Acaia

I tapped my finger in tune with the music blaring in my car as my eyes skimmed over the village ahead.

The village was small, very small actually, but that's why I loved it.

As I passed through it, I took in all the small shops and people. There was many flower shops and a lot of bakery's. It reminded me of Russia, in a way,

My father owned most of this village, apart from the land I was building my house on. I owned that.

My smile brightened as I spotted it in the distance, on top of the hill. It didn't stand out to much, but it was obvious it was there.

I felt like my cheeks were about to fall off from smiling so much as one of the builders opened the gates for me, as they had recognised my car.

All that occupied my view for a few moments was grass and a perfectly shaped driveway, but my smile grew bigger as I saw the bridge, which had water underneath it. I drove over it as the lighting dimmed slightly — due to the hood over the bridge, which was supported with pillars.

"Holy shit." I mumbled in pure shock as I drove past the trees causing my house to now be revealed.

It was perfect. Everything I had ever dreamed of. Sure, it was probably bigger than it needed to be, but extra space wouldn't hurt?

I looked over to my right, noticing the two garages. I pulled up against one before getting out of my car.

Jack — the main builder — immediately came to my side, smiling at me. "How'd you like it, Miss Kutnetsov?" He questioned.

"It's beautiful." I responded as we walked in sync, walking through another gate, which now gave me the full view of the house.

There was flowers, plants and trees everywhere. The brick was a perfect Grandeco colour and it was decorated in a few vines of flowers in some places.

There was a circle beside the pathway to the front door, which had a pretty water fountain in it.

"There's several training room and plenty storage for your weapons." Jack spoke, referring to the underground part of the house. I nodded in response, smiling at him as he walked away.

My eyes trailed back to the house. My house.

A sigh of happiness left my body.

This was one of the few things that really belonged to me in life.

After returning home from visiting my new house, Iris — one of the maids — had told me about a package I had recieved and that she had placed it on my bed. She also told me that it was for the Hale's ball, which I had completely forgotten about in all honesty.

I entered my room, closing the door behind myself as I spotted the package. I picked it up, examining it.

Nothing was on it that could hint towards who it was apart from my name. I knew there was a possibility that it could be something bad, so I decided to gear up.

I dramatically blew my hair out of my face as I felt myself begin to sweat.

I was wearing all the protective armour I could, which included a very heavy face mask. I warily leaned forward, slowly opening the package.

I immediately spotted a note, flipping it over. There wasn't many words, just the initials R.A. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding as I rolled my eyes, dragging the mask off of my head and chucking it onto the foot.

My eyebrows furrowed as I noticed whatever was in the package was slightly glittery. I dragged it out, laying it flat out on my bed. My mouth parted slightly.

It was a black ballgown, which looked an awful lot like the one I wore on that night. I swallowed harshly, chucking the dress to the side.

Maybe it was just a coincidence. Maybe he didn't really remember me and just thought it was a pretty dress.

I took a deep breath as I tugged at my hair — something I often did to try and calm myself down.

"I need a cigarette." I mumbled to myself, walking away.
