"Wait, so it wasn't always true?"

Draco's face was shocked as we sat on the edge of the Black Lake.

"No. Please, you can't tell anyone," I begged.

"Of course I won't," he said, giving me an 'are you stupid' look, "I can't believe you're actually with him, though."

"Thanks, but I don't know if we are together. You're really my only friend," I stated.

"And you're mine. I used to have a lot of friends, but I pushed them away this year..." Draco exhaled, his breath apparent in the cold air.

"Why?" I asked, rubbing my hands together to keep warm.

Draco took his cloak off and put it around my shoulders, ignoring my question.

"Aren't you cold?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.

"No. You need it more than I do, anyway."

"Thanks."

We spoke for a while longer before I told him that I was going to study. I headed back into the castle after giving him his cloak back.

As I went to walk towards the Herbology section of the library, I got dragged into the restricted section.

I was about to scream but a hand covered my mouth. I felt myself stop breathing as they covered my nose too, filling me with panic.

I tried to stomp on their feet, hit them, anything.

But it was no use.

When we reached the most secluded area of the section, I was released.

I turned around to see none other than Severus staring me in the eyes.

"Severus, what the hell? You almost killed me!" I whisper-yelled.

He gave me a guilty look, but said, "I had to! Do you think I could've done this in the middle of the library?"

I was confused for a moment but it all made sense when he pressed his lips against mine harshly, lifting me up against the wall so that I could wrap my legs around his waist.

He was strong, and his hold was firm - as were his lips.

After a few minutes, Severus let me down and we both took deep breaths.

"Thanks," I laughed. "What's the occasion?"

"I realised how much I need you," he breathed, pecking my lips again. "Be mine."

I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded as I pulled him towards me again. I wrapped my arms around his waist.

He hugged me back.

"I do love you, Severus."

"And I love you, Verita."
