Skies were blue now they're all cloudy

HIVE was telling Daisy the story on how he had become what he is now. It was a really sad story which made her feel bad for him. "It was in that moment my world had changed forever. The Kree Reapers brought me back to their ship and began the experiment. I didn't know it then, but the Reapers were using their own Kree blood to transform my DNA. Once they changed what I was, the Reapers took the final step, fulfilling the promise of what I would become."

She placed her hand on his, sending him a small smile. "So, that's how you became an Inhuman."

"Myself and many others. Put through the Kree experiment thousands of years ago." She nodded along with his words. "These first Inhumans... they were your ancestors." He turned to the three old Hydra agents, "Your ancestors started Hydra. You fought to bring me back, yet are the only faithful to evade being captured after Gideon Malick's spineless betrayal. Well... the time has come for your reward."

"Thank you." the younger of the three spoke up, "But... what does that have to do with your story?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Hive rhetorically asked. "We've been working hard to re-create the Kree experiment. And you're next."

HIVE and Daisy were walking down the street together, talking.

"This town represents the worst of humanity... allowing the greed of a few to destroy the needs of many. Their water was poisoned, which drove them out. The great failing was their unwillingness to band together."

"Sometimes it's hard to join forces." Daisy told him, smiling. "You need a good leader."

He stopped and turned to her, "Like Coulson?"

Daisy nodded. "He was the reason why I joined S.H.I.E.L.D."

He put on a blank face. "S.H.I.E.L.D. is no better than those Kree Reapers, both making soldiers for their never-ending wars."

She looked down. "My friends at S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted to stop wars, not start them," Daisy defended them, looking up at him again.

"By building giant battleships floating in the sky?" She opened her mouth, ready to say something when he spoke up again, "The only reason S.H.I.E.L.D. exists is to fight wars."

"But isn't that why we exist?" Sue crossed her arms. "I mean, that's what the Kree Reapers were hoping to make, right? Soldiers."

He tilted his head down at her. "Which is not what I became."

She smiled. "Sometimes, the world's greatest miracles happen by accident." He smiled down at her as they made their way to where their lab was set up.

"The world I was born into was primitive. It has evolved at a remarkable pace while I was away," He explained to her.

"So, what happened back then, to get you kicked off of Earth?"

"People saw the connection I had with other Inhumans, and that made them afraid. That fear bred paranoia, which led to civil war."

"Not much has changed, really," Daisy mumbled, entwining her fingers together.

He nodded. "Only now we have the ability to re-create the Kree experiment." He looked to Radcliff who was setting up everything. "Are the patients ready, Dr. Radcliffe?"

"Yes..." Radcliff turned to Hive. "Not that you did us any favors with your alien-abduction story. Took a good hour to assure them there'd be no probes of any sort."

"Well, your method is much more elegant," Hive spoke sarcastically.

Radcliff chuckled. "Not to mention more efficient, now that I've added the Terrigen Crystals to the prokaryotic compound."

She stepped forward, impressed. "W — You can change their DNA and turn them Inhuman, all at the same time?"

He grinned. "Ah, the old one-two punch." She looked to the agents who were trapped to tables. "That particular bit of ingenuity was my idea. So..." he clapped his hands. "To the moment at hand."

Hive spoke up, "The world fears our kind of power because not everyone has it. Only billionaires can build iron suits. Only the military can make super soldiers, which can only lead to a war of its own, whereas I plan to apply a more, uh, collectivist philosophy."

Radcliff nodded. "Does, uh, does that mean we can get started?"

"Yes." Hive gave Radcliff a deadly glare.

"Right. Great." He pressed a button, machines started whirring, the blue liquid that was in the tubes started flowing towards the agents, injecting them.

For a few seconds, everything was calm and quiet. And then the agents started thrashing and screaming.

Then everything went quiet again, their skin sunk in,turning into a pale but purple like color, liquid squirted out of their heads before their bodies sunk in, and their faces melted.

DAISY leaned up against the wall, watching James play pinball. "One Martian Multi-ball, three Bumper Blasters, and a 3-Way Rocket Combo. Boom! Good luck beating that score." He walked passed her and Daisy took his place.

"Better keep your hat on, Dundee, 'cause somebody don't play when it comes to pinball," Daisy told him, amused as she slid in a coin, and started playing the game.

"This beer is bloody wonderful."

She furrowed her eyebrows. "I thought Aussies hated American beer." She let out an annoyed breath and slammed her palms on the glass of the game; she had already lost.

"Only when we got to pay for it," he told Daisy as she made her way over to him. "It is good to be back in the real world again."

She took a seat beside him. "Yeah, what made you go all Ted Kaczynski in that trailer, anyway?"

"Don't know, really." He shrugged, looking her up and down. "Just never found people to be my cup of tea. They didn't like me. I didn't like them, so I thought I'd do everyone a favor and move as far away as humanly possible."

She looked him in the eyes. "That sounds pretty lonely."

He frowned. "Yeah. Never really figured on that part."

"Aww." She chuckled, grinning. "You're a little baby bird, all fixed up and back in the wild."

"I'm not keen on infantilizing, but I would be willing to let it slide for a proper dance." He grabbed her hand, pulled her out of her seat, and twirled her.

"Oh." She laughed as he pressed her up against him. She placed her hands on his chest and pulled back. "Okay. Let's don't get your rhinestones in a bunch, cowboy. Let's just keep it to pinball."

He groaned, "Please tell me you're not pining over stinkin' Lincoln."

Daisy tilted her head at him and crossed her arms, actually finding herself thinking about Stiles. "You know, James, just because you don't care about anyone else doesn't mean the rest of us don't."

He held up his hands. "Sorry. I didn't mean to offend. It's just... you were S.H.I.E.L.D. So those people you care about are the same ones that are trying to stop what we're doing here."

She rolled her eyes. "It's not their fault. They don't know any better."

"Doesn't matter if they know any better or not," He spat at her, "They're on the opposite side. I can't see any way it doesn't end badly for them."

She looked down, reflecting thoughts. "There might be one way."

"Oh, yeah? And what's that?"

She looked up at him, smirking. "We make them understand."

DAISY walked towards Hive, confused, "Alisha said you wanted to see me."

He looked up at her. "You and I share similar paths. We were both created by outside forces."

She furrowed her eyebrows. "I'm not sure I'm following."

"My powers were given by the Kree... yours by S.H.I.E.L.D. They're the ones who made us."

Daisy tilted her head, still confused on why he wanted her. "Why are you worried about S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

He stood up fully, looking down at her. "Because I'm curious if you can defeat what made you."

She stood tall. "The people at S.H.I.E.L.D. are my friends."

He intensified his look as he gazed down into her brown eyes. "Friends who will turn on you, who will try and sabotage the connection we share."

"Only because they don't understand, but they will if we can make them share our connection." She smiled up at him, tilting her head

"You want to put your friends through the Kree experiment," He realized, seemingly calm about it.

She crossed her arms. "Once Radcliffe has worked out the kinks, yeah. Yeah, I do." She nodded her head, grabbing his hand.

"They may not be receptive to that idea," He forced out, growing angry.

"Well, I have to at least try. It's the only way we can save them."

He grabbed her face in his hands. "And what if you fail, if they decide to turn on you instead, to come after us with their weapons of war, to kill me, to kill all of us? What then?"

She stood tall and spoke confidently, "Then I would rip their hearts out."

He smiled, letting go of her face. "Hearing that comes as a relief, especially now that our plans have changed." He gazed down at her intently, "I was hoping to spare you this, but it was the only way. They're coming for us."

"Who's coming?" She asked, "S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Not the ones who made you... the ones who made me."

"The Kree are here?" She asked in disbelief, kinda angry by this fact.

"How did they even find us?"

"I sent them a signal."

Daisy threw her hands up. "The artifacts from James' trailer—"

"Are a failsafe to be used if the Inhuman experiment ever got out of control."

She sighed. "In case of emergency, call Kree headquarters."

He turned to Daisy. "These Kree are not from their home world. They're Reapers. They exist only to hunt."

"And to find humans for your makers."

He nodded. "For thousands of years, they've remained in stasis, orbiting our solar system."

She scrunched her face up. "So, they're coming here to do what... clean up their mess? These are the only things that can defeat you. Those are your exact words."

"The Reapers are my greatest fear, but with your help, I believe we will... rip out their hearts." He made a face, looking at her in amusement. "Those words are yours."

She shook her head. "That's really not what I meant. I heard that May fought a Kree before. They won't be easy to kill."

He nodded his head again. "These Reapers are even deadlier, which will make your task more difficult."

"My task?"

"For this experiment to work, we need blood from a living Kree. And I want you to get it."

DAISY shook the ground, hiding behind a pillar in the lab. When SHE heard a Kree come in, and the scared voice of Radcliff, she came out of her hiding place.

"Inhuman filth," The Kree spat and was about to run at her, but she threw out her hand, and he went backwards. But, he easily stopped himself and landed on his feet, swinging his machete around. He ran at her and she easily dodged his huge machete, and punched him a couple times in a row on his stomach and then his face. He steadied his balance and swung his machete at her, but she easily kept dodging.

Daisy put her hands on the ground and did a cartwheel, kicking it in the face before she stood up again and tried to punch it. It caught her hand and pushed her back roughly to where she went flying back into the table, falling to the ground.

"You said you were going to handle this thing. Now we are both gonna die!" Radcliff shouted at her and she stood up again.

"Nobody's dying here today." Daisy threw out her hand again, sending more pressure towards his arm where he dropped his machete. She then aimed her hands at his feet, and he roughly landed on his knees, groaning. She aimed the shock wave back at his arm, bending his arm backwards. She walked behind it, and shoved her hand into it's back, the shock wave hitting hid spine, breaking it.

"What was that last sound?" Radcliff had his face scrunched up in disgust

"The spine. Now drain it."

DAISY smirked, watching as Radcliff drained the Kree. "Poor guy. He doesn't have much longer," he pointed out but she didn't care.

"Will there be enough blood for the experiment to work?" Daisy asked, only worried if they got enough blood.

"Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you were fantastic. We should have all we need in the next hour. In fact, I'm happy to take it from here. I-I-If you've got somewhere else you need to be, then feel free to—"

"She's coming with me."

Daisy turned around to face a very determined Mack. She sighed, annoyed. "I told Fitz to stay away."

Mack shook his head. "No can do... not when my partner needs help."

"I don't need your help," she spat, narrowing her eyes.

"There's plenty of evidence here to the contrary," he told her, his eyes also narrowed.

She shook her head. "You don't understand. I'm doing this to help you."

"And now is murdering a blue alien gonna help me?"

She smiled. 'It's the only way to save you. We're gonna make you into an Inhuman."

He blinked, his angry face turning into a shocked and concerned one, "This isn't you."

Daisy shook her head, smiling. "I know this is hard for you to hear, but this is me. I'm not lost anymore. Everyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. can finally stop trying to save me."

"This is different."

"Is it? I mean, first, S.H.I.E.L.D. rescues me from my terrifying life in Beacon Hills, and then from my admittedly not-so-great parents, and now, once again, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s rallied the troops to save poor Daisy," she spat, clenching her hands at her sides.

"Because you're sick!" He shouted, gesturing to her, "That... thing is a parasite. It's messing with your head."

"That's what S.H.I.E.L.D.'s been doing!" She shouted back at him, "Look at us, Mack! You were a mechanic, I was a hacker, and now, somehow, we're soldiers?"

"The world's changing," He stated, trying to stay calm, "We had to adapt."

Daisy shook her head at his words. "We had no choice. S.H.I.E.L.D. made us into what it needed."

"No." He shook his head. "Nobody at S.H.I.E.L.D. made you do anything."

She took a step towards him, tilting her head. "But Coulson knew I was lost, so he'd offered up his team of misfit toys just to fill that emptiness. To fill that void!"

"That team cares about you," He defended them, "I care about you."

"So what's that make us... friends?"

"Friends. Partners." He nodded, determined.

"Bobbi was your partner once. How'd that work out for you?" Daisy challenged, liking how she was ruffling his feathers.

"You know damn well Bobbi and Hunter left S.H.I.E.L.D. to protect us!" He told her roughly.

"No." She shook her head. "They left S.H.I.E.L.D. because there was no reason to stay, because nobody else at S.H.I.E.L.D. mattered to them. It wasn't hard to leave. But I think you should leave here, right now."

Mack pursed his lips, shaking his head in disappointment. "Part of you wants to come back. That's how we found you."

"What are you talking about?" She asked him, confused.

"Three hours ago, we received security footage of you outside this garage." She narrowed her eyes at him as he said, "It sent a red flag up our system, the same system you helped create."

She scoffed. "So what... you think that I meant for this to happen?"

He shook his head, slowly walking towards her. "It wasn't an accident. Something inside you is resisting."

She sneered. "I slipped up because I wasn't thinking like a spy anymore, because I don't need to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent anymore!" She took a threatening step forwards.

"Tremors..."

She was angry now. "No, no, Mack. I cared about you, too. After what happened with my parents, I needed someone, and you... you were almost like a big brother to me. But let's be honest... you struggle to be a real brother to the one that you have."

"Leave Ruben out of this." He glared at her, his town hard.

"I understand how you're feeling." She scoffed. "But you don't need to feel alone anymore. We can fix it."

Mack shook his head. "Now, what you're feeling... it's not real."

"What we feel is reality. It's the way the world was meant to be!" She told him, tilting her head.

"Not my world."

Tears came to her eyes at his words. She really didn't want to kill him, but she also really wanted to kill him at the same time. It confused her to no end, and she felt something in her pull back, but the anger and hurt got to her. "I really wanted to save you, Mack."

"Yeah. Me, too."

A pulsing noise was heard and Daisy turned around to see the Kree turning to ash. She turned to Mack as he said. "If I can't save you, I guess I'll save everyone else."

She angrily threw out her hand, knocking him so far back that he landed in the middle of the road. She marched towards his groaning figure. "You should have stayed away!" She bellowed, completely livid now.

"Wait!" He grunted, standing up. He tried to touch her, but she pushed his hand away from her and hit his wrist with a shock wave, breaking it. He looked up at her with pleading eyes, "Please. I'm not gonna fight you."

She punched him multiple times in the stomach before sending a roundhouse kick to his side; He fell to the ground. She punched him in the chest again and when he grabbed her arm, she shoved it down with a shock wave, doing the same with the other arm.

She stepped over him. "I wanted you to be a part of this." She sent multiple punches to his chest and face, taking out her anger. "We could have had a connection that was real."

"Daisy, look at yourself. You don't have to do this!" He exclaimed, stressing his words because he could barley breath.

She panted, putting her hand above his heart, sending a shock wave through him. His screams echoed through her head, but she didn't pay any mind to it as she was hell bent on ending this.

And then she fell backwards, a surging pain going through her bicep. She groaned as Hive gently pulled her into him, his arms going around her protectively. And they watched as Mack left with May.

DAISY groaned as Radcliff wrapped HER bicep after he had cleaned and stitched her wound.

"I ripped out its heart... as discussed," Hive spat. "But you failed us."

"I tried to stop him." Daisy winced as pain flared through her arm.

"Then your efforts were lacking. Not only did your friend destroy everything we've been working towards, he also got away. We put too much trust in you. Your ties to S.H.I.E.L.D. are stronger than you admit. Leaves me with questions."

"No." She pushed herself away from Radcliff. "You were right to trust me. I'm finished with S.H.I.E.L.D. And actually, I have answers. The DNA you need... I have it."

He turned to her, "Inhuman DNA is not enough. We needed to drain actual Kree blood."

She smirked. "Which is what I have pumping through my veins. Coulson used it to bring me back after Kate shot me." She winced again, remembering when the team told her that information. "So, if you want this experiment to work... drain me."

She held out her arms to her side, standing tall.
