Chapter 5

A/N: This chapter will cover where Keith is and also give a little bit of a backstory as well.
*Keith has D.I.D. or Dissociative identity disorder, also known as multiple personality disorder. If you do not know what it is, please look it up for this will become a big part of this book. There is a TV series called: United States of Tara and it covers this mental disorder, so if you want a better picture of this disorder, then I recommend checking out this series.*

The day and the world was moving around Lance. He felt like he was disconnected to everything.

Both Hunk and Lance slowly entered the lounge center but froze at the scene before them. There sitting in a chair with their legs pulled up to their chest, their small arms were wrapped tightly around their legs as they cried. Sitting on the arm of the chair was Matt, Pidge's brother and Shiro stood behind the chair as Pidge curled up tighter and cried even more. Lance slowly walked closer and Shiro looked over at him and nodded his head at him before turning his attention back down upon Pidge.

"I-I...he's there again! I...I should h-have noticed. Why didn't I notice? He's....he's locked o-on l-level 3 because..." Pidge cried out and buried her head. Matt moved closer rubbing small circles on her back as he hushed her.

Lance turned towards Hunk to see a sad look upon his face.

"Hunk? What's level 3?" asked Lance and he watched in silence as Hunk sighed before he answered him.

"It's the top level here. See here we are on level one, where we are not harmful towards others or ourselves. Level three is well, it's locked down. You can be locked in a room, strapped down to a bed, it's pretty much the worst nightmare for us mental patients'' Hunk said as he then slowly began to make his way over towards Pidge and the others. Lance however didn't move forward, instead he slowly began his way out of the lounge center.

There was a loud buzzing sound that signaled that his door to his room was being opened. Keith sighed and decided to look over at who was coming in and when he saw who it was, Keith tried to move backwards on the bed but it was useless. Keith was still strapped down and had nowhere to go. He yanked at his arms, only causing a sharp, hissing pain to flare up in his freshly cut wrist.

Keith slowly watched as the door shut and the doctor slowly moved closer towards Keith. Keith glared up at him, but it only made the doctor before him to smile a little bit more. Keith really hated this doctor, he was so glad that he was just on the third floor but here Keith was once again and he was so not prepared for what could be coming his way.

"Hello Keith, how are you today?" said the doctor who then sat down on the edge of the bed. Keith slightly moved his foot as far as away as he possibly could.

"Okay, fine not in the mood to speak. That's fair Keith, how about we talk to someone else then?" he said as he then grabbed Keith's ankle in a tight grip.

"No!" yelled Keith but the doctor's grip only grow tighter.

"I don't think that's the right answer, let's try that again'' the doctor said.

Keith's throat felt tight as his panic was slowly starting to build up in him.

"Well?" questioned the doctor as he looked at Keith head on.

"Get Out Of Here!!" yelled Keith and just then the door to his room opened suddenly. Keith sighed in relief once he saw who it was.
"Allura" Keith sighed and laid back down on the bed, some tension leaving his body.

"Miss. Allura-" said the doctor but he was cut off.

"Doctor Allura to you Doctor Zarkon, now will you please leave the patient alone. I think he requires some more rest, don't you?" Dr. Allura said as she placed her hands upon her hips. Dr. Zarkon sent a smile her way as he rose up from the bed. He looked back down at Keith sending him a look that Keith clearly recognized as 'I'll see you later', and with that he left the room.

Once the door closed, Dr. Allura walked over towards Keith. She ran a hand through his wild black hair before undoing the restraints on his wrists and ankles.

"Now Keith, get some rest okay?" she said and Keith gave her a faint nod. Right before she left Keith quickly reached out and grabbed a hold of her wrist. With many other nurses and doctors they would have pulled back or flinched but not Allura. She smiled down at him and took his hand in hers and rubbed his knuckles.

"P-Please...please don't let h-him back in h-here" begged Keith in a whisper. Dr. Allura smiled down at him and gently laid his hand upon the bed.

"Just do your best to get better, alright?" she said and with that she left his room. He waited for the beep sound and the click of the metal door to signal that it was locked, well locked for the time being that was.

Keith pulled the thin blanket over his head and curled up into a small ball as he cried.

He was scared and he just wanted to be back downstairs where it felt somewhat safer with those who he called his friends...his family.

>>>--------------------->

Dr. Allura slowly made it to her office and sat down in her chair with a long sigh. Out of all the patients, Keith was different.

When she first met him, he was so small, young and scared out of his mind. She then was still a nurse and her father was still alive and Keith was one of the last people he helped before he passed away. Keith quickly became like the little brother that she never had.

She wanted so badly to believe him when he told her that Dr. Zarkon was doing more harm to him then good. She went to her father with this but sadly Zarkon was her father's life long friend. They studied and worked together and he saw no signs of what Keith had told her. So for awhile she let it slide, pushed back his fears but something deep in her told her that Keith was right about Zarkon.

Also, Allura didn't fully accept how her father had died and ever since his death and his will giving over the whole hospital to her, Zarkon had become different towards her and a part of her screamed that something was terribly off about the whole situation.

So, as soon as she saw that Keith was back on the third floor and Zarkon was assigned to be his doctor once again, she knew that she had to get in there before too much damage could be done.
