A plan to see him

Arjun POV

"I have to see him Madhav!!" I said kinda getting frustrated sitting down on the sofa.

Madhav, like always, chuckles and sits down across from me, we've been at this for too long. We'd gotten back to Hastinapur hours ago and I immediately dragged Madhav to my room trying to figure out how I can see Vrishketu but anything I came up with Madhav shut down telling me a million reason why it won't work.

"I told you it won't work Parth. If you go see him and tell him who you are he will immediately despise you!" Madhav chuckled and shrugs.

"Then what do you suggest I do Madhav??" I sighed defeated.

"You have to make him trust you Parth. Not by trying to explain yourself or give excuses, that will never work. The child lost his parents if you go tell him you're the one he blames for it he will never listen to what you have to say." Madhav smiled. "Go see him... but disguise yourself"

"Lie to him?? And then when he finds out he will only hate me more!!" I exclaim glaring at the floor.

"You have to get him to trust you!"

"And then break his trust??"

"No... Parth listens to me," Madhav says smiling.

"Why must you be so complicated??" I ask Madhav already knowing he will never give me a straight answer.

"He has a certain image of you Parth. To him, you're the person who killed his father no matter how you approach him he will never be able to know you for you. He will only ever look at you as a person who can only hurt him." He says softly making my heart prick at his words... he was right. Why would he trust me? I did kill his father...

Madhav shook his head and put his hand on my shoulder, "Don't focus on the past Parth worry about the future. As I was saying, now if you meet him as a person who he knows nothing about, with no excuses or apologies he will understand your genuinity without that image."

I nod at his words knowing he means it and knowing he's right but still I have a sliver of doubt... if he found out I lied to him he'll never trust me.

"What if he finds out??" I ask.

"He will... it's inevitable. The truth always comes out Parth but instead of him finding out you would tell him. The absolute truth. And without excuses. That's the only way he will trust you." Madhav said with a knowing smile. I nod slightly.

"Ok... but ho-"

"Parth calm! Talk to sakhi and Subhadrea first. Don't rush in it won't help anyone."

"You're right... I need to work through this with clarity. I need to set this right with him." I nod determined.

"Exactly," Madhav smiled. "Now, the first thing you need to do is talk to Sakhi and Subhadrea, then talk to jyesth, Bheem, Nakul and Sahdev as well."

"Hmm," I said nodding.

So that's exactly what I did, once we finished talking I went to Panchali's room to see her and subhi serving food to Uttara. Once I entered they both smiled at me and I sat down.

"Pranipar Arya," Panchali and Subhi said.

"Pranipat pitashree," Uttara smiled

"Pranipat," I said softly.

"What happened arya? You seem happy," Subhi said with a soft smile, something I hadn't seen in ages... I missed seeing her always happy and childish... but losing Abhi changed her... it changed all of us.

"Something good... I have to talk to you guys about it..." I said smiling.

They all look at each other and nod.

"Madhav told me something... well..." I took a deep breath unsure how this would go, "Bhrata Karn's son Vrishketu is alive," I said slowly and calmly but as soon as those words left my lips Panchali and Uttara started talking in a blunder of words asking endless questions.

"What?! How?! Where is he now arya I-"

"How?! Is he ok?! Where is he?? Are you going to find him-"

"Listen!! Listen!!" I said talking over them making them stop and nod gesturing me to continue, Subhadra, on the other hand, sat silently, her face neutral.

"He was too young to be in the war that's how he survived, he's in Hastinapur staying with his grandparents, Radha and Adhirath, yes he's ok, No I haven't seen him yet. Yes, I plan to... but only if you all agree... I want to bring him back and make him a part of the family as he should be!" I said answering most of the questions I understood in one go.

"Of course we agree arya!" Panchali was the first to talk. "I think you should bring him here... it would be a nice change... After everything that happened, I think it's the right thing to do."

"I agree with jyesth mata! He should be like your own son! You should definitely bring him here pitashree..." Uttara said smiling a little, I nod at her words. I knew Panchali would support me in this but Uttara being just as happy gave me some relief... she like all of us changed after losing Abhi and seeing her have no ill feelings for Vrishketu despite what happened made me feel proud.

I look towards subhi who still hadn't said a word, "Subhadra?" I ask hesitantly fearing she might not like this.

Subhi smiled softly at me and got up, coming to sit beside me on the sofa, she held my hand, "I'll treat him like it was our own Abhi coming back..." She said softly. I smiled widely at her words and hugged her.

She hugged back, "Bring him soon Arya, Hastinapura is waiting for its prince..." She said smiling.

"I will..." I whispered more determined than ever.

I got up quickly though, "I have to go talk to jyesth and everyone else about this!" I said and they all chuckled and nodded.

I left the room heading straight towards Jyesth's room, the small hope in me that we still had a way to fix this growing with every passing second...

Vrishketu POV

"I'm going out!" I called out trying to rush out the door before pitamahi caught me and just as I was about to I heard her voice.

"And where to exactly??" She asked raising her eyebrow coming out to the hall.

"Uh... out..." I said nervously. She knew I wanted to avoid the Pandavas and didn't want to stay in the house in case they suddenly decided to show up... I knew if they showed up she would make me see them or worse make me go with them!! So I had resorted to just never being in the house! So they would never see me!

"Where out??" She asked.

"Pitamahi let me go na! Just today! I'm going out for practice!" I said looking at her with my puppy eyes that always made her give in.

"No! Not going to work! Vrish you can't keep avoiding the issue!" She said sternly, "and Laksh you can come out now!!!" She yelled out at the door out of which Laksh quickly stepped out giving her an innocent smile.

"Arre Radha pitamahi! What a coincidence!" He said. I roll my eyes at the weak attempt and pitamahi just shakes her head.

"You seeing me in my own home?" She asked sarcastically, "You two will be the death of me!"

"Uh... yeah crazy I know!" Laksh chuckled nervously but sighed "It was all his idea I swear!!" He said pointing the finger at me.

"Hey!!" I yell appalled.

Pitamahi rolls her eyes clearly not having our excuses.

"Pitamahi please na! I just want to go out for practice!" I sighed defeated.

"Vrish-"

"Please!" I said looking at her pleadingly.

"How long will you avoid them?"

"As long as I have to..." I said my voice kind of soft.

She sighs but nods, "Go, I'll talk to your pitamah... but you will have to see them sooner or later,"

"Let's make it later then..." I said walking out of the house Laksh right behind me.

I didn't know how long this will work... but we'll see. I don't care what I have to do but I won't go back with them!! Never! And no excuse will convince me!
