Silver woke up the next day, he was finally back in his room and he seemed to be surprised at that. He clearly remembered that he was in Mephiles' room last night. He sat up in a quick pace and scanned the room he was in.

"Relax, you just woke up"

Silver gasped when he saw Mephiles sitting on a chair next to him. He had a book with him and he closed it as he turn his attention to Silver and meet him in the eyes.

"Oh...I was afraid that you left me" Silver nervously chuckled.

"Well you did told me to wait for you" Mephiles said and brought a small red tint on Silver's muzzle.

"How are you feeling?" Mephiles asked.

"Ah- I'm...feeling better than before" Silver smiled. Though it's not visible, Mephiles actually smiled at him.

Blaze eventually paid a visit to Silver's room and checked his condition with the help of the medic she brought along. His condition was gradually getting better, he just needed more time to rest to completely heal the fever. He was told to be completely healed tomorrow.

"Well I gotta check up on my work, take care of him for me" Blaze smiled and waved a hand at Mephiles who only nodded his head at her. She exit the room with the medic and the two are alone again.

"So...how about delaying that trip for tomorrow?"

Mephiles facepalmed.

"Fine" He said and received a bright smile from Silver.

Mephiles couldn't help but chuckle at the way Silver giggled from happiness. He pinched his cheek and told him to shut up since they both are still in the castle. They both shared a friendly conversation and enjoyed each other's company for most of their time.

"Can you imagine just how gruesome it felt for Sonic to experience that? It was just too much!" Silver ended the story with a laugh.

"Yeah I don't feel sorry for him at all, he could've handled that" Mephiles said.

"Sonic's not you, so of course he can't" Silver added before he laughed again.

Mephiles sighed but laugh a little with him, not because of the story but because how cute it was for him to see Silver like that.

Out of all the people he had met, Silver was the only one who would act so casual, funny, and relaxed around him. He rarely experienced this atmosphere around anyone he's with because they would always tense up when Mephiles' around. It's such a rare occasion for him to share a laugh with someone.

"Silver...thank you"

Silver stared at him blankly for a moment before he tilted his head to the left.

"Huh? For what?"

"For being yourself around me, I appreciate that. I enjoy those bright expressions you're showing"

Silver blushed and turned his head away quickly. He laughed nervously and nodded his head while still facing the other way.

"D-Don't mention it, I guess"

He turned his face towards Mephiles again with a smile.

"Of course I'll always be myself around you! We've known each other for so long after all, so don't always think that I'd be afraid of you for being a monster. Though, I don't really care if you're a monster! Haha, how many times have I said that already?" Silver chuckled.

Mephiles began to remember what Blaze said last night and it finally sent some butterflies in his stomach. It was the first time he felt that way, he didn't like it but at the same time it felt nice.

"You said that a lot..." Mephiles said.

"Yeah" Silver smiled with a beautiful blush painted on his muzzles.

Mephiles stood up from the chair to move and sit on the bed with him. Silver was a little surprised at first, but he enjoyed the more company he's giving.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure" Silver nodded.

"Do you like me?"

Silver stopped moving and his face remained still with a blank smile. His face heat up and he started to sweat nervously.

"H-Haha- hahaha! What are you asking so suddenly, Mephiles?"

Mephiles squinted his eyes a little and grabbed one of Silver's hands, holding them tightly.

"Answer me"

Silver gulped. That was a sudden change from his personality, he could feel it. He knew he shouldn't be scared of him because he believed that Mephiles would never hurt him. Was having too much feeling for Mephiles a bad thing? Was he angry that he have feelings for him? No, Silver thought. He's not emotionless, he can accept emotions.

Silver hung his head low and stared down on the blanket that covered the lower half of his body. He nodded his head nervously.

"Yes.." He finally answered, face bright red.

Mephiles then moved his hands to cup Silver's face, lifting it up so he could meet his golden eyes. He never realized how much he loved to stare at those beautiful eyes that glows so much.

Silver's eyes widen in surprise when Mephiles made his smile visible for Silver. Since when did he let his mouth appear? Silver wondered. Mephiles leaned in and gave him a kiss on the lips.

As Mephiles pulled away, he gave him another soft smile but Silver was still in shock.

"Haha, you look terrified at me when I smile more than when I have no mouth" He snickered and just made Silver blush more.

"I-It's just- you look so- AH WAIT DID YOU JUST KISS ME?!"

"You're too focused on my face that you didn't even realize that I kissed you? Am I really that good-looking with a mouth?" Mephiles smirked.

Silver wanted to scream but he knew he couldn't, so he just squealed while punching the sheets.

"No! You look more like Shadow! But I'm still aware that you're not him! But if I say that you're handsome then that applies to Shadow too and I don't really like him! This pisses me off!" He complained.

"....that's what you're worried about?" Mephiles asked and Silver nodded with a frustrated whine.

"Haha, cute" Mephiles smiled and took Silver's hand.

"I'm so glad I met you" He said before kissing the back of Silver's hand.

Silver covered his mouth with his other hand and couldn't help but to squeal at Mephiles' action.

"You're squealing so much, I'll just put my mouth awa-"

"NO- Mephiles you're so good with a smile!" Silver complained.

"But you said I look like Shadow"

"Yes and I don't like it!"

"Then-"

"No! Keep your mouth for a bit longer!" Silver whined and tugged on his arm.

The rest of the day was spent with Silver whining and squealing at Mephiles' face. Mephiles didn't hate it though, he enjoyed the expressions Silver was making and thought of it as weird and funny but also unique. He never had anyone react to him like that.

The maid that went to brought lunch for Silver was also startled and thought that it was Shadow in the room with Silver.

"You sure are loud when you're feeling better"

"Hnn shut up, I just think it's interesting to see your face like that" Silver blushed while eating his food.

"Interesting?" Mephiles smirked and almost made Silver choke, he began to squeal again.

"Stop smirking at me! You're too good-looking!" Silver admitted.

"Haha" Mephiles laughed and rest his forehead to Silver's while his left hand placed behind Silver's head "I love you so much".

"M-Mephiles..." Silver whined.

"Aren't you gonna say it back?"

Silver was shy at first and he kept averting his eyes away from Mephiles' gaze, but he managed to stare at him with a pout.

"I love you too"

Mephiles chuckled and kissed his cheek. He pulled himself away and told Silver to continue to eat his food.

"Hey you two, how's it goin- oh" Blaze stopped on her tracks when she saw Mephiles laying on the bed with Silver on top of him.

"Wh- what are you guys..."

"Apparently I make the best pillow" Mephiles sighed. His mouth was already gone.

Silver lifted his head up and smiled brightly at Blaze.

"Oh hey Blaze! Come in"

Blaze still couldn't believe how casual Silver was around Mephiles and how Mephiles was okay to have Silver lay on top of him like a pillow. She sat down on a chair next to the bed.

"I guess you've been taking care of him for good, huh?" Blaze leaned back as she fold her hands.

"He's been squealing all day because of how handsome I was, I hope you didn't hear him that time" Mephiles bluntly said and made Silver blush.

"AAAA DON'T TELL HER THAT" Silver sat up on his lap and punched his arms multiple times.

Blaze smiled with a sigh, she was just glad that Silver seemed to be doing okay around Mephiles and that it seemed that his condition was getting better.

Mephiles sat up and placed one hand behind Silver's waist and one behind his head, pulling him closer as their faces touch.

"M-Mephiles!"

"Did you know? He's my boyfriend now" Mephiles showed his mouth and smirked at Blaze "and I'm planning to take him with me for the rest of my trip".

Blaze didn't say anything at first but then she looked even more surprised and terrified at the same time.

"SINCE WHEN- WHAT?"

"Since this morning" Mephiles answered.

Silver suddenly buried his face on Mephiles' neck and started to whine.

"S-Silver are you crying? It's alright! I can prevent him from taking you!" Blaze stood up in a stance that looked like she was about to push Mephiles away.

"N-No Blaze I'm not crying" Silver mumbled.

"Wh- then why are you whining?"

Silver turned his face around to meet Blaze, he was blushing.

"He looks so good with a smirk!" He said with a complaining tone.

"Can you not complain when you say that?" Mephiles sighed.

"Well you still look like Shadow!"

Blaze facepalmed. Just what exactly happened between both of them while she was away? She thought. They have gotten even closer than usual, he even managed to have Silver rest on his lap like that.

"Mephiles...can you just...promise me one thing before you take Silver?" She sat down again.

"What?"

"That if you ever harm Silver you have to give him back to me" She said in a serious tone.

"G-Guys, I'm not an object you know" Silver interrupted.

"I promise" Mephiles nodded his head.

The next day, Silver was completely cured. His fever was gone and he felt his body movements was better. He was currently getting ready to leave the city with his new lover, Mephiles.

"Just please be careful when you're with him, he's a monster.." Blaze sighed.

"Please stop reminding me that, do you really think I don't know him that much?"

She was a little surprised with the answer, she could only give him a nod with a depressed sigh. That caught Silver's attention and he smiled at her while placing his hand on her shoulder.

"I'm gonna be fine, I'm a telekinetic hedgehog, I can fight when I have to" He assured and to cheer her up.

"Yeah, sorry" She smiled "it's just hard for me to let my bestfriend go..."

"Aww Blaze I'm gonna be fine I promise!" Silver pulled her in for a hug "and you better be fine on your own too! You're stronger than me!" He stated.

They pulled away from hug and laugh at each other's presence. They both saw Mephiles near the entrance, meaning that it was time for Silver to go. Blaze followed Silver to the castle's entrance and guide them outside of the city.

"Well...here we are" Blaze stopped.

It was on the outskirts of the city where it was very quiet and almost no one was around.

"Take care of yourself, okay?" Blaze said.

"Yeah, thanks for every thing Blaze" Silver smiled and gave her another hug.

"I'll make sure to keep him safe...and to keep my promise" Mephiles said and brought a smile to Blaze's face.

"Thank you"

The two male hedgehogs, well, the hedgehog and the monster finally parted ways from their female friend. It was still a bit hard for Blaze to let Silver go, especially since he's like a little brother to her. Silver didn't have anything to worry about though, he was very sure that Blaze is strong even without him.

Silver began to cling onto Mephiles' arm and nibble on his shoulder lovingly.

"So where are we going first?"

Mephiles stared down at him and smiled.

"Anywhere you want"
