After seeing friends on my social media talk about how it is exam season for them (or are just starting school-yikes!) I've decided to give some stuDYING tips. 

1. DON'T. 

I'm kidding. 

I was just checking to see if you were paying attention. 

Okay, the actual tips: 

THE POWER OF THREE: Read each vocab verb three times, and each page three times. Read your vocab paper/packet three times a day, AT LEAST three days before your exam.

EXTRA REVIEWS: Don't be afraid to ask your teacher for extra reviews! For example, in a math class, if you finish a review, take another. More practice only strengthens your skills! Even if you think you are all set, doing an extra review as a practice test can help you make sure you are really for your exam. 

ACTUALLY DOING YOUR HOMEWORK: Teachers usually only give you homework for facts/concepts that are difficult. Doing your homework AND doing it ON time can only help you (don't wait until the day before the exam to do it, you're not going to remember anything).

BREAKS: Have a lot of work to do? Take song breaks! Every hour or so take 3-8 minutes to listen to a few songs you like. With song breaks, you get a break without losing a lot of study time. Just be careful not to let yourself slip into the youtube void. 

AND OBVIOUSLY: You can take quick water & bathroom breaks. And you SHOULD take a half hour lunch break. ALSO SLEEP. IN GENERAL: DON'T STUDY ALL DAY.

KAHOOT/MEMRISE: These two site are online study tools where you can make games to help you study. Kahoot is only fun in groups- So you should use it to study with friends. 

ASK QUESTIONS: If you are confused, ask your friend or teacher for help. If you don't want to talk to them in person you could email them or something. ALSO there are quite a few educational youtube channels such as bozemanscience and crashcourse that might be of use to you.

OVERALL: I know school can suck... Your peers can be awful, your teachers can be awful, and you can, at times, feel like an idiot. IT'S OK. If you knew everything, you wouldn't have to go to school.
