Red signal

I halted my car infront of the traffic light at junction.

I wanted to meet Swathi and share my happiness with her

"Leave me"She shouted.I turned and saw a very familiar face in very next car.

I peeped my head through window and saw her there in her brother's car.Its been almost a month I haven't seen her anywhere.She is there in car but she is crying

When did he get the bail?I looked at Ashok who occupied the driver seat,Where Avni is sitting beside him.

He is holding her wrist tightly and controlling the steering with other hand.

She is looking around for help"Avni" atlast I could say her name a bit loudly.

Her eyes are searching everywhere to trace out the source of her name.Her eyes landed on my car and they are gleaming with hope.

"Avni"I shouted her name again signing her to stay calm.

Ashok who is busy with his phone averted his gaze on me,my car.I lowered my head and thankfully he looked away.

I signed at Avni to be quiet for a while.I am following him slowly behind his car.I am maintaing a safe distance so that he can't guess that I am following him.

He stopped his car before an old building and dragged her out of his car.He snatched her hand and took her into the building making very hasty steps.

I am following behind him hiding myself.It was a very old building not in a good condition which has to be demolished quickly.Walls of the buildings are showing cracks all over and wooden doors are broken here and there and were bore by termites.

I went to a window from where I can see him,listen his voice.

"You can't do this to me"Avni shouted in rage.

"Why?Why can't I?"He raised his eyebrow and said fuming at her.

"Bhaiyya,Please"She joined her hands and begged him.

"How dare you tried to bribe my lawyer?You told him that you don't want me to get out of jail.You prayed for the rejection of my bail petition.Why so?"He outraged.

"I don't want you to commit more mistakes.I want to you to be safe"She cried and looked at him with all her and sincerity and honesty in her eyes.

"Oh really?How do you think that I will believe you?"He shouted again.

"Because it's the truth, because I am your sister and I do care for you"She is crying snuggling herself,dragging her legs towards her face and covering it with her hands.

"Have you gone mad?He killed our father.He that B*** Mishra is responsible for our father's death and here you instead of thinking about revenge giving lectures to me.I pity you"He looked away stood there impatiently tapping his legs and rubbing his nape.

"I know you hate me still I want you to be safe.It doesn't matter whether you treat me as your sister or not you are my brother.It is a fact and I don't want my brother to be named as a criminal"She said swallowing her sob and looking at him passionately with a wan smile on her face,Tears are gushed from her eyes and I felt sad for her.

"You decieved me,my trust.You fell in love with that guy and helped his friend,You did everything just to please your so called boyfriend.I hate you,I hate you to hell.I know that my sister would never do that"He said gritting his teeth,clenching his fist firmly.

"It's not true"She yelled in pain.

"It's the fact"He stomped his foot making a weird sound,which made Avni twitch for a while.

"You are no more my sister,You are dead,a corpse to me.I will leave you here and just die without any food and water."He walked towards the door.

"You can't do this to me.You just became so blind to quench the thirst of your revenge.It will land you at a point where everyone around you starts hating you and Truly you can't find a single person to console you."She warned him this time.

"I swear I won't leave you till I see your corpse"He smiled madly.

"You have changed"Thats all she could speak.

He went to her,tied her arms and legs with a rope placed a plaster on her mouth and left the place quickly.

I waited for the right moment and banged the main door.The lock just broke instantly.I made hefty steps and reached Avni.

She lost her consious and breathing heavily.

"Avni"I took her into my arms and patted her cheek gently.

"I need water"She spoke barely and just took her to my car carrying her in my arms.

I searched all around and finally I could find a bakery.I brought a water bottle and fed her some food along with water.

She became a bit normal yet she is breathing heavily,later I realised that she might be having an Asthma attack.I drove straight to the hospital and admitted her

I am trying hard to reach Krithik but he is not picking his phone.

"Shit"I hissed and sat there holding my head.

"You can see her"A nurse came and stood infront of me.

"Okay"I nodded and walked towards her bed hesitantly.

"She is fine now and you can take her with you"Doctor smiled and left us alone.

She is crying and I don't know how to console her.

"I am unfit to live"She mumbled something which frightened me.

"Are you okay?"I could ask her something,She looks so pale and vulnerable and I don't know what to say.

"Yes"She nodded between sobs.

"Good"I walked and sat on a chair beside her bed.

"I am trying to call Krithik but he is not responding,I will ask Swathi to come here,She will be here in few minutes"I assured her.

"No,Please"She nodded,shedding tears

I don't know what to do,I sighed at the nurse and walked out of the room quickly.I called Krithik on phone and very fortunately he lifted my call this time.

"Hey buddy!What's up?"He spoke soon he lifted my call.

"Krithik I need to talk to you about Avni.Promise me that you will listen to my words fully"I almost warned him.

"Please yar!Not again"He nagged.

"I just saw her and ..."I was stopped by krithik again.

"What's yar?You saw her,I know you might have seen her with her brother.She won't change!I know she won't for a lifetime!Just leave the topic, Please.It makes me suffocating"He cut the call abruptly.

He is so stringent and he doesn't want to listen her name even.

I called him another time he lifted the call for the first call only"I already told you my opinion Prateek.Will please leave me for god's sake?!"He didn't allow me to speak a single word

"Stupid"I cursed and lifted my head to see Avni sobbing with a pale face.She is hurt and those eyes are filled with guilt.

"It's not like that Avni"I tried my best to console but I failed completely as I can see her weeping like a child.

She is running madly I just don't know what to do?!I just ran behind her till she hit something and fell down wincing in pain,bellowing.

She hit her leg and it is bleeding.I went to her and stood infront of her with anger filled eyes.Is she gone mad?

"I just want to kill myself"She murmured.I truly don't know what to do now,lost in my thoughts.

It's hard for me to bear her tantrums.Her antics are driving me crazy.She is really uncontrollable.I just wish Swathi is with me to deal this girl.

I just kneeled down and took her bleeding leg into my hand and tied my hand kerchief to it to stop the bleeding.I offered help to her and She could stood up after many futile attempts.She tried to walk but she can't walk at all.

I am hating this situation,this girl has gone crazy totally.As I have no choice I just picked her up in my arms and took her to car.

She tried to resist me but this time I can't control my anger.I literally shouted at her,her name.She cried again which embarrassed me more.Oh god!

I took her to my flat and placed her on couch.I got some water for her to drink and dressed her wound neatly.

She is totally lost in her own thoughts,Though I shouted at her in the spur of the moment I felt sad about her.She needs someone to console,she needs someone's shoulder to feel happy and assured.Krithik her love rejected her brutally without mercy while her friend Swathi is unwilling to talk to her.

I went to her and sat before her on a chair dragging it nearer to the couch.

"Avni,Just listen to me for once"I asked her as politely as I can.

"Hu!"She swallowed a sob and wiped her tears trying to look at me.

"Avni,Everything will be fine"I stressed each and everyword assuring her that nothing is going to happen badly.

"Hu"She nodded trying to smile.I smile out of relief and continued.

"Just treat me like your brother.I can assure you that you are like Shreya to me,Don't worry things will fall into proper places after sometime.What you have to do is just stay calm for a while.We all are humans and we do commit mistakes,what makes our lives beautiful is accepting them and correcting them in time."I sighed for a second and looked into her eyes for an answer.

"But people around me hates me.My love rejected me, I lost my friend and My brother decieved me with out mercy.What's left in my life?"She mumbled staring blankly into vaccum.

"Hu!Will it ever possible for them Krithik and Swathi to stay away from you for longer time?"I laughed at my question.

"What ?"She got offended by my laughter but I know what I told her is absolute truth.

"I told you the truth and I bet you can't deny that they both love you and they both will be searching for you if you won't contact them for a couple of days"I smiled at her.

"Really?"She looked at me with a hope,Her eyes are wide open and they are looking at me for a positive response.

"Yes"I walked to her and caught her hands.

"Thats great"She sighed chuckling.

"So please be calm for a while. I would advice you to stay here in my flat for some time as Ashok will be searching for you"I smiled nervously,hope she won't take my words wrongly.

"Yes,He will be searching for me"She is literally quivering at that thought.

"Calm down"I stood up and smiled asking her to be quiet.

"We can find some way or other"I faked a smile as I don't know what to do with Ashok.I am completely oblivious about his plans and scenarios.

"Thank you soo much"She caught my hand and cried placing her head on our clasping hands.

"Its okay!"I just felt different as I don't know how to make her comfortable.I just tried to pat her shoulder for a second and she smiled back heartily as she seems she is convinced by my words.

"Who is that and What are you doing with her?"I heard A coarse voice as just left my flat.Swathi's dad is standing at the front door.He is heavily drunk and I know he is not in his senses.

"Why would you bother?"I asked him a bit harshly as I hate him yo core.

"Who was that?Is that the girl who is Swathi's friend?What was you doing with her?You were clasping your hands with her and you carried her in your arms.I was following you all the time"He looked at me with furious eyes.

"Its not that what you think"I said politely and moved ahead.

"I will see your end,you are cheating my daughter"He shouted.

A frown formed on my lips,From when he started treating Swathi like his daughter,She was always a machine to him.
