Part 20:

Daphne's POV:

After Hermione finishes murdering her already dead lobster (I secretly do like eating it "the muggle way", it's a lot more fun!), it's time for us to leave.

It's about 8:15 now, and Draco is leading us to some shop I've never seen or heard of, but it's a custom dress shop.

Draco and Hermione are walking together, side by side, but they do not look in love. In fact, they look like they're barely even friends. I feel bad for them, Hermione was such a nice girl, a war heroine, and Draco was like my brother. How could I not feel terrible?

Viktor put his hand around my waist and kissed the top of my head. I giggled. "You know, we're getting married to our friend's exes. You dated Hermione, and she's marrying Draco, my ex. Tsk tsk. This can get very messy very quickly."

Viktor laughs. I'd always loved that about him. His laugh seemed so carefree, like there wasn't anything wrong with the world. How he managed to do that, I would never know. "Of course, but it won't since I love you." He brushed his hand over mine, feeling the cool stone under his grasp.

This morning, before we had gone to Hermione's, he had treated me to breakfast in bed. Then he had shown me the bath and outfit he prepared. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical, but who wouldn't be?

When I came out of the bath, all dressed, there he was, on one knee, asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes! He wasn't only the Bulgarian seeker, but the person who always made me smile.

In front of us, Hermione slaps Draco's arm before we get to the dress shop. What could we be here for?

Stepping inside, some assistant comes up to us and leads Hermione and I away. She says to follow her.

Seeing my confused face, Hermione explains. "We're getting custom dresses," Hermione whispers in my ear. "We're going on a private river cruise or something after this."

My face slowly contorts from a neutral face to a wide grin. "River cruise? I love river cruises!" I think back to all the cruises my family has gone on. There was the one where Astoria got thrown overboard. Hmmm...perhaps we could do that with Hermione...

The woman leads us over to another separate room. Another woman walks in and they take their wands out. They tap different fabrics and instantly, the fabric choices one-by-one wrap around our bodies so we can see the different colours.

"Stop," Hermione demands. She chose a blush pink satin. Shiny, elegant, feminine, and despite being pale, bold. It suited her!

I continue to watch until a beautiful red chiffon fabric wraps around me. I know that Viktor likes red, so I decide on this fabric. "Stop!" I declare.

"We're going to style the dresses now, dears. Your boyfriends gave us an idea of what they want to see you in, so just stand still and look pretty!" I look at the woman's name tag, 'Munira' it reads.

I nod. "Thank you, Munira."

I close my eyes as the fabric tightens, loosens, readjusts, then retightens. It's about half an hour before we're finally ready.

"You can open your eyes now!" Munira calls. I look at myself. It's a red off the shoulder floor-length dress. The straps that are resting on the sides of my shoulders are made of flowers. There's a small ruffle on either side of my waist before the fabric freely flows to the floor.

I hear a gasp from next to me. Hermione's was styled in a halter top. From just above her chest to the straps of the dress is a blush coloured lace. It hugged her torso before flowing to the floor. There was a long slit that showed her leg as she walked on the left side.

"Well we should be models for Witch Weekly," She jokes.

I curtsy. "Well obviously, we look like princesses!"

"Your boyfriends have already paid dears, so you can look around or just head to your next stop!" Munira looks us over. "I must say, you both look stunning!" After that, she rushes off to her next client.

"Should we go see the boys?" Hermione asks.

"Yeah, we should let them know we're down." I hold out my hand. "Ready?"

Hermione giggles. "Please. I was born ready."

Hermione's POV:

I know that the employee said something about what our dates wanted to see us in, so why is there a long slit on the side that shows my leg?

I don't have much time to ponder because Daphne pulls me into the lobby of the large shop. She shoves me into Draco, who catches me immediately.

"I see you took my advice." He looks me over, eyeing the slit in the dress.

I snort. "I didn't exactly have much of a choice."

He frowned. "So do you or do you not like my suggestion?" He plays with the fabric by the slit of the dress, his cold fingers brushing against my warm thighs. I shiver.

"Not really." He continues to play with the slit of the dress, leaving a tingling sensation behind.

He frowned. "Alright, the cruise leaves in twenty minutes. Let's get going!" He called to Viktor and Daphne.

Draco led us to a beautiful dock. There are rose petals on the sides, fairy lights hanging from the poles. It was magical. I look at the boat. It's a small yacht that also has a red carpet, rose petals, and hanging orbs of light.

It's...wonderful actually.

"This is...beautiful..." I look around. Several other couples are milling around and drinking wine. "Wine!"

A server comes up to me and offers me a glass of crystal clear wine. I gladly accept the offer.

*7 glasses of wine later*

Daphne and I sit down on the bench. We'd both consumed like....a lot of wine. Viktor and Draco are pretty amused at our half-drunken state. I try to stand up.

I wobble a bit, but I hold out my hand to Daphne, who takes my hand and also tries to stand. We waddle over to our dates.

"Ssssso. Areeee we getttttingggg back sssssoon?" I slur to Draco. I start to lean backwards, but he puts an arm around my waist to steady me, pulling me closer to him.

"We'll dock in five minutes, and we'll be back at the castle in twenty." He looks me over. "You should try to sober up. We have classes tomorrow."

I make a 'tsch' sound and wobble again. "Shhhhhhh-oes! These shooooes..." I try to take another step but bump into Daphne.

"Whoaaa there horssssey!" She exclaims.

"Whoa. I'm a horsey!?" I ask her, very surprised. "Are you a pigeon!?"

Daphne starts to flail around her arms in an attempt to stay balanced. "Chirp! I'm a pigeon!" She gets picked up, bridal style, by Viktor.

"Darling, you've had too much to drink." He shakes his head. "Let's go. Back to the castle and right to bed."

Daphne nods. "Right to a feather!" She agrees.

I stumble after Daphne and Viktor to the carriage that awaits us. I hoist myself into the carriage after they get in and faceplant into the seat.

"Alright, Hermione, sit up." Draco cooed into my ear. He lifts me up so I'm in a proper sitting position, unlike Daphne who's sprawled across Viktor's lap.

I look into Draco's eyes. "Wow. So pretty." I try to poke one, but he stops me.

"Hermione, no."

I giggle. "Hermione, YES!" I move to poke his eye again but Daphne wiggles out of Viktor's grasp and falls to the floor. She grips some fabric of my dress and I go tumbling down with her.

"Gossip." She declares, eyes crossed.

"Ok!" I agree, excited to finally be doing an enjoyable activity.

"I heard that Hermione Granger went on a date with Draco Malfoy!" She opens her mouth and covers it.

"No way! I'm Hermione Granger!" I look up at Draco. "Did we go on a date?" I ask him.

Draco snorted. "Viktor, how much time left?"

Daphne and I shift our gaze to Viktor. "Five minutes."

"Woohoo!" Daphne and I chorus.

"No! Not 'woohoo', you're going to kill us!" Viktor says, panicked.

"You're not a lobster. Don't worry," I nod at him. "I won't crack your shell!"

Daphne giggles. "He's a piece of steak!" We giggle a bit more.

The carriage comes to a halt and Draco scoops me up, then leaps out. "Alright, I've got to hide you-"

"NOOOO!!! STOP KIDNAPPING ME!" I screech. "I DON'T WANNA BE-"

Draco wraps his arm around me to slap an arm over my mouth. "Shh!"

I don't know when, but he bursts through the portrait and I jump out of his arms and into Blaise. "DID YA HEAR THAT HERMIONE GRANGER WENT ON A DATE WITH DRACO MALFOY!?" I pass along to gossip to Blaise.

Blaise looks at me wide-eyed before whispering something to Harry and Theo.

"No, she's finally fun!" Theo whispers.

"She's pissed," Harry argues.

I furrow my brows. "I'm not angry!" I take a large, exaggerated step towards the stairs and fall face-first into a potted plant.

"See! Fun!" Theo exclaims, jumping up and clapping.

"Pheh!" I spit out a bunch of dirt.

Harry walks over to me, telling me it's high time for me to go to bed."Alright, 'Mione, you're drunk. Let's get you-"

"I can walk up the stairs myself!" I kick off my shoes, grab the skirt of my dress, and waddle up the stairs. I'm about half-way up before I decide my point has been proven. But just a moment ago, there was only like ten! There are twenty now! "The stairs keep extending. It's not fair!" I wail.

"Up, you drunken vixen!" A feminine voice from behind me calls. "We're going to go wedding dress shopping this Saturday. You're getting your dress too. Everybody's picking out their dresses and whatever as well as their bridal party's. Get a bunch of galleons, 'Mione." I look up to see a familiar head of long, fiery hair.

"Ginzy!" I call. "I missed you! I didn't know I was getting married!" I gasp, looking at my toes. "There's no ring!"

"You know what, that's because it's hidden. You have to complete several tasks. The first one is to sleep for eight hours!" Ginny exclaims. "Ready? Set? GO!"

I run into my bedroom, sliding out of my dress and into one of Draco's large t-shirts because it's the first thing I find.

Draco comes running in the room. He sees me in his shirt and pales. "Er...are you...ok?" He asks me.

I slip under the cool covers. "Nooooooo." I roll my eyes. "Stay with me!" I smile at him, very pleased with myself for getting a normal three words out.

"I-ah..don't think-" He starts the splutter. My lower lip trembles. He looks at me and sighs. "Just for tonight." He slides under the covers and the last thing I remember is falling asleep, drunk, happy, and warm, in his arms.
