Writing What You Know.
A comment from JosephinePond inspired this chapter.
Here is the excerpt from her book "Blood."
This ties into the previous chapter on writing romance as a man.
Although I have pretty good knowledge of the history presented in her book, I cannot tell if it is as authentic as it feels, as I have zero experience with anything in it.
She mentioned that readers have thought a man wrote this. Had I not known otherwise, I might have guessed the same.
Discussion: What would you change to make this passage more appealing to female readers? Do you sometimes guess wrong about the sex of an author?
As an aside, I read her whole chapter, and it is superb writing. I encourage everyone to take a look.
A/N: That is my wife in the picture. I haven't written much about skiing here, but on ski forums, I've posted volumes!
