Middle fingers up, put them hands high
"HEY, Fitz." Daisy turned around from where she was looking into the containment module to see Fitz approaching Bobbi and her. "Are you coming with us?" She asked him, generally curious.
"My work's done," he told her, holding a brief case, "I'm just gonna put this in the Director's Cabin." They watched as he walked pass them.
"So, what do you know about this conference?" Bobbi asked Daisy as they went through boxes, packing.
She sighed. "I know it's small, secret, just a few countries." Her lips curled, "They're calling it "a symposium on the alien contagion. No wonder everyone is afraid of us when they use words like that." She threw her hand up, angry. "And you know, we're only part alien, and it's not a disease... it's an awakening."
"Interesting word choice."
"I mean, for me," Daisy told her, "Terrigenesis made me who I was supposed to be. I was given a gift, and I use it to stop bad people from doing bad things."
"Unfortunately, some of those bad people were also inhumans."
Daisy turned to her, but her back was to her. "Yeah, well, you know who else does bad things are humans, but you don't see any symposiums on the human contagion."
"Humans, we know." Bobbi gave her an amused look. "Inhumans are brand-new territory. People fear what they don't understand." Daisy closed her eyes and calmed herself, knowing what she was saying, was the truth. "Any word from Lincoln? How's his field op with May going?"
"Just a trial run," Daisy told her, lowering a metal piece. "But having been there myself, I'd say he's miserable."
"HE killed my friends, Izzy and Idaho!" Hunter shouted at General Talbot. "I watched them die!"
"He was brainwashed by Hydra," Talbot told him calmly, "He didn't know what he was doing. It took us months to undo their dirty work. He's a good kid."
"He's a murderer," Bobbi pointed out.
May spoke up, "And he had a criminal record long before Hydra got their hands on him."
"He's from the streets. He made some mistakes," Talbot defended him. "He's reformed."
"I believe everyone deserves a second chance." Daisy gave Coulson a look. "But taking him with us on a covert mission doesn't seem like the place to test it."
"It's a crazy world out there, full of powered people." Daisy felt as if that was directed towards her. "I finally have one of my own. I don't leave home without him."
"What are you saying?"
"He doesn't go, I don't go."
"Fine." Daisy glared at the back of his head "We'll go without you." She then turned to Coulson. "We don't need him."
He gave her a look. "Actually, we do." He put his hands on his hips. "If the acting head of our own ATCU doesn't show up, it sends a bad message... not to mention it will embarrass the president and destroy any hope of an international coalition."
Hunter stepped forward. "What are you saying?"
Coulson nodded towards Talbot, "He goes."
"You can't be seri—"
Coulson interrupted him, "This debate is over." He walked up to Talbot. "I'm taking a big leap of faith. You better be right."
"I trust him with my life."
Daisy continued to glare at Talbot. "If he steps out of line in any way, Lincoln and I will take him down so hard, he'll never get up."
Coulson nodded. "Agent May, will you escort General Talbot down to see Creel?" Talbot followed May out of the room.
Daisy crossed her arms, turning to Coulson. "I'm not kidding... I will hurt him."
"You're not on this op," He told her which made her pout.
"What do you mean?" He walked passed her, so she turned around to face him. "I should be there."
Coulson sighed. "I agree, but there are two rules for the symposium. The first is, no aliens. The delegates want to be able to speak freely without fear of offending anyone."
"Yeah, well, it's too late for that," Daisy retorted, furrowing her eyebrows.
Bobbi placed her hand on her shoulder. "And what's the second rule?"
"No weapons."
Hunter stepped forward, angry. "And what are we supposed to do if someone else decides not to play by those rules?"
Coulson gave him a tight lipped smile. "That's why having Creel there might not be such a bad idea. He's not inhuman, so he'll pass any DNA screenings they may have, and if he is truly reformed, could be an asset."
Hunter shook his head. "You can't take the bad out of a bad man." He then stormed out of the office.
LINCOLN stood in front of Daisy, his hands on his hips, a workout outfit on. "I'm not gonna fight you."
"It's not fighting." She threw a pair of gloves at his chest. "It's training."
He shook his head, putting on the gloves. "We finally found a night off together, and this is what you want to do?" Daisy started stretching, smirking as she saw his eyes wonder over her exposed stomach. "We could be lounging or binge-watching some show or—"
"I need to blow off some steam," she stated. "And you need to get ready for your agent assessment at the cocoon."
He pouted, speaking sarcastically, "Yeah, can't wait. More time apart."
She smiled, walking up to him. "I like it when you miss me." She punched him right on the nose, making his head fling back in surprise, a shocked groan leaving his lips.
Electricity crackled from his hands and she bounced on the heels of her feet before saying, "No powers. Okay? Just you and me." They started circling each other.
He went to punch her, but she blocked it, and went to elbow him, but he held up his hand, and blocked it. She flung her body around in a circle as she held out her arm, but he ducked just in time. They both turned to face each other, bouncing on their feet.
Daisy chuckled. "You're getting better." She rolled her shoulders back. "Is this how you've been spending your free time?"
"What free time?" He asked with a smile.
She sent a kick to his face, but he brought his elbow down on her shin, pushing it down. She flung her body forward, and sent her knee into his stomach backing him grunt in pain.
They paused, before she gripped both sides of his neck, and flung him around. He knocked her hands off of him, gripped her arm, and flung her over his back. She landed on her feet, twisted his arm, bent down, and pushed herself into his stomach, making him tumble over her.
They quickly stood to their feet, looking at each other.
Daisy smiled as he tried to punch her again, but she blocked him. She went to punch him, but he grabbed her arm, and twisted it behind her back. Se tried to elbow him in the face, but he caught it with his other hand.
They stopped, breathing heavily, their eyes locked on each other. He leaned his face towards her, her eyes glancing down at his lips as she spoke up, "I think you're starting to like spending time in the field... that rush of adrenaline."
He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she kicked the back of his feet, backing them both go falling to the ground, her landing on top of him.
He looked up at her as she leaned her face closer to his, her body pressed against his. "Not so sure the field is my thing."
She tilted her head, smiling. "What's your thing?"
He shrugged. "Don't know," He breathed out, "Maybe it's you." He leaned forward, their lips almost touching until they were interrupted.
"So sorry." They looked to the right, finding Jenna standing at the door way. "Um, there's something going on with Creel's DNA sample. I could really use a doctor who understands inhuman biology.
Daisy sighed, turning her face to look down at Lincoln. "Well, I happen to have one of those right here." She pushed herself off of him. "Go do your thing."
As he sat up, he turned to her, raising an eyebrow, a look in his blue eyes. "We're gonna pick this up right where we left off."
She chuckled and nodded, her heart picking up it's speed as she realized what he was suggesting.
DAISY rounded the corner to only hear, "It breaks it down."
She peaked around the corner to hear Fitz say, "Creel's blood is protecting hers."
Lincoln stepped towards the computer. "A vaccine against terrigenesis." A possible cure? For Inhumans?
Jemma nodded. "Potentially. It can't reverse the effects once someone's transformed but—"
Lincoln continued, "This could virtually put an end to—"
"To us?" Daisy stepped in, a frown on her face, "I'm sorry, but isn't that what you were gonna say?"
"WE can't save everyone, Daisy," Lincoln told her which made her boil in anger. "And not everyone who can change should change. That's why Jiaying was so selective at afterlife."
"She was also crazy," Daisy spat at him, her hands on her hips.
He stepped towards her, "Not about this. There is a balance that has to be maintained. Things are getting way out of whack. A-a vaccine." He chuckled, "Might not be a bad thing."
She stepped towards him, throwing out her hand. "Do you even hear what you're saying? You sound like one of those hate groups that's been trolling the Internet... the... the watchdogs or whatever they're calling themselves. "Kill the aliens and take back the planet." I can't believe you right now."
He shook his head. "That's not what this is about. It's about giving people a choice."
"It's a birthright," she told him, "It is not a choice. And maybe things are getting out of whack because it's our time."
"Do you think it was lash's time?" She bit her lip and looked away from him. "Was it his birthright? Don't you think Dr. Garner would have liked to have had a choice?"
Daisy crossed her arms, "All I know is that if the government got their hands on a vaccine, it won't be a choice." He turned away from her, running a hand through his blonde hair. "They will wipe us out. We do not have a disease, Lincoln."
He chuckled, "Technically, it is a disease." She scoffed and threw her hands up in disbelief. It took her this long to figure out that het powers... they were a gift. "I studied this. Any disturbance of structure or function of the body—"
"Oh, boy, someone went to med school, so, everyone, shut up and listen!" She shouted, annoyed.
"Yeah, at least I didn't abandon the only family I have!" He shouted at me, electricity crackling from his hands.
Sh stopped, her heart constricting as she gulped before storming away.
DAISY opened up the door to Lincoln's room, but he wasn't on his bed, so she went to walk away, but the door handle was grabbed, stopping her from shutting it. She looked behind the door to see Lincoln sitting on a chair, a pout on his face.
She walked in and closed the door behind her, and sighed. "I'm sorry," she apologized, feeling generally bad for starting the argument. "Sorry I got a little militant about the vaccine. I — I don't know what's going on with me right now."
"You know, I'm envious of you."
She scoffed. "Why is that?"
"You have this." He chuckled, looking up at her through his eyelashes. "Natural Zen thing with your powers." She smiled at him as he tilted his head. "Maybe you got it from your mom or hanging around May. Whatever it is, I wish I had it." He walked over to his desk, and leaned up against it.
"What are you talking about?" She questioned, confused. "You were like... you were like the Zen master when we were at afterlife." She walked towards him, their bodies only two feet away from each other.
"It was easy there..." He trailed off, "no stress, no fear. Here... not so much."
"Well, maybe I can help you," she offered, taking a step forward, their bodies now only a foot away.
"I don't know if it can be helped." He scoffed. "For you, controlling your power is like finding peace. For me, it's a... a war inside my head." He inhaled sharply. "I just don't want to lose control."
She smiled. "Sometimes, it's good to lose control." She hesitated before throwing her shirt over her head, and onto the floor. She stepped forward and pressed her lips against his, his hands finding her waist, pushing her backwards until she hit his bed.
She fell backwards onto his bed, chuckling before he crawled over top of her, connecting their lips.
