Meeting New Love Interest
"I'm glad, John."
Doug being constantly glad when John mentioned anything about party made it clear about how much he felt guilty for leaving him. Not that John cared anymore but being reminded every time Doug called him had made him somewhat depressed over the week.
Now it was the weekend and John wasn't about to feel down because Doug was glad he was moving on.
He smirked when the to walk sign came on and he said, "Well, I've got to go now. I'm already at the club."
"Okay. I've got something to do anyways. Later John."
"Yeah." He hung up and exhaled when he came in front of the building he needed to enter.
Taking a swig from his cigarette, he blew out and tossed what was left on the floor and stepped on it before entering into the club. From almost a few miles away, John could hear the loud music blaring from the building he was in, but no one seemed disturbed by it seeing as the street was packed with stores that were close and fast food joint that had so many people in it. St ZWipes was one of the noisiest streets in his town and being invited by his friends to go to the club allowed him the chance to finally be in it.
Sidekick by WALK THE MOON roared in the huge hall. People were dancing pretty crazy on the dance floor and the bar was packed. With people bumping into him and girls that walked by winking at him, John was tempted to leave. He wasn't comfortable with the amount of people in there making it suddenly hard for him to breath.
But not wanting to let his friends down, he walked across the entrance and straight into the bar. He slowly walked past the people sitting by the bar, hoping one of his friends would notice him. Then his phone rang and he sighed with relief when Matthew, his colleague's ID came up. He answered as he walked into a hallway with less noise, "Matt, where are you?"
"Hey man. Sorry I didn't call earlier. We cancelled because Timothy called sick. We moved it to next Friday."
John felt deflated. They had raised his hope about a good fun only to cancel when he had already gotten there. He ran a hand over his face and breathed sharply. "Ok. Funny how I'm already at the club."
Matt's disturbing laugh was heard from the speaker. "Really? Then you really must have been excited. You should have fun then. You know, that club has rooms upstairs... just in case you get lucky."
John only rolled his eyes. "Good night Matthew."
"Oh you're mad. Man, I'm sorry. Timothy just called and I was already on my way. Now I've got to stay since Tina's been staying over."
"It's good. See you tomorrow."
"Starbucks?"
"Tim Hortons."
"Okay." Matthew hung up.
Sighing, John wondered how many times he had done that action since he decided to leave home. That is both from relief and anxiousness.
Slipping his phone back into his coat pocket, he started to leave the corner he had hidden himself when a group of boys came in, blocking his exit. He clenched his jaw as he waited for the boys to finally notice a man behind them was trying to get out. With the loud music and all of them shouting to get their words across, they didn't hear John when he started yell for them to move.
Rolling his eyes again, he pushed past the crowd, earning displeased yells from them but he didn't care at the moment because he did try to let them know he was there.
Now that John had room to breathe, instead of leaving the club like he had thought he would, he found himself walking back to the bar and luckily there was a seat for him. He ordered shots for himself and watched as people danced provocatively on the dancefloor. He would have loved to join but he couldn't dance and he wasn't drunk enough to not care.
After taking another round, he smiled when the bartender looked a little tilted. To him, that meant he was on his way to oblivion. John didn't know why he wanted to get drunk. There was no Doug here for him to mistakenly spill his feeling to. Even tipsy John knew that was wrong because Nathan and Doug were together now.
It was his fault, he admitted to himself. He should have been possessive, remind Nathan that Doug was his. He confessed first. But he didn't, all because he was scared to. He knew what that would mean and he didn't like it. He wanted to stay straight, not find out he was Bi like the rest save for Micheal. Other than causing them an extra month, he was the luckiest fool on that island.
"You're telling me he stayed straight?" John, from where his head laid on the bar table looked up at the man that had said that.
The man smiled at him and John sat up to look at him clearly. Even drunk, John recognized the face. It was the same face that made him feel the same thing he had felt around Doug.
"Langdon?!" It was his student.
His eyes smiled. "In the flesh."
"Shit." He gasped, realizing he had spilled his sexual orientation even though he wasn't sure of it. And not just that but everything about Nathan and Doug.
Langdon laughed then leaned closer to him, causing him to hold his breath. "So you like guys."
It was more of a statement than a question and John's heart skipped in his chest. He didn't know whether to reply with no or yes. Either way, he wouldn't like the result.
He cocked his head at him when John didn't respond then brushed John's hair behind his ear. "Relax, I wouldn't tell. Besides, I'm gay myself."
"The-Then what are you doing in a straight club?"
"I came with friends. Forced to, I tell you. They all went dancing so I came here." He stuck his tongue out to lick his lips as his eyes glanced at the dancefloor then at him.
John quickly tried to stay composed but he was slipping and soon, he would be way too drunk to care what was going to happen to him. He gripped on the edge of the bar and bit his lip when Langdon's voice whispered to him, "Relax, I wouldn't do something you wouldn't like."
"I'm drunk. I didn't come with a car."
"Do you want me to take you home?" John wasn't surprised by the offer and it only made him scared. What ifs ran wild in his mind that he was surprised at his state he could still think like that.
"No," He said, standing. "I think I can make it."
John only took two steps before his legs gave out and he dropped to the floor. Luckily, Langdon was there so before anyone got concerned, he picked him up and helped him out the club. John was worried Langdon's friends would be looking for him soon but when he got the chance to utter the words to him, his tongue seemed to sink.
Langdon got him in his car, fastened him up and soon drove off after a call. John swore he heard everything but when it was time to recall, he didn't know a thing. It was until he found himself in a strange street that John realized he wasn't going home. Then he began to shake terribly.
Langdon didn't notice until he had parked in front of his house and was about to get John now. John held on to the chair as if it would save him from what Langdon planned to do.
The student only smiled before leaning in to leave a light kiss on his cheeks. John was too distracted by that to know when the man pulled him out of the seat and dragged his half-conscious body into his house.
John was dropped gently on a couch where he laid still amazed by the kiss Langdon had given him. The next time he saw Langdon, he was with a glass of water and John quickly reached for it. The hasty movement almost made him spill the water but Langdon caught the glass and pushed him back on the couch before feeding it to him.
John gulped the whole thing down and sighed when he felt himself relax a little.
It took him a while but he was finally able to see clearly. He was in a foreign room barely clothed with just his boxers. There was a glass by the bed side and he gulped it all down as he sat up and stared around.
This isn't my room.
The room was bath in blue. Blue wall, wardrobe, tabled and chairs, Comforters. Everything was blue and the little light coming from the window confirmed it. Confused and terrified by how he got there, he jumped out of the bed, later regretting it when a huge head ache hit him. However, that didn't stop him as he searched for his clothing. There was nothing.
No jean, no shirt and no coat. Nothing that looked to be his.
"Well you get out of bed quickly." The voice startled him and he jumped almost ten inches in the air before turning to see Langdon holding a glass on one hand and something else on the other.
At first, he didn't know who the student was until he smirked at him and like the force of a soccer ball to the head, John remembered everything that went on last night making him turn fifty shades red.
"Um," He basically choked on his words as he turned to the window and realized it was already morning, the next day. He had slept in the man's house. "I'm sorry." He coughed out mostly because he didn't know what to say and he knew it would be awkward if he brought up what had happened yesterday.
Langdon walked closer to him and John instinctively moved back making Langdon's smirk wider. "Calm down. Nothing happened last night. I'm just here to give you new clothes and Tylenol. The bathroom's just out the hallway." He moved closer to him and John didn't dare move away.
Langdon did give John the drug and handed him another glass of water. As John took the drug with the water, Langdon opened the wardrobe and got out a pair of jean and plain grey cotton shirt.
"I could drive you to where you live, if you're okay that is?" Langdon said as John took the clothes from him. He dropped them on the bed as Langdon continued, "I don't have anything now and my shift at the cafe starts at noon so..."
Staring at the clothes, John wondered why the student was being so nice too him, then he remembered last night and he groaned and looked at the kid. With a helpless sigh, he said, "If it's alright with you. I'll take a shower now."
John arched a brow when Langdon grinned widely then ran a hand through his brown short hair. Just in that moment, John found him a lot cuter than he had expected making him flush and look away.
"Well, that is great. I'll go prepare breakfast. Just meet me downstairs, okay?"
When John nodded, he nodded back, grinning happily like he had just gotten a teddy for a Christmas gift. That made him smiled and for the first time that morning, he felt relaxed.
