wait right here. Let me see what I can do."

"You know, I have to admit..." Mace — the director — trailed, "Jemma is much tougher than I had originally given her credit for."

Daisy nodded, smiling. "Yeah, well, being in S.H.I.E.L.D. will do that to you." She paused, remembering everything that has happened since she joined shield. "I think Simmons has been kidnapped like three times since I've known her."

"Really?"

"Yeah, well, only twice on this planet," she told him just as the feed from the ear piece glitched and there was a loud of grunting and thuds being heard from it. "Jemma, are you there? Is everything okay?"

There was a pause before she answered, out of breath, "Yeah. A little bloody and bruised, but I'll survive," she inhaled. "We may have a bit of a political situation on our hands when he wakes up," she breathed in heavily. "But now we can trace that call."

Daisy looked to Mace, smirking.

THEY walked into the Senators home, standing only a few feet away from her.

"I'm surprised to see you here, Director Mace, especially in the company of Quake, a known terrorist." Ellen looked at Daisy in disgust but she didn't let her look offend her, she just held her head high.

"Guess you haven't been watching the news lately. Agent Johnson here is a national hero..." Mace looked back at Daisy. "Helped save a lot of lives in L.A." She sent him a small smile, nodding her head.

"Really?" Ellen looked to Mace and back to Daisy, looking down her nose at the younger girl. "Is that what they're saying? Funny how easily the press can be fed a false narrative."

Daisy looked at her bodyguard and eyed his weapon of choice. "Is that a Hex Mag?" She asked. "It's not really something the Secret Service uses, but it's a favorite among the Watchdogs." She gave Mace a look.

He looked back at her and nodded. "Guess it's not just a theory after all." He looked back to Ellen.

She still held her head high, though. "These men are simply providing security. The world has become a very dangerous place because of people like you. Why, even today, I had an aide attacked in my office... which is why I'm sure you understand my wariness to have S.H.I.E.L.D. agents show up uninvited to my private property, especially if they wish me harm." She looked specifically at Daisy which made her scoff.

Mace took a step towards her. "I can assure you we want no such thing. But I do have reason to believe that your brother's being held here against his will."

"At gunpoint," Jemma added.

"That's a serious accusation you're making." Ellen had a panicked look in her eyes but she tried to hide it.

Daisy scoffed, again. "Well, if you have nothing to hide, I'm sure you wouldn't mind us taking a quick look around."

"Actually, I would mind," she scowled. "Does General Talbot even know you're here?"

Mace shook his head. "This operation doesn't concern Talbot."

She smirked slightly. "It will once I return to D.C. Unless you have some paperwork from the U.N., I think it's time you leave."

Her bodyguards all cocked their guns, staring them down.

THEY were then being escorted out when they heard a gunshot go off. They all flinched and turned around. Daisy grabbed the nearest guard, latched onto his arm, and kicked the other guard in the chest, knocking him down. She flipped the guys arm behind her back, twirled around, grabbed the back of his neck, and slammed his head into the wall.

By the time she ran upstairs to join the Mace and Jemma, Vijay was running off with his sister, getting in a helicopter before she could stop him.

"Dammit." Daisy kicked the wall, running a hand through her hair, knowing that he wasn't going survive for long.

Before she could lash out, her phone rung loudly. She sighed and answered it, "Yes?"

"We need your help,"

Those were the only words she needed to hear that made her look to Mace with pleading eyes. "My family is in trouble. I need to go home. Now," she stated, hanging up her phone.

He looked at her, sighing.
