Part 23: Wedding Plans

Hermione's POV:

We finally get back to the castle and stash our dresses in my room, since it has three more closets than the other rooms (Narcissa smirks at this, "Fit for a Malfoy!") and I charmed it so the guys couldn't see, especially Draco ("I want to know if you took my suggestions!" He winks. I mime barfing. "Yuck.")

"Alright, girls! Come down!" Narcissa calls. My friends and I giggle and run out of the room.

"Alright, first we'll discuss dates, then who's going to be what in everyone's wedding, color schemes, then lastly making appointments for everything. Alright, let's begin!" Narcissa pulls out six large binders from her purse. "I've made everybody a wedding planning binder!" She proudly hands them out and Draco leans close to me.

"She looks like a five-year-old showing off her arts and crafts." He whispers in my ear.

I elbow him. "Alright, so my wedding will be on New Year's Eve."

Narcissa nods approvingly. "Alright, Draco...what is that face for?"

Everybody turns towards Draco who's pouting. "But...what if I want to wed on Christmas!?"

Ginny snorted. "Like you'd actually want to."

Draco makes an exasperated face before agreeing. "Alright, New Year's Eve!" He throws his hands up in the air. "Do I get a say in anything!"

"No," All the girls/women chorus.

"Alright, Harry and I are getting married on May 2nd, the Battle of Hogwarts." Ginny leans into Harry who puts his arm around her.

Mrs. Weasley agrees with their decision, writing it down.

"Theo and I were thinking about Halloween?" Pansy sort of asks. "Halloween is pretty sentimental for us, but it's coming up fast so..." She trails off.

"We understand if it's too early." Theo finishes.

Mrs. Parkinson waves him off. "Of course not! We'll make appointments for you to do all of your wedding duties as soon as we can." Mrs. Parkinson immediately flips to a section in the binder with possible places to go.

"Lavender and I agreed to get married on July 5th." Ron pipes up.

"Neville and I decided on July 8th." Luna singsongs. "But we can change the date if it's too close to your wedding, Lavender."

Lavender quickly shakes her head. "We'll have plenty of time!"

"Alright then...that leaves Blaise and Astoria. What were you two thinking for a date?" Narcissa asks, looking up from her binder.

Astoria glared at Blaise who glared back. "April 10th, 15th, or 18th!" Astoria insisted.

"June 10th!" Blaise argued back.

Astoria huffed. "If we do June 10th I get to choose the colours!"

Blaise snorted. "I don't care about the colours-"

"Everything rainbow!" Astoria retorted.

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU!" Theo yelled.

"What's so hard about choosing a date!?" Draco asked.

"June 10th is too close to your birthday!" Astoria insisted.

"April has bad weather!" Blaise argued back.

"Hogwarts has wards that control the weather, Blaise." Narcissa reminded him.

Blaise looked at Astoria. "Do you really not want June 10th?" Astoria nodded slowly. Blaise sighed. "Alright, we'll do something in April. The 10th?"

Astoria beamed. "That works!"

"Alright, now for the Best Men and Maids of Honour!?" Mrs. Brown asked.

"Astoria and I are each other's maids of honour." Pansy noted.

"Same for Hermione and me!" Ginny chirped.

"Lavender's going to be my maid of honor." Luna decided. Even though I didn't show it, I was a bit shocked. That was unexpected!

Lavender agreed. "And Luna's mine!"

"Well then, that works out rather nicely! You'll all get to be a maid of honor..." Narcissa mumbled, furiously scribbling.

"And boys? Who will be your best man?" Mrs. Weasley asked.

"Well, obviously Harry's mine," Ron said, looking at Harry.

"Yeah, Ron's mine too." Harry laughed with Ron.

Neville looked at Luna, then at Lavender. "Who do you not mind dancing with, Lavender?" He asked her.

Lavender looked shocked. "You're asking...m-me!?"

Luna smiled. "He said he's good friends with anybody in the group, but he doesn't want you to be uncomfortable."

Lavender looked around the room. "Alright, anybody but Theo or Draco. Theo will step all over my toes for his own amusement-"

"Got that right," Theo snickered.

"-and Draco will glare at me menacingly to the point where I'd run off." Lavender finished.

"I'm not that scary, am I?" Draco asked.

I cleared my throat. "Not when you're a ferret."

Everybody except Narcissa laughed. "What...do you...mean?" She asked.

Draco paled. "Ok, mother, now's not the time-"

Narcissa glared at her son. "You had better tell me later, mister!" Narcissa lowered her voice and softened her gaze, turning to Neville. "Alright, so who?"

"Ron will be my best man," Neville decided.

Lavender and Ron shared a smile.

"Blaise? Theo? Draco?" Mrs. Parkinson asked.

"Uhhhhhh....." Theo trailed off. "I dunno."

Pansy smacked his shoulder. "I told you to think about this earlier, dimwit!"

Theo shrunk away and whimpered. "Sorry, sorry sorry!"

Narcissa sighed. "Blaise?"

Blaise stood up and walked in the middle of our little circle. He put a finger out, closed his eyes, and started spinning around. "Aaaaaaannnddddd....YOU!" He pointed to me.

"Blaise," I began. "Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered! But I'm a girl! Wouldn't you rather have one of your best mates? No? ALRIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THAT'S IT! I'M GOING TO BE BLAISE'S BEST WOMAN!" I stood up triumphantly, pumping my fist into the air.

Blaise laughed, bending over and falling into the couch that Astoria was on. She looked at him disapprovingly. "Alright! That works! Hermione's going to be my best woman!"

Narcissa slowly shook her head and I immediately stopped laughing. "Really?" I asked.

Blaise shrugged. "I mean sure, why not. Draco can be one of Astoria's bridesmen instead!"

Astoria slowly broke into a grin. "Only if I can do his makeup."

Draco paled. "No. I refuse. There is NO WAY-"

"Sold!" Blaise laughed, high-fiving Astoria.

I smiled, laughing at the happy couple. "Do I have to wear a suit, or should we alter the dress?" I asked.

Astoria thought about it. "Alter the dress. Why waste it!" She grinned at me.

"That's...horrible! You can't possibly!" Mrs. Greengrass intervened.

"Mother! Live a little!" Astoria huffed. "Hermione is Blaise's best woman and Draco will be one of my bridesmen!"

Mrs. Greengrass looked defeated. "If you wish it to be so..."

"THEO! WAKE UP!" Pansy shrieked, poking Theo in the eye.

"EYE'M UP! SEE WHAT I DID THERE?" Theo laughed, pointing to his eye.

Silence.

Theo sighed. "You know what? Fine. Draco! Be my best mate-man."

Draco nods slowly. "Alright....and my best man shall be..." Draco looks around. "Well I have great options. There's Weaslebee, PotHead, Longed-Bottoms, Sass-Bin, and Theodora." I stared at him.

"Be serious or I will seriously chop your head off," I warn.

Draco gulps. "Right! PotHead! Be my best man!?" He squeaks.

Harry looks taken aback, as does literally everybody else in the room. I never thought I'd see the day where Draco chose Harry Potter as his best man. Well, then again, he was marrying me so...really anything's possible! "Err...alright!" Harry agrees.

Narcissa smiled. "Alright, now since Theo and Pansy are getting married on Halloween, how about we  all come back next Friday that way on Saturday and Sunday we can do cake, guest lists, flowers, venues, and as much as we can do?" Everybody agrees. "Alright, we'll all do everything together to save time then. Theo and Pansy's wedding is priority so they go first for everything, the rest of you can wait until they're done befoe it's your turn! My work here is done for today!" Narcissa gets up, packs her things, and exits through the portraits.

"I'll see you next week dear," Mrs. Weasley kisses my cheek. "Take care."

After the adults all left, there was just our friend group left. Blaise walks up to me and bows. "Best Woman."

I giggle and curtsy back. "Groom."

Astoria runs over to Draco. "BRIDESMAN!"

"I still never technically agreed-" Draco debated.

I gasp. "Astoria. We should do his makeup now!"

Draco groaned as the rest of us laugh. "TO MY ROOM!" Ginny squeals, dragging Draco behind her.

"Save me, Potter!" Draco yells, struggling against Ginny's grip.

Harry pretends to think about it. "I would...but this is just too funny!"

Laughing like a maniac, I follow all my friends up to Ginny's room. This was going to be a night to remember.
