Sonic and Shadow finally headed back to their city once their mission was finished. They said their goodbyes to Blaze before parting away. Meanwhile, Silver was getting some new medicines to cure his fever. Thanks to Mephiles he was getting much better than before.

Blaze went back to check on Silver, she sat on a chair next to his bed.

"They left?" He asked.

"Yeah, they're only here to fulfil their mission. The monster you had a hard time fighting is already defeated" Blaze smiled.

Silver gazed over to the window, it felt so quick to him that Sonic and Shadow already left. He also didn't forget about the monster, it felt like forever to him ever since he last saw it.

"Is Mephiles still resting?" He asked and Blaze nodded.

"You really wanna see him that bad, huh?" She chuckled.

"He's a really good guy, you know that" Silver pouted.

Blaze got called for a meeting, she needed to discuss about the city's further safety and such. She left the room and Silver was alone. He wondered if he could get up from the bed, he was getting tired of just sitting and doing nothing all day. He carefully placed his legs down on the floor and stood up from the bed.

He opened the door and looked to his left and right, the corridor was empty. No one's really around, so it was his chance to sneak out. He closed the door and went to find Mephiles' room. He remembered which room it was since Blaze basically told him about it earlier. He knocked on the door once he found the room.

"Get some rest, Silver"

Silver gasped in surprise when Mephiles immediately knew it was him knocking on the door. He opened it and saw Mephiles sitting on the bed with a book on his hand.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

"I just wanted to see you" Silver said and closed the door.

Mephiles sighed and closed the book. He pat on a spot next to him, telling Silver to sit by his side. He placed his palm on Silver's forehead, it caught him off guard so he made a little squeak sound.

"You're still on fever" He stated as he pulled his hand back.

"I know...but I'm tired of laying down all day" Silver groaned.

"That's exactly what you need to do but you decided to sneak here?"

"How did you even know?" He tilted his head curiously.

"Do you really have to ask that to a monster?" Mephiles chuckled and made Silver frown.

"You're not really a monster to me"

Mephiles didn't comment on what he just said and turned his gaze away to the window.

"I will always be surprised every time you say that to me"

Silver smiled and decided to sit closer to him before resting his head on his shoulder.

"You should really stay"

"I've already explored this city, I want to go somewhere else"

"Then take me with you"

Mephiles turned his head around in surprise as he stare at Silver.

"Huh? You're not even healed yet and I'm planning to leave tomorrow noon"

"Just wait for me, damn it" Silver irritatingly said and Mephiles just sighed.

Silver was very stubborn at the moment, he thought it could probably due to his sickness. Mephiles nodded and received a bright smile from Silver.

"By the way, why are you copying Shadow?"

"I just thought he looked cool, so maybe I should try it"

Silver laughed and lightly slapped Mephiles' arm.

"Don't be so weird" He said and made him chuckle.

Silver coughed a little, so Mephiles decided to get up and pour a glass of water for him. He sat down on the bed again and gave the glass to Silver.

"Thanks" He smiled and drank the water.

"Why do you want to come with me anyway?"

Silver finished drinking and he stared at Mephiles confusingly.

"Am I wrong to just wanna be with you?"

"Uhh...no, I just don't understand why you wanna tag along with me so much"

Silver used his telekinesis to put the glass down on the table before sighing.

"I don't know, I just really like to be around you that's all" He smiled.

Mephiles still didn't understand. There was this feeling that he couldn't describe and he was a little confused to respond to it. He looked down as he took Silver's hand. It startled him and made him blush.

"Am I not dangerous to you? In the end I'm still a monster" Mephiles pulled his face up and stare at Silver.

"Look, I don't care if you're a monster. You're actually very kind! You even suck all the poison out of me to help me heal" Silver stated.

"But what if someday I turn evil while you're still with me?"

"That won't happen" Silver said with an assuring smile, it felt so bright and warm to Mephiles that it made him want to smile back if he had his mouth visible.

"Thank you, Silver" He said and Silver nodded his head.

Blaze eventually went back to check on Silver's condition, she was shocked when the room was empty. She immediately went to Mephiles room to ask him about it.

"Mephiles! Silver is mis-"

"Shh..."

Blaze instantly stopped talking when she saw Silver sleeping on the bed with Mephiles' arm as a pillow. He was sleeping on his right side, so he was facing Mephiles.

"He went here right after you left for the meeting" Mephiles said as quietly as he could.

"O-Oh...I'm just glad he didn't run away..." Blaze sighed in relief. She took another glance at Silver and smiled softly, he really likes to be around Mephiles for some reason.

"How long has he been sleeping?" She asked.

"It's been about 45 minutes" Mephiles replied.

"I see. Please take care of him and don't leave him, he likes you a lot" Blaze smiled before she left and closed the door.

Mephiles stared at Silver and wondered about Blaze's statement.

"Likes me?"
