Men in Uniform --Part 4--

It's been many weeks since I first met blondie.

a.k.a., Kradness.

Probably even three months... or even more.

We've been hanging out a lot, but his job comes first. I don't mind. I'm not like those jealous ones.

So, Kradness has brought me to the diverse districts in Little Edo. Little did I know that these places ever existed?

I wonder this every time I get the chance. I can't even believe the fact that I "might" be falling for him, or have I already?

It was a confusing Friday and everybody seemed to dial down, I don't know what the all-so-quiet voices are for. One of my friends suddenly walks up to me.

"Hey, [First Name], have you heard about the danger out there?"

"Briefly, wait- exactly which one?" There was many.

"The killers... the samurai."

"Oh yeah... I have heard of them."

"Are you scared of them?"

"No, not really. I don't think they're even real. I mean there have been just reports and no actual evidence, like pictures that actually shows that there's some killers out there. They might be a bunch of people who copycat or want attention." I reply.

"But at least you know. I mean, I'm scared of them... they might attack anyone at any moment... I might as well be aware, you should, too."

"Don't worry, I'm fine..."

I spent the rest of my Friday afternoon in the park finishing homework and creating anything my imagination can come up with. I was in the sunlight sitting at a bench then I feel a shadow creep up behind me. I felt a bit paranoid and hesitant to see who -or what- it is. I freeze, then then turn around...

Oh... it's just officer Kradness, a relief.

"Ah! Kura-kun! Good afternoon! How is everything?" I smiled and was also relieved that I have a companion now.

"Hello, [First Name]-san! Good afternoon to you too. Just to let you know, everything's fine... And, do you need a companion to walk you home?" He kindly offers with a cute smile every time.

I always feel giddy at the feeling of Kradness being there for me, I wanna be there for him, I finally decided that... I do like him.

Falling in love, in fact.

"Yes, thank you," I feel my cheeks redden... a good sign, I bet.

"But first, do you want to wander around a certain area I like to spend my free time most days?" He holds out his hand.

"Sure, why not?" I take his hand.

Deeper into the greenery of the park, came a large lake surrounded by pink. My eyes widened at the absolutely beautiful sight. There were cherry blossom trees and their petals falling to the ground or getting carried away by the wind.

"Kradness, this is beautiful."

"Right? Just like the girl looking at it." He responds.

I look up to him. "Pardon me?"

"You look just as beautiful as this scenery." He smiles.

I blush at the compliment. "Thank you. Again... no one has really done this much for me before-other than my parents. But, why me?"

"Because you are special... very."

I blush harder... come on, it's just flattery, no big deal.

Kradness's P.O.V.

We walk around the pink, blue, and green landscape. We talk about school, interests, daily life, and more of such. I love how [First Name] beams when she sees or talks about somethings she loves. It's pure, her feelings.

"Hey, I have a little friend I want to introduce to you." I say.

"Really?" She smiles, "Who?"

"Come out-," I signal, and my lion pops out of my satchel and crawls up on my shoulder. "This is Krion, my lion."

"Aww, he's so adorable," she fangirls over it like a child. "Can I hold him?"

I laugh, "Sure!" I hand Krion over to her and he purrs on her shoulder... he even roared a couple of times... little cute roars.

"He's so cute. How's Kradness when he's home?" She wiggles her eyebrows at him.

My lion looks at me and does the same. I gave him a look meaning: Don't you dare.

He looks back at her and shrugs. "Aww." She looks at me. I quickly turn away blushing.

"Did you eat yet?"

"Yeah, I did." She smiles, looks at Krion on her shoulder, then at me. "Did you feed Krion? Did Krion eat?"

"Of course I did-at break time," I ensure. "Hey, aren't you afraid that it's getting a bit late?"

She looks up. "Oh yeah, it is."

"Let's walk home now. Shall we?"

"Sure."

She took my hand.

Your P.O.V.~

Kradness is being such a gentleman as always. I feel in debited to him, but he ensured to me that my succeeding was enough payback for his doings.

It was getting dark, and I was getting even more afraid. I grab onto his arm and hold him close- walking.

"Ah- [First Name]-san. What happened?" He asks me.

"Um... nothing much. I'm just a bit scared."

His warm chuckle made me feel better. "Don't worry. I'm here. Krion is too!"

We walk in the mid-darkness, illuminated by lampposts and occasional car passings. Walking home seemed longer than usual. Something felt unusual and uneasy.

I don't know but I think he heard something click, and I felt his muscles tense. Krion's ears leaped up, also. I was confused.

"Kradness? What's wrong?" I whisper... getting scared again. We stopped by an alleyway.

"Shh-" he insists. He brings me behind him as he faces the alleyway. "Come out... whoever you are... now!" He raises his voice.

Is there someone really there? Everything was quiet and all I could hear is my pounding heartbeat and Kradness's staggered breathing. Then... I hear footsteps come from the dark alley.

"Heh heh. You figured us out." I see one man with a long blade in his hand emerge.

"Interesting, and the officer has a girl with him." Another one says from the back as he revealed himself after the other.

"Very funny. Just two of you?" Kradness hisses as he draws out his sword- ready to defend.

"Oi, Ohohoho... this young officer has a lot of air. Come and fight us." The first man challenges.

The second one draws out his sword. "You have something valuable with you, we'll fight for it. Unless, you just hand it over and we won't fight. If you don't, there will be some harsh circumstances."

"What is it then?"

"The girl."

-Samurai Killers-

Oh no... I'm scared. Kradness may be in danger... I may be in danger. No... No... No...

"I'm sorry but I can't hand her over."

"Then pay."

"[First Name], stand back!" Kradness pushes me to the side away from him as the two men lunged forward.

"Gahh!" One yells and drops his weapon because Kradness cut him. The man stumbles back and clutches his wound.

"Get your ass off the ground!" The other man yells at the one down.

"Ughhhhh..." He groaned.

"Fine- hmph. Then it's just you and me, officer." He starts to attack him.

"STOP!" I yell.

"Shut up girl."

I watched helplessly at the sight of Kradness and the mysterious samurai killer clang their swords together in an intense fight. Left and right, their arms swing, the man was gaining while Kradness was almost to his limit. I hugged Krion in my arms, petting him and his shaking body.

I whispered, "Come on Kradness... you can do it... It'll be fine. Krion, Kradness will be-"

I was cut off by a horrific sight.

Kradness's grip on his weapon became loose and it flew out of his hands and he became unarmed and cornered. He could run from there, but he didn't. It was too late. The man stabbed Kradness's abdomen suddenly.

"NO! KRADNESS!" I screamed as I ran to his falling body, Krion by my side. Blood was spilling out of his wound.

"That's what you get- if you don't listen," the man said- without a scratch. The other man rustled up to stand and see. I pulled out my phone to dial the police.

"Now girl, you're ours..." One tried to get at me- but Krion attacked them. The lion scratched both of them but was soon pushed down to the floor. The two men got their weapons and ran from the scene, leaving Krion, Kradness, and I, behind.

I call the ambulance urgently while stroking Kradness's soft blond hair as he clutched his wound. I grabbed many tissues from my schoolbag and tried to help him plug the bleeding.

"[First Name]... ah-" He muttered as he winced in pain.

"Please, Don't die on me Kradness." Tears start spilling down my face.

"I won't... I'll... try not... to..." His eyes stare into mine.

Please... help... someone... quickly...
