Chapter 52: Making Moves

I can't believe all of this... Krillin thought to himself, flying back towards Capsule Corporation with Trunks as he glanced over at the papers in the other fighter's hands. At least now we might be able to figure out some sort of weakness that they have... The bald fighter realized, smirking as he pushed himself to go faster, hoping everyone else was doing alright...

"Krillin!" Trunks shouted suddenly, getting the other man's attention as he paused. "I want you to take these plans to my mother... I'm sure she'll be able to figure them out!"

"Uh, sure... But aren't you coming with me?" Krillin asked, wondering what he was going to do instead.

"No... " Trunks answered lowly, looking down as he wondered himself whether or not he was making the right decision. "I'm going to go find my father and train with him. If he really is able to achieve something beyond a Super Saiyan, maybe he can show me how to as well..."

"Listen Trunks..." Krillin said, thinking carefully of how he should put this. "I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think Vegeta will let you train with him... He's very, uh... Independent..." He finished, chuckling nervously as he knew it must be hard to be in the younger Saiyan's shoes...

"Yeah..." Trunks sighed, knowing the task would be difficult as his own father's stubbornness was unprecedented... "I don't really want to go but I think I should Krillin... See, it's my father... I must prove to him that I'm worthy of fighting alongside him... And if I train with him, maybe I can convince him of that..."

"Well, alright... If it's something you really have to do..." The bald man sighed, knowing he couldn't make him change his mind. Like father, like son...

Trunks nodded, holding out the rolled up plans to the fighter next to him as he smiled. "Take care of this my friend..."

"I will."

"Wish me luck..." Trunks said lightly, smirking as Krillin chuckled.

"You'll need it."

"Yeah..."Krillin sighed as he watched Trunks blast away, hoping Vegeta would go easy on the kid...

But for now, I've got bigger things to concentrate on... Krillin realized, shaking his head as he gripped Dr. Gero's schematics in his hands. I've got to get these to Bulma right away!

A few minutes later he arrived at Bulma's house, the blue haired scientist beginning the arduous task of deciphering the coded plans with the help of her father.

"So where's everyone else right now?" Bulma asked curiously, looking up at the bald fighter as he sighed.

"Well, Piccolo and the other's are searching for Cell..." Krillin explained, tilting his head as he thought about it. "So hopefully that's going well... And Trunks went off to find Vegeta..." He commented unsurely, raising one eyebrow as Bulma seemed a bit worried. "Best of luck there... As far as Luna goes, I have no idea. Things have been pretty hectic lately..."

"And any update on Goku?"

"Oh he's just resting at Kame House..." Krillin answered, knowing he should probably head back that way as well. "Probably still sleeping..." He mumbled, hoping that his friend would recover soon.

We really need you right now Goku...

...

Meanwhile, with the Acaiians...

...

"Master Ryuuto! Where are we going?" Luna questioned impatiently, flying behind her teacher as he continued to lead the way.

"To see an old friend of mine..." Ryuuto replied with a grin, knowing it had been a few hundred years since he had last been this planet. I do hope he remembers me...

"Surely that's not it..." Akari chuckled, holding onto to Kaito's jacket as she watched the landscape fly by underneath them all.

"Sadly, you are correct..." The older man sighed, wishing he was arriving with good news instead of bad. "This is more than just a casual visit I'm afraid..." He explained, glancing back at his three students before returning his attention to the skies ahead.

"And we'll be there soon enough... Then all will be explained."

...

Not too far away, in Nicky Town...

...

"Rrgh... He disappeared again!" Piccolo growled, looking around the deserted airport as Tien did the same. "I'm getting a little tired of this routine..."

"We almost had him this time Piccolo..." Tien sighed, frustrated as well but determined to succeed. "We're getting closer and closer to catching him every time he shows himself... He can't outrun us forever..."

The Namekian frowned, sensing for any signs of energy as he scanned the area once more, knowing there was definitely a good possibility that Cell was still close by...

How many more innocent people have to die at the hands of this monster? Piccolo thought, grimacing as he stared at all the empty clothes lying around. Little did he know, that somewhere, up above, someone was watching his every move...

Heh heh heh... Cell chuckled internally, observing the two fighters below as they tried to find any clue to his whereabouts. Good, good... Let those silly fools continue looking for me while I enjoy another meal heh heh heh....

...

Meanwhile, at the Son residence...

...

"So 18... What's it look like in there?" 17 questioned, crossing his arms as he waited outside along with 16.

"It looks like Goku's wife is a Chinese princess." The blonde woman stated, throwing down the dress she had in her hands as she continued to search through the woman's wardrobe. "Seriously, I'm glad she's my size... But who wears this junk?"

"I mean is Goku there?" 17 asked once more, losing his patience as he watched his sister walk through the front door holding something pink in her hand.

"Oh no... Place is empty. Devoid of both people and taste..." 18 commented sarcastically, holding up the pink sweater as she read was was stitched on to the front.

Luna... Hmm... The blonde woman thought, wondering if it might belong to that girl who had tried to interfere earlier. She might know something useful... She realized, remembering that for later as she tossed the article of clothing into the dirt carelessly.

"Huh... Didn't figure Goku for a runner..." 17 admitted, snapping his sister out of her thoughts as she sighed in annoyance.

"Well, if I was a guessing girl, I'd say they're at Kame House..." 18 replied boredly, knowing she was most likely right as her brother frowned.

"But that's like the second place we'd look!"

"Confirmed. That is the second place we shall look." 16 spoke up, nodding his head once as he turned in the direction of the small island.

"Come on!" 17 said, floating into the air as 18 let out of sigh of relief.

"At least he doesn't want to go find a boat now..." She mumbled, following after her brother as 16 did the same. All three androids blasting towards Kame House as they prepared to face off against Earth's greatest warrior...

...

Across the ocean at said pink house...

...

Everyone had gathered once again at the tiny shack in the middle of the ocean, crowded around the house's only tv as the news continued to report on the crisis at hand...

"And now over to Beverly Jones with the latest on the creature crisis..." The young man behind the microphone announced, the cameras switching as suddenly a dark haired woman could be seen on screen.

"The creature continues it's path of relentless destruction, sparring no one who happens to cross it's path..." The woman reported sadly, her tone somber as she went on. "Reports are coming in from South City, that the creature has been sighted all over town..."

"Cell..." Piccolo growled, clenching his fists as everyone frowned.

"He's on the attack again..." Krillin said seriously, wondering what they all could do. "But every time we go after him, he disappears!"

"Rrgh... What are we gonna do?!" Gohan shouted, jumping up as he couldn't stand to sit still anymore. "We should be helping those people! We outnumber Cell... We can beat him!"

"You... You think if we all go after Cell at the same time, we can beat him?" Tien mumbled, not sure if he liked those odds.

"There's no way he can handle all of us..." Gohan explained, clenching his fists as he tried to psych himself up. "If we come at him from all sides, he won't know what hit him!"

"Cell is much smarter than that..." Piccolo admitted, finally speaking up as everyone looked his way. "There's a good chance he's expecting us to try something like this... Don't underestimate him..." He warned, crossing his arms as he frowned. "Besides, no matter what, we can't let Cell join with the androids... And if the androids are looking for Goku, they'll most likely be coming here soon..."

"Let them." A familiar voice spoke up, causing everyone to spin around as they all looked towards the stairs in shock.

"Wow, don't look so surprised guys..." Goku laughed, scratching the back of his head as he noticed all the attention was on him now. "Sorry if I slept in a little late..."

"Goku!" Chi Chi said happily, tears forming in her eyes as she watched their son run towards him in excitement.

"Daddy!"

"Goku! You're all right!" Yamcha shouted, throwing one fist in the air as Krillin cheered as well.

"Goku... I can't belive it! You're back!"

"Yeah... So when do we eat?" The spiky haired Saiyan asked, half serious as everyone nearly collapsed while Krillin started chuckling.

"Goku... You nut... You're back to normal alright!" The bald fighter laughed, sniffling a bit as he was completely overjoyed at his long time friend's return.

"Well, a guy's gotta eat, right?"

"Oh Goku..." Chi Chi mumbled, walking towards him slowly as she hoped this all wasn't some cruel dream...

"I'm sorry I worried you Chi Chi..." Goku said quietly, everyone looking away briefly while giving them some time to have a personal moment. "But everything's gonna be alright... I'm all better now!" He said happily, his normally cheery tone returning as he smiled at his wife.

"Are you sure Goku?"

"Yeah! Here, see for yourself!" He replied with a grin, picking up the dark haired woman and spinning her around playfully as she laughed. Both fighters giggled like little kids as Gohan watched, smiling as he enjoyed this happy memory with his parents before Master Roshi spoke up.

"Goku..."

"Oh, hi!"

"So you're all better, huh?" His old teacher questioned, looking his former student over as he waited for a reply.

"Sure! I feel just fine..." Goku admitted, his happy-go-lucky smile suddenly fading as he remembered what he had to tell them all. "In my dreams I could hear everything that was going on... We're in deep trouble, aren't we?" He asked, looking around at all his friends as they nodded.

"Yeah man... A lot has happened since you've been out of commission..." Tien stated, not sure where to began. "But I'm glad you're back... We've got to stop Cell before he destroys another city!"

"I... I'm not ready to fight just yet..." Goku said unsurely, fiddling with the belt to his gi as everyone looked at him in shock.

"Goku... Why not?!" Roshi asked, wondering what the heck the problem was as everyone waited for his explanation.

"Of course he's not..." Chi Chi piped up, grabbing onto her husband's arm as she looked up at him. "You still need to rest... So... Just stay put..." She pleaded, hoping he wouldn't just run off and get himself hurt again...

"Hey... I'm all right... Just relax now." Goku sighed, smirking down at his wife as she tilted her head. "It's time for me to start my training once again! And it's time for me to move to the next level..."

"Huh?"

"What?!"

"Vegeta knows it too..." Goku went on, walking towards the window as he stared out across the ocean. "Through my dreams, I could hear him speaking what I had also felt... That there is a level beyond that of a Super Saiyan... And I will rise to claim it."

"Wha? Is... Is that even possible?" Tien asked, raising one eyebrow at his friend as he smiled.

"It's the only way to beat Cell... And I won't know unless I try..." Goku said, his eyes shining with determination as he glanced over at Piccolo. "Hey, Piccolo... There's no way we can defeat a power like Cell's in a fight right now..." The Saiyan explained, frowning as he hated to admit such a thing. "That's why I've decided to start training again! And I know a place where I can get a year of training done in a day..."

"Where is that?!" Yamcha asked in shock, as everyone else seemed curious as well."It's at Kami's place..."

"So it's back to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber..." Piccolo stated, looking down for a moment as he realized it would probably be their best chance off being able to keep up with these monsters. "I see... No one has ever been able to stay there for more than a year... No one... It might be way more than you can handle Goku..."

"Yeah... That's why I'm taking Trunks and Vegeta." Goku replied, tilting his head to the side as he thought about his plan. "Surely one of us will be able to do it..."

"Then go, quickly!" Piccolo urged, "Cell gets stronger every day and time is in short supply... If we let Cell absorb 17, we're finished for sure..."

"True... Hey... Chi Chi!" Goku said suddenly, looking over at his wife with a goofy grin. "I'd like to take Gohan with me if that's okay with you..." He asked, completely oblivious to the woman's obvious anger.

"That's a joke, right?" Chi Chi growled, making everyone nervous as they knew this couldn't turn out good. "Right?!"

"Huh?"

"Well? What do you think I'll say Goku?" The dark haired woman asked sarcastically, glaring at the man across from her as everyone remained silent, the two of them continuing to stare each other down...

"Hmm... Yeah, go ahead..." Chi Chi said finally, surprising even Goku as they all continued to listen. "I can't stop you... But I want you to make sure Gohan gets as strong as possible!" She demanded, playfully tapping her fist against the Saiyan's cheek before grinning. "...Kay?"

"Sure!" Goku agreed, glad Chi Chi finally seemed to understand the importance of their training. "Come on Gohan..." The Saiyan urged, surprising his son as he held out his hand. "Take my hand."

"Right." The younger Saiyan nodded, holding onto his father as he watched him place two fingers on his forehead. "Let's do it!"

"Wait! Before you go..." Krillin said quickly, everyone looking at him as he went on. "Is it true that you guys will be gone for just one day? That's cool..." The bald fighter chuckled lightly, his face becoming serious once more as he knew they all had work to do. "Train hard... We'll find Cell."

"It's a deal!" Goku said with a smirk, focusing on Vegeta's and Trunks' energy as he prepared to teleport to their location.

"Gohan... Take care now..." Chi Chi said quietly, wishing them both luck as they all watched them disappear. "Come back... Soon..." The dark haired woman mumbled, wishing at least Luna was here to keep her company. I wonder how she's doing...

"Things are looking up!" Tien chuckled, putting both hands on his hips as he smiled. "When those guys are done training, I know we'll be ready for Cell!"

"You bet..." Krillin promised, grinning as he imagined taking out that horrible monster. "We'll win! And Cell's days of terrorizing people will be over for good!"
