Chapter 10

Marinette arrived home, her heart beating wildly in her chest. Chat was holding her! She let her transformation off and Tikki flew off to get ready for bed.

Marinette went through her nightly routine, her thoughts running wild. Chat was holding her for quite a bit and he got flustered!

Did that mean he was forming feelings for her? The thought made Marinette's heart flutter and the heat rise up to her cheeks.

Or maybe he was just getting attached because she gave up herself to him. The thought made Marinette's chest hurt. He wouldn't use her, right?

But then again, she was deceiving him. Maybe she deserved it.

Marinette shook her head, swallowing back tears that had formed.

She sighed and made her way to bed. She didn't know how to feel, she was so confused.

.

It was now Saturday and the group of friends was at Adrien's to continue the project. Thanks to Nino's idea to start ahead, they were ahead of most of the class.

The friends all had outlines for what they wanted to do and now it was time to look for them to look into their needed sources.

"As interesting as it is to learn about Ancient Greece, I think I may have gotten the hardest part," Marinette sighed.

"I'm glad you took it, good luck Mari," Nino chuckled. Alya chuckled too.

"You'll be fine Mari, you always do good in projects," she spoke.

"Yeah but beliefs include both religious beliefs and their mythologies," she huffed. "They intertwine but they're still two different things."

Alya placed a hand on Marinette's shoulder and gave her a sympathetic look.

After about half an hour of working, Alya picked up her phone and gasped. The group turned to look at her, all with concerned looks.

"What's wrong?" Adrien asked.

Alya sighed, a little too overdramatically. Marinette was getting suspicious.

"I completely forgot I had something!" she spoke.

"But we had this planned since last week," Marinette raised a brow.

"I know I know! But I forgot about this since I made the promise to do this other thing a few weeks ago!" Alya pouted.

Marinette wasn't buying it for one second but the boys were.

"Do you need a ride? I'll drive you, babe," Nino spoke up.

Alya smiled and batted her lashes, "Yes, thank you, Nino!"

Alya turned to look at Marinette once the boys looked away. Marinette sent her a glare but Alya just winked with an evil grin.

Nino got his keys and the couple made their way out. "I'll be back soon!" Nino called out as he was leaving.

"I guess that leaves just us," Marinette laughed awkwardly.

Adrien turned to look at her. Marinette felt the heat rise up to her cheeks so she quickly turned away. It had been a few days since they had slept together. She hadn't had time to see him as Ladybug. She'd seen him at school the rest of the week but it felt different now. She was alone with him in his room. Thoughts of the night they shared flooded to her mind and she shook her head, desperately trying to rid of those thoughts.

"Yeah, I guess," he replied, looking away from her. Marinette turned to look at him right as he turned to face his window. She could see the longing in his eyes and she made a note to visit him that night. He seemed deep in thought so Marinette didn't want to say anything. She really wanted to know what he was thinking, however.

"You know," he began. Marinette hadn't expected him to speak so she nearly fell of the bed when he spoke. Adrien was still facing the window, his body turned towards the bed.

"I've been an asshole to you."

He turned to look at her, "And I'm sorry."

"Wh-what?" Marinette almost whispered as she readjusted herself with wide eyes.

"I shouldn't have acted the way I have, I'm really sorry Marinette. Can we still be friends?" he asked.

Marinette nodded, her mouth hanging open a bit. "Y-yes! Of course Adrien!"

He turned to look back at the window and smiled softly, something she hadn't seen him do in long time.

I am so fucked, Marinette thought.

.

Adrien truly was sorry for the way he had treated Marinette. It wasn't fair to her.

She had every right to reject him. Who was he to force her to love him? If she wanted to be with someone else, she could, she deserved that happiness. It bothered him that it took him this long to realize that.

He continued to stare at his window with a soft smile. It was thanks to Ladybug. She helped him feel better. Adrien's heart fluttered as her face popped into his mind. It had been quite some time since Marinette had rejected him, it wasn't too soon to have already moved on, right?

I mean, why stick to a girl that doesn't like him when there was another that willingly gave him her virginity? That had to mean something, he refused to believe Ladybug would just give herself up to just anyone. The thought of her having feelings made his heart race.

"Y-you ok?" Marinette asked timidly.

"Hm?" he turned, his train of thought broken.

Marinette tensed and she avoided his gaze, "Y-you've been staring at the window. Are you a-alright?"

Adrien nodded, "Yeah, sorry, I was just thinking about something."

"I-is it about what you told me about a few days ago? That 'interesting night'?" she asked nervously. Her heart was beating uncontrollably in her chest.

Adrien smirked a little, "Yeah, I think I finally know how I feel about it."

Marinette took in a sharp breath but it didn't seem like Adrien noticed.

She had to see him that night.

.

Marinette paced back and forth in her room. Tikki was sitting on her desk, munching away on a chocolate chip cookie.

"Tikki, he's been thinking about me!"

"And you've been thinking about him too," the kwami replied.

"Do you think he likes me?" Marinette asked with wide-eyes.

"I don't think the idea is too far-fetched. I mean, you have been seeing him for many weeks now, and a few days ago you two... um, did that."

Marinette blushed. She was beyond nervous. How would he react to seeing her? He clearly wanted to see her, she knew that. But what would he do? Would they cuddle in silence like usual? Makeout? Talk? Have sex again?

She continued to pace across her room. Tikki took the last bite of he cookie and flew over to Marinette.

"Calm down, Marinette!" she giggled. "You're going to wake your parents up! Just go see him."

Marinette turned to look at her surprised. "I wasn't expecting you to be so supportive."

Tikki shrugged, "I already told you, I can't stop you and I don't want to be against you. As long as you and Adrien are safe, I will allow it."

Marinette smiled, "Thanks Tikki. Spots on!"

.

Adrien had clearly been expecting her since his window was open and he was sitting down on his couch. The moment he spotted her, his face brightened and he sat up straight, a smile on his face.

She smiled back and walked over to him. He stood up and took one of her hands while the other went to cup her cheek. She leaned against his touch and looked up at him.

"Hi," he grinned.

"Hello," she giggled.

His thumb stroked her cheek as they continued to stare at each other happily.

"I'm glad you came to see me," he spoke.

"Sorry for not coming earlier, I've been busy with life," she replied.

"It's alright, I understand you have your civilian life. But I'm glad you're here now. I missed you," he admitted.

Ladybug blushed, "Y-you did?"

He nodded, a soft blush on his cheeks. "I haven't stopped thinking about you since that night."

Ladybug's excitement faltered and Adrien took notice.

"O-oh." Is this just about sex? she thought.

"Not just about the sex," he rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. "Well I have, but more about what it meant."

"Wh-what it meant?"

He nodded, "It was my first time too."

Her eyes widened, "Really? So we were each other's first?"

His eyes fluttered opened and Ladybug took in a sharp breath. His eyes were stunning. She could stare at them all day.

"Mhm," his eyes flickered to her parted lips. "I've also been thinking about the effect you have on me."

"The e-effect I have on you?" This was all overwhelming for Marinette so all she could do was repeat his words. She couldn't form any sentences in her mind. She was trying her best to focus on Adrien's words over her loud, beating heart.

Adrien let go of her hand and brought it up to cup her other cheek.

"You're always on my mind, I can't rid you of my thoughts and I don't want to. Your eyes mesmerize me and not a single moment goes by where I don't want to kiss you."

Ladybug's eyes widened and her mouth fell open.

"Can I ask you something Ladybug?" he asked.

She nodded absentmindedly.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Wh-what?" she breathed out.

Adrien gave her a soft peck on the lips, "I want you to be my girlfriend."

"I-I..."

She shouldn't. She needed to say no. Ladybug couldn't date a civilian. This was going too far.

But she was in too deep now. How could she say no? She loved him, both as Adrien and Chat Noir.

"Y-yes," she whispered.

Adrien smiled before leaning down and capturing her lips with his. She kissed back.

She knew Tikki was going to be mad, but at that moment she didn't care.

I had time to finish today! I'm so proud of myself (:

Sorry if the chapter is messy! I've been so distracted with life.

I was going to end it on him asking her to be his girlfriend but I felt that was too cruel, idk if I'll have the next chapter ready by next Sunday so I didn't want to leave y'all hanging. I'm not that mean lol
