2018 has come to the end. So it's time to say goodbye to 2018 and say hello to 2019! It was New Years Eve You decided to throw a New Year party and invited all of your friends. As you were finishing up, you heard the door bell ring. You opened the door and saw your friends.

"Hey guys. Come in."

"You did a nice job Y/N." Sonic said.

"Nice work hun." Rouge said.

"Thanks guys. I have some food and drinks waiting for you."

"Awesome!" Silver said as he flew towards the food. You giggled to yourself.

"Hey Y/N, since it's the New Year, what will you miss?" Amy asked.

"Well...I..." Suddenly the door bell rang.

"Huh? I'm not expecting anyone else." Y/N opened the door and gasped.

"Mephiles!" The others looked and gasped as well.

"Mephiles!" Blaze hissed rudely as everyone got into battle mode.

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Listen. I didn't mean any harm." Mephiles said.

"Yeah? Try explaining what happened the last time we saw you!" Knuckles said.

"I changed honest. I didn't come to hurt you guys." Y/N lowered her guard.

"Then why are you here?"

"I just wanted to join you guys. I have no friends to celebrate with on New Years Eve."

"No way! You are not joining us!" Sonic said. Y/N looked at Mephiles and then your friends.

"Ok. You can stay."

"WHAT!?"

"But only if you promise to not ruin anything."

"I promise." Mephiles said as he walked inside. Shadow walked towards you.

"How could you let him in!?"

"He might be telling the truth Shadow. You may never know. Besides, if he tries anything, I'll let you know."

"Alright. I just don't want you getting hurt."

"I won't Shadow." You gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. Mephiles saw this and started to feel pain in his heart. Everyone went back to what they were doing and they stood far away from Mephiles as possible. Except for you.

Later, in the afternoon, You looked at Mephiles and saw that he hasn't moved a muscle. You kinda felt bad for him. Everyone was glaring at Mephiles and growling quietly at him. You walked towards him and sat down next to him.

"You ok?" Mephiles stayed quiet.

"Is it because the others hate you?"

"What do you think? They're never going to believe that I changed. I bet you don't believe me either."

"I believe you." Mephiles looked at you shocked.

"You're joking."

"No I'm not. You've been here for two hours and you haven't moved from this spot since."

"Oh..."

"I understand that it could be tough but they'll see that you changed. You just gotta show them."

"How?"

"Well you could try being nice to them or make them something."

"Alright. I'll try." You smiled and hugged him making him blush.

*Thinks* "I'm so glad I came over. She's more beautiful then I can imagine." Mephiles thought as you let go of him.

"Hey Y/N? Wanna grab some punch?" Shadow asked.

"Sure Shady." Y/N said as she got up. Shadow wrapped his arm around you, giving you a small smile. Y/N smiled back. Mephiles widened his eyes.

*Thinks* "Are they together?" Mephiles asked himself as he lowered his ears sadly.

"I'll talk to you later Mephiles." When Y/N walked away, Shadow glared at Mephiles.

"I got my eye on you." Shadow said as he walked away. "Mephiles sighed as he sat on his spot for a while.
