Sam left with strings of complaints. The roof creaks loudly when Bucky step on it. "I really don't think it is safe up here."

Cora waved it off and told him that it always creak and nothing happened that is dangerous will happened. hopefully.

"I'm serious. One day, someone going to fall like how I fell."

She grabs onto one of the spoons and ate the ice cream right away. Food is always delicious when someone pays for it.

"What did the old man want?" Bucky asked.

"Which old man?"

"Steve."

"Hmph. Well, He was asking about soulmate. He really can't wait for his soulmate. Bless his huge soul." Cora said softly under her breath as she sees Bucky happily eating the ice cream.

She took a moment to appreciate this Bucky before sighing then continues eating. The temptation to blurt out that they are soulmates was almost irresistible but Cora kept it under control, filling her head with random thoughts to push this one out.

"I heard about you having a soulmate. It must be nice. I want to meet him someday if you don't mind."

Cora choked on her ice-cream and cough loudly when Bucky finished his sentence. She made an inhumane sound while hitting her chest. Bucky lightly taps her back and gave her water to settle down. Once done, she sat there silently and wondered if this was a good time to tell him the truth.

"Well -" Before Cora can finally tell the truth, Bucky cuts her off.

"I'm not sure if I want to meet mine. Hell, I have no idea if mine is still alive." He piped in. Eyes gleaming with sadness. "Fuck, I can't even remember the name. All I know it is starting with letter C because that's all I fucking see when I look at the mirror."

They sat in silence pondering. One wonders if he deserves one and another wonder if this is the time, to tell the truth. All she wanted to scream was "IT'S ME. I'M YOUR FUCKING SOULMATE. LOOK AT YOUR NAME ON MY COLLARBONE." But all she did was taking a deep shuddering breath and continues eating.

"What about Natasha? You don't want to rekindle your relationship?" Cora gushed nudging on Bucky's shoulder. Bucky smiles and shakes his head. "She told me to see how it goes. She told me that if she didn't meet her soulmate. She'll give it a try. But I have - "

Cora cuts him off before he could finish his sentence "You know what Bucky. You deserve happiness Bucky. It's the least universe can do after everything happen to you."

Cora teared up and pecked his cheek before walking away.
