she is both, hellfire and holy water. and the flavor you taste is on how you treat her
SCOTT ran forward to only get knocked down by Jackass — oops — Jackson. "Hey, McCall!" Coach laughed as he approached Scott who got up off the ground, his hands on his knees. "My grandmother can move faster than that. And she's dead. You think you can move faster than the lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?"
"Yes, coach," Skye could faintly hear Scott mumble.
"I can't hear you."
"Yes, coach," Scott spoke with so much aggression that it shocked Skye to the core. From the angle she was sitting, she could see the gold tint of his eyes. She stood up immediately, praying that Scott would keep his cool until the end of the game.
"Then do it again." Scott stood up straighter and ran for the line. "McCall's gonna do it again! McCall's gonna do it again!" Coach blew the whistle and Scott was off.
He rammed right into Jackson and if it was any other normal day, Slye would've laughed and cheered Scott on, but instead, she ran towards Scott who fell to the ground, holding his head in pain.
"I can't control it. It's happening," Scott panted out, his eyes shining gold.
"What? Right here? Now? Come on, get up." Skye helped pick up Scott, and both Stiles and her quickly made it to the locker room, setting Scott down on the bench.
"Scott, you okay?" Skye questioned, worried about her brother. I mean, before this, he always worried her because he could've had asthma attacks but this was so much worse. He could kill people. He could kill Stiles. He could kill her. "Scotty?"
"Get away from me!"
Stiles and Skye jumped back as Scott shouted at them, his fangs and everything on display. She almost tripped over Stiles as they ran around the lockers, bumping about as they did so, Scott right behind them. He then jumped a top the lockers which resulted in Stiles and Skye falling to the floor in surprise.
Skye grabbed onto Stiles' hand and pulled him up, the both of them playing ring-around-the-rosie with Scott and the lockers. And that's when she spotted the fire extinguisher.
Skye slapped Stiles on the arm with her free hand and pointed to it. He quickly fumbled with it, but as soon as Scott got close to them, Stiles sprayed it. When it was empty, she pulled Stiles out into the hallway, her body pressed up against his.
She looked up into his whiskey colored eyes and let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and laid her head on his chest, hearing the thumping of his fast beating heart. "Stiles, Skye — What happened?"
She looked up at Stiles and they both hesitantly walked back into the locker room to find Scott sitting on the bench, breathing heavily.
"You tried to kill us." Stiles sighed, throwing off his glove. "It's like I told you before. It's the anger. It's your pulse rising. It's a trigger."
"But that's lacrosse. It's a pretty violent game, if you hadn't noticed," Scott defended lacrosse which made his sister roll her brown eyes.
"Well, it's gonna be a lot more violent if you end up killing someone on the field. You can't play Saturday. You're gonna have to get out of the game."
"I'm first line," Scott whined like a two year old.
Skye sat down beside him and laid a hand on his shoulder, making him look up at her with sad puppy eyes. "Not anymore."
"HEY," Mom spoke, standing at the doorway of Scott's room. "Late shift again for me. But I am taking Saturday off to see your first game," She told my brother which made both Scott and Skye sigh in sadness.
"Oh, mom, you can't."
"Oh, no, I can and I will. Come on, one shift isn't gonna break us. Completely." Skye bit her lip, looking down at the blanket that laid on Scott's bed. "Hey, what's wrong with your eyes?" Skye's eyes widened and she looked up abruptly to see their mother looking at Scott with concerned eyes. "You look like you haven't slept in days." Both Scott and Skye heaved out a sigh.
"Oh, uh, it's nothing. I'm just stressed."
"Just stress? Nothin' else?" She questioned, narrowing her eyes.
"Homework."
"I mean, it's not like you're on drugs or anything, right?" Skye sputtered at their mother's question, holding back a laugh.
"Right now?" Scott asked, confused and that is what sent Skye over the deep end. She bent over, laughing loudly, a snort escaping her.
"Right now? I'm sorry, what do you mean "right now"? Have you ever taken drugs?" Skye clutched her stomach tightly as their mother looked at them with a stern motherly look on her face.
"Have you?" Skye questioned, an eyebrow raised after she calmed down a bit.
"Get some sleep." She walked away.
Minutes later, Scott opened up his laptop, and Skye stayed on the bed, falling back on it with a sigh.
"What'd you find out?" She heard Scott questioned so se rolled over onto get stomach to see him video chatting with Stiles.
"Well, it's bad. Jackson's got a separated shoulder," Stiles responded. "Hey, Skye!" She looked at him and waved.
"Because of me?" Scott asked, looking and sounding guilty.
"Because he's a tool," Skye commented, laying her chin on the palm of her hand, sighing.
"But, is he gonna play?"
"Well, they don't know yet. Now they're just counting on you for Saturday."
"What?" Scott sputtered which made Skye look up to see Stiles typing something, but it froze. "It looks like what? Come on. Damn it." Scott hit many buttons on his laptop, trying to get it to work. And then the message finally came through and it read: someone's behind you. "What?"
Both Scott and Skye let out a yelp as he was grabbed and thrown into the wall. She jumped off of his bed and stood wide eyed.
"I saw you on the field." Came the angry voice of Derek Hale which made her relax, slightly. 'Slightly' being the key word. She turned around, found a bat laying beside Scott's bed and picked it up. She attempted to swing it at Derek, but he easily caught it with his free hand which made her yelp and jump back in shock.
"Wha — what are you talking about?" Scott sputtered out, his eyes wide in fear and confusion.
"You shifted in front of them!" Derek practically growled. "If they find out what you are, they find out about me. About all of us. And then it's not just the hunters after us, it's everyone."
"But- They didn't see anything! I...s-swear, I," Scott stuttered out, making Skye's heart clench and tingles to spread out through her body all the way to her hands. Then the room started shaking slightly as if there was a small earthquake going off.
"And they won't! Because if you even try to play in that game on Saturday — I'm gonna kill you myself."
The next second, Derek was gone and the shaking had stopped.
Skye stood in shock, looking at Scott with wide eyes. "Did I do that?" She asked Scott in fear, her hands balling into fists.
"No, nah, don't be ridiculous. It was just a small earthquake, Skye." Scott wrapped his arm around her and smiled.
"HEY, come here." Stiles pulled Scott away from Skye, and pushed both their bodies up against the wall.
She rose my eyebrows in amusement and curiosity, so she walked over towards them. "What is going on here, weirdo's?"
"Come here. Tell me what they're saying." Stiles pointed to where his dad was talking to the school's principle. Scott tilted his head, doing what he was told just like a dog would. "Can you hear 'em?
"Curfew because of the body."
Skye frowned and bit her lip, not noticing that what she did, drew the attention of Stiles' eyes who licked his lips.
"Unbelievable." Stiles flailed his arms around with angry eyes. "My dad's out looking for a rabid animal, while the jerk off who actually killed the girl is just hangin' out, doing whatever he wants."
"Well, you can't exactly tell your dad the truth about Derek," Skye pointed out, smirking slightly. Her eyes glanced back at Stiles' dad before landing on Stiles again who had a determined look on his face. Oh, crap. she did this. This is on her.
"We can do something," Stiles spoke, looking at Scott and Skye with wide whisky eyes. He looked excited and crazy.
She folded my arms, narrowing her eyes at him. "Like what?"
"Find the other half of the body," Stiles spoke excitedly and skipped over in the other direction with a crazy grin on his face.
"Are you kidding?" Scott exclaimed in a whiny voice.
"Nope." Skye patted her brother on the back. "No he is not."
"WHAT did you find? How did you find it? Where did you find it? And, yes, I've had a lot of Adderall, so—" Stiles bounded into Scott's bedroom with wide, excited, eyes, and Skye giggled slightly at his face.
"I found something at Derek Hale's."
"Are you kidding? What?" Stiles flailed his arms around like a crazy person.
"There's something buried there — I could smell blood."
Skye scrunched up er nose. Eww. Imagine having heightened senses and smelling blood, blood already smells bad enough, how bad is it when werewolves smell it? Especially if it's something like period blood. She shivered in disgust just thinking about it.
"That's awesome!" Stiles exclaimed which resulted in both Scott and Skye to give him weird looks. "I mean, that's terrible. Whose blood?"
"I don't know." Scott stood up from where he had been sitting on his bed. "But when we do, your dad nails Derek for the murder. And then you help me figure out how to play lacrosse without changing. Because there's no way I'm not playing that game." He threw his now fixed lacrosse stick on his bed.
"HEY, Skye?" She hummed as she read a book, the voice of Stiles filling her ears. Just as he opened his mouth and words started spewing out rapidly, a loud machine went off and she couldn't hear him. "So, um, what do you say?" Was the only thing she heard as the machine stopped making noise.
"Huh? What did you say? I couldn't hear you," Skye spoke honestly, looking up into his whisky colored eyes that deflated almost immediately at her words. His mouth hung open in shock before he angrily closed it and sat down. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and was about to ask him what was wrong when Scott came running towards them.
"The scent was the same."
Stiles and Skye stood up automatically. "You sure?"
"Yes."
"So he did bury the other half of the body on his property?" She questioned, eyebrows furrowed.
"Which means we have proof he killed the girl."
"I say we use it," Stiles spoke, raising his hand slightly as he looked between the McCall siblings.
"How?"
"Tell me something first." Stiles licked his lips, facing Scott. Skye bit her lip as she watched his tongue slide over his lips. She shook her head, looking away from Stiles and to Scott. "Are you doing this because you want to stop Derek, or because you want to play in the game, and he said you couldn't?"
"There are bite marks on the legs, Stiles! Bite marks!" Scott exclaimed almost too loudly which made Skye shush him.
"Okay. Then we're gonna need a shovel."
SCOTT, Stiles and Skye hid behind a bush, waiting until Derek left and when he did, they started walking towards the freshly dug hole. "Wait, something's different."
"Different how?" She questioned, gripping the shovel in her hand as she looked at the dirt covered hole.
"I don't know." He sighed. "Let's just get this over with." Not even twenty minutes later, Scott grumbled, "This is taking way too long."
"How long do you think un-digging a grave would be?" Skye questioned. "It's not like it's on Supernatural. On there, they skip the digging part and get straight to the burning."
"Stop with the Supernatural stuff," Stiles fired at her with slightly narrowed eyes. "Just keep going."
"What if he comes back?" Scott asked, looking around them in the pitch black night, no stars or anything shining down on them, other than the moon.
"Then we get the hell out of here."
"What if he catches us?"
"I have a plan for that."
Skye stopped digging and turned to Stiles, curious on what his plan was. "Which is?"
"You run one way. Skye and I run the other. Whoever he catches first, too bad."
Skye's mouth hung open in shock at his plan. Well, what does she expect? His plans are always stupid. One of his plans were the reason why they are in this mess in the first place. Body hunting my ass — she grumbled in her head. More like, Scott and Skye get's left behind to get shit thrown at them.
"I hate that plan," Scott grumbled, frowning.
"Says the werewolf who is way faster than both Stiles and I combined," Skye shot at her brother with a mock glare. He tilted his head, thinking about it before nodding.
"Oh, stop, stop, stop," Stiles spoke as he finally hit something.
They threw their shovels behind us and out of the way. As Stiles was having trouble with the knots, she pushed him out of the way and started doing it herself. They all jumped back in shock at what they saw.
"What the hell is that?" Stiles sputtered out, flailing his arms around, almost hitting her in the face.
"It's a wolf."
"Yeah, I can see that," Stiles told Scott, loudly. "I thought you said you smelled blood, as in human blood."
"I told you both something was different," Scott defended himself which made his sister sigh and wipe at her forehead, getting rid of the sweat that trickled down it.
"This doesn't make sense," Skye mumbled, shaking her head.
"We gotta get out of here."
"Yeah. Okay, help me cover this up." Stiles went to grab his shovel when he froze, staring at a purple flower. A flower that looked familiar.
"What's wrong?"
"You see that flower?" Stiles pointed at he flower which made Scott and Skye nod.
"What about it?"
"I think it's wolfsbane." I knew it! — Skye shouted in her head. She knew it looked familiar.
"What's that?" Scott questioned dumbly.
"Uh — Haven't you ever seen the Wolf Man?" Stiles asked her brother with a disbelieving look.
"He hasn't," Skye answered for her brother, knowing the answer.
"Lon Chaney Jr.? Claude Rains? The original, classic werewolf movie?" Stiles threw up his arms in disbelief. Skye shook her head for Scott's answers. Scott might've never seen the movies, but she has.
Sometimes during the weekends, Stiles and her would have a movie night by ourselves and watch movies that Scott would never watch. That's really the only moments Stiles and her ever get alone.
"No! What?" Scott questioned.
"You are so unprepared for this," Stiles grumbled and walked over towards the flower and picked it up out of the ground. But there was a string attached it so he had to go around the hole a couple times before the swirl lit up slightly, and all of a sudden, there was a body there.
"Stiles," Skye whispered, staring at the body in shock.
"Holy—" He jumped back in shock, nearly knocking Skye over in the process.
SKYE stood beside Scott as they watched the cops bring out Derek who looked at them directly, glaring.
Skye stood her ground, glaring right back at him with heated brown eyes. He deserved this for so many reasons. The main one being that he killed a girl, but the second is for threatening someone she loves. Nobody threatens the ones she cares deeply for.
"I can't find anything about wolfsbane being used for burial," Skye told Stiles as she sat in the backseat. She leaned forward and laid her head on Stiles' shoulder. She heard his intake of breath which confused her, but she ignored it.
"Just keep looking. Maybe it's like a ritual or something, like maybe they bury you as a wolf. Or maybe it's like a special skill, you know? Like something you have to learn," Stiles spoke, but was firing the sentences at Scott who was also researching the same thing.
"I'll put it on my to - do list," Scott mused, putting away his phone. "Right underneath figuring out how the hell I'm playing this game tonight."
"Maybe it's different for girl werewolves." Skye narrowed her eyes at Stiles' words. "I mean, they have to go through something similar twice a month." She slapped him upside the head.
"Okay! Stop it!" Scott shouted.
"Stop what?"
"Stop saying "werewolves"! Stop enjoying this so much!" Scott screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Are you okay?"
"No!" Skye jumped back, her eyes wide. "No, I'm not. I'm so far from being okay."
"You know, you're gonna have to accept this, Scott, sooner or later."
"I can't."
"Well, you're gonna have to," she told her brother, frowning.
"No! I can't breathe. Aah! Ah, pull over!"
"Why? What's happening?" Stiles questioned as Scott opened up Stiles' backpack, the wolfsbane in it.
"You kept it!?" Skye shouted at Stiles.
"What was I supposed to do with it?"
"Stop the car!"
"Okay—" Stiles pulled over, grabbed the bag, jumped out of the jeep, and threw the bag into the woods. "Okay. We're good, you can—" They both turned around to see Scott gone. "Scott? Scott?"
"HEY, Scotty." Skye grinned, hugging her brother with a small smile. The smile fell from her face as Lydia walked up to them with a determined look. She grabbed his jersey and pulled him close to her.
"Scott — I just want you to remember one thing for tonight."
"Uh - Winning isn't everything?"
Lydia let out a fake laugh, smoothing down Scott's jersey. "Nobody likes a loser."
As Lydia went to walk away, Skye bumped her shoulder. "Nobody likes a bitch either." She smirked at her and continued her journey to the bleachers, and sat down beside her mom.
SKYE sat at the edge of the bleachers, her hands gripping the cold metal as she bit her lip, hoping Scott wouldn't wolf out.
As the game started, no one passed the ball to Scott and every time he went to get it, Jackson would block him, making him fall.
Skye looked back at Lydia and Allison who held up a sign that read: We Luv You Jackson. It made her angry and she screamed out, "Come on, Scott!"
And when she realized the signs were making him angry too, she stopped cheering in fear of him actually wolfing out.
He was about to wolf out and both Stiles and Skye knew it. The only good thing about it was that Scott was able to get the ball and start scoring. Only then did their team actually have a chance in winning.
"Whoohoo!" She shouted, jumping out of her seat as Scott continued scoring, but there was still the underlying fear that Scott was gonna wolf out, but she bottled that feeling up and threw it into the ocean for someone else to find.
As the timing went to seven seconds, Scott just stood there, hunched over, breathing heavily. It seemed as if he wasn't about to throw the ball but as the time got closer to it two seconds remaining, he threw it and it made it into the net before the timer went off.
Skye ran towards Stiles and hugged him so hard that she was pretty sure he couldn't breathe. "We did it!" She shouted and without thinking, she kissed him on the cheek before running off back to Melissa.
