47: A Party At Hogwarts
Draco's POV:
After all the chaos had finally settled down, the girls were finally ready to go to the party. (By chaos I mean the disastrous shopping night [We had arrived five hours earlier than they did], them not letting us see their outfits ["I'll burn you ass off!"] and them "needing" five hours to get ready [I still don't understand that part]).
"COME ON GIRLS!" I called up the stairs. I was wearing a classic black and white suit, and for some reason, Hermione had insisted that I wore a pink tie.
I huffed. "Pink. Of all colours, I have to wear pink."
"Well, you look like a princess!" Blaise jokes. "A pretty pink prom queen princess!"
I sneer at him.
"WE'RE COMING!" Astoria calls from above the staircase. We hear the girls shoving each other around.
"You go!"
"No!"
"Then you!"
"But-"
"Oh Hermione, it's fine!"
"Ginny, go!"
"Fine!"
Ginny Pregnant-Potter-To-Be steps out wearing a simple white dress. It went halfway down her shin and was one-shouldered. She put her hair in a braid around her left shoulder. She had silver heels, red lipstick, and silver eyeshadow.
"My snow queen," Harry laughs, taking her hand as she got to the last stair.
"Hello, my king!" She giggles.
"Hurry up, lovebirds!" Pansy hisses, poking her head around the corner.
After a quick kiss on the cheek, Harry nods his head. "You may enter." He announces to Pansy.
She clears her throat and starts down the stairs. She was wearing a "little black dress", I think the girls called it. It was strapless and went down to her mid thigh. She had black heels and black eyeshadow with red lipstick. She put her hair in an elegant bun, one that I had saw her practice so many times as we grew up.
"Whoa," Theo breathes, drinking in the sight of his wife.
"I know, I'm flattering." Pansy drawls, standing next to him. "Let's get on with the show!" She shoots a small wink at Blaise who grumbled something about "bloody women".
"I heard that!" Astoria snaps, walking down. She was wearing a two piece baby pink and black dress. The top was off-the-shoulder (I think) and the skirt was black and went all the floor, flowing around as she moved her legs. She had on black heel-ish-things (but they weren't heels, like they were flat heels?), black eyeshadow and bright pink lipstick. Her hair was down, except for a small braided crown on her scalp.
Blaise looks down and scratches the back of his neck. "Hi..."
Astoria giggles. "Hi!" She chirps playfully.
"Hem hem," Lavender stands at the top of the staircase and starts down. She's wearing a light purple dress similar to Astoria's, except hers had see-through lace around her midriff, showing off her figure. She had purple lipstick and white eyeshadow. She finished the look with white heels, and a french waterfall hairstyle (please don't ask how I know that).
"Purple lipstick?" Theo gasps, completely shocked. Not going to lie, I was a bit shocked too.
Astoria, Pansy and Ginny smack him. "IT'S fashion!" They hiss through gritted teeth.
"Well I think you look lovely," Ron pressed a small kiss to her lips.
"Thank you," Lavender thanks him. She stands to the side. "Luna, come down!"
Luna walks down the stairs in a daze, not really paying attention.
She had on a dress with different colored rosettes all over it. There were a lot of the bottom, and the amount faded until you got to the top and there were none. She had rainbow studded heels, orange lipstick and blue eyeshadow. Her hair was half up in a small bun, and half was curled down.
"Unique, special and beautiful as always," Neville compliments her.
She smiles. "Thank you, you look lovely as well."
I nervously shift around. Hermione's last to come out, I bite the tip on my tongue, and smirk to myself smugly. That must mean she's the most beautiful.
"Hermione!" Pansy calls up, starting to get a bit nervous. "Come on!"
"I'm not so sure guys..." I could practically see Hermione biting her lip and playing with her thumbs anxiously.
"So help me Hermione Granger," Ginny growls. "You helped defeat Voldemort, Voldemort, and you can't even go to a party!"
"Well that was different!" She defends herself, huffing a bit.
"Come on, before Draco starts crying!" Harry laughs.
I snort. "Please, as if I'd ever-"
Hermione slowly comes into view, her confidence level seemed high, although I knew on the inside, she was dying.
She was wearing a newspaper print dress. It was black and white with pink outlines. That explains this disgusting tie!
She had on silver studded heels that aren't extremely high. She had on bright pink lipstick and black eyeshadow with some silver in the corners of her eyes.
Her hair was done up like it was for the yule ball, and she looked gorgeous.
My heart skipped a beat and she walked down and took my hand, and a flashback took over me.
I smirk smugly at Blaise. "Pansy will walk down any minute now..."
I looked around for my date, excited to see how she would look.
"And I've got Astoria," Blaise responded, cursing a bit under his breath. "She was so excited when I asked her for some reason..."
I snort. "That's just girls."
"That's just girls," Blaise agrees.
A figure pops out from behind the wall, and I think it's Pansy, but it was mudblood Granger.
She walks down the stairs as every guy's mouth drops open, including mine. Despite being a mudblood, she must have been the most beautiful girl here.
My heart sank a bit as she walked over to Viktor Krum and took his hand. I shake my head, telling myself to stop thinking those thoughts, she was a mudblood afterall!
"Y-You look b-beautiful!" I stutter, kissing her hand lightly, like a gentleman.
"Whoa, you got Draco Malfoy to stutter!" Theo claps me hard on the back. "You must really be something, eh?"
"Shut up!" I hiss at him as she blushes.
"We should ah...get there now." She squeaks, pulling her hand back.
I wrap and arm delicately around her waist and fight the urge to snog her senseless.
Get yourself together, Draco!
I shake my head, letting my hair fall into a 'messy hair, don't care' kind of look. "I think you're right."

Hermione's POV:
Whoa.
When Draco had put his arm around me, something inside me had clicked. It was almost what I had felt dating Viktor and Ron...but at least ten times stronger.
I fought extremely hard against my random urge to want to kiss him until his lips were red and raw, chapped and smelled of mine.
I got lost in my fantasies and didn't even realize how amazing the grounds looked.
There were candles floating in the air to create an intimate scene. There was a whole 'carnival' thing about it. There was a grand tent with a buffet table and drinks, though I was told we weren't allowed in there until dinner.
"But...the chicken!" Ron whined. Lavender just giggled slightly and leg him to an apple bobbing booth.
"Where would you like to go?" Draco motion to the countless amount of stations and booths set up for our amusement.
I shrug and straighten out nonexistent wrinkles in my dress. "Not sure."
He smiles softly at me. "Want to wander around then?"
I giggle. "Why not!"
He puts an arm around my waist and I let out a small breathy sigh, enjoying the feeling of his arm around my waist. I felt safe and happy, I felt like his arm belonged on my waist.
Snap out of it Hermione! I scold myself.
We walk by a station with some art supplies and parchment.
"Would you like to make some art?" I ask him, sitting down on one of the stools there.
He sits next to me and grabs a piece of parchment. "I would love to."
I giggle and grab some supplies. I pull a piece of parchment in front of me and twirl a pencil in my hand.
"Hmmm...look at me," I instruct Draco. He turns towards me, smile etched upon his face.
"Yes?" He asks.
I take note of every curve of his face, his bone structure, his stormy grey eyes.
"Nothing," I lie. I start to draw the shape of his face, remembering the perfect snapshot in my mind. I smile at myself. I'm going to draw the best portrait that boy has ever seen of himself.

"So, what did you do or what did you make?" Astoria asks me, sipping some sparkling cider from a champagne flute.
I look around the tent. We had just been allowed in the large dining area, and Astoria had come to find me after about three hours of all the couples being split up.
The tent was decorated amazingly. There were floating candles (I was just beginning to realize just how many floating candles there were around Hogwarts, thousands probably!), tables of twelve (Things of twelve were also a common thing because of the dorms with six couples each.), and each table was decorated uniquely to fit those who sat at it.
I was currently sitting next to Astoria and Draco, but he was playfully going at it with Harry the way they used to when we were younger.
I slowly pull out the portrait I drew of Draco. The detail was perfect, it was almost as if it were a snapshot in time, minus the colour. I show it to her under the table, determined not to let anybody see it.
"Shhh!" I held a finger up to my lips.
Astoria studies the photo. "It's beautiful!" She whispers.
I smile and quickly shove it back in as Draco turns to me.
"What is?" He asks curiously.
"Her shoes!" Astoria lies. "Look at that craftsmanship...it's beautiful!" She repeats to ensure that Draco would not sense her lie.
Draco shrugs. "Looks like any old shoe to me."
I giggle. "Of course it does."
"Students," Professor McGongagall steps up to a small podium at the back of the tent.
"I just want to thank you all for the memories," She begins. "For every class we had. Every mishap, every fail, and every success."
Harry sniggers. "Mishap, I know a lot about those!" He whispers.
"You have grown so much, but it is once again time to ring in the New Year and celebrate the holidays," The Headmistress continues, wiping a lone tear from the corner of her eye. "Happy holidays students!"
"Happy Holidays, Headmistress!" The students echo, raising our glasses and clinking them with those at our tables. "Cheers!"

After the toast, food appears on our plates. Ron immediately digs in, not caring about who was looking or judging (We all were, honestly.).
I cut my chicken with my knife and fork, making sure to cut through completely and make the pieces as congruent as possible, remembering what Lucius told me to do.
"Now, when people come over for fancy dinners, don't give me that look!" Lucius instructs.
We were sitting down in my common room after Narcissa and Draco had fallen asleep.
"You're definitely going to need these skills," Lucius cuts through his steak with ease. "It's something that every Malfoy has been able to do for generations-"
"Forgive me," I interrupt him. "But how would cutting up a piece of meat impress somebody?"
Lucius grimaces slightly. "You'd be surprised."
"Ooooh," Astoria giggles. "You're a real lady!"
I chuckle. "I may have had some lessons."
Draco, sitting next to me, leans over and inspects every piece. "Perfect, as always." He compliments me, biting into his own perfectly cut chicken.
I smile at him as Astoria turns to talk to Blaise. "When am I ever not?"
He snorts. "Quidditch maybe?"
I pout and shove a piece of chicken in my mouth. The lemony flavor runs over my tongue, and I feel like there are mini fireworks going off.
"You had to go there, didn't you?" I whine.
A bit of sauce dribbles down my chin and I pick up a napkin.
Draco laughs, not noticing me frantically trying to get the napkin. "You've got something right..." He brushes his thumb under my bottom lip, wiping the sauce off. "There," He finishes, wiping his thumb on a napkin.
"Th-thanks!" I stutter, putting another piece of chicken in my mouth so I wouldn't say anything stupid.
He laughs again, the sweet melodious sound echoes through my ears and I find myself wanting to hear it forever, treasuring it and the person it came from.
"No problem," He replies.
"HEY, Y'ALL!" Somebody yells. I turn around and gasp.
"IT'S DJ JORDAN!" Jordan Lee yells. "LET'S GOOO!"
He starts playing hype music, and people get up to start dancing. The music was loud, but not so loud that it made you want to cover your ears and run away.
Draco scoots his chair back and offers me a hand. "Shall we dance?"
"Yes," I respond, gladly taking it. "We shall."
