Chapter 50: A Disturbance

"So you think this is whatever came from that egg Trunks?" Gohan asked, looking over at the Saiyan who seemed to be deep in thought.

"Definitely." He sighed, his eyes narrowing as he thought about how off track this whole mission had gone. "This isn't the work of the androids, that's for sure..."

"What are we going to do?" Krillin wondered out loud, not exactly expecting an answer as everyone seemed at a loss for words...

"I'm going to go down there and check it out myself..." Trunks said suddenly, everyone looking at him like he was crazy. "I'll admit... After everything that's happened, I'm a little bit worried I'm responsible for these events..." He finished dejectedly, looking down at the floor as Yamcha frowned."Wait! Are you sure you should go alone?"

"The only other person who's strong enough to help us right now would be my father..." Trunks replied, heading towards the door before pausing. "And even if I knew where he was, which I don't, I'm not sure he would help us..."

...

Meanwhile, in Ginger Town...

...

"What the hell is going on here?" Piccolo said, narrowing his eyes at the strange looking creature in front of him as he knew this couldn't be good...

The insect-like monster just laughed darkly, staring back at Piccolo casually before answering. "Let's answer your question... With another question..." He rasped, holding up the man he had been dragging behind him before smirking.

"Yeah? And what's tha-"

"Wanna see me drink this guy?!" He shouted, surprising the Namekian as he jumped back, watching with wide eyes as the monster stabbed the man in the back with his tail, sucking the very life out of him. The fatter man in his grasp melted slowly, seeming to drip out of his clothes until there was nothing left as Piccolo felt a chill go down his spine, unable to look away from the gruesome sight.

"Ahh..." The monster in front of him sighed, his tail swaying happily behind him as he relaxed a bit. "So Piccolo... What brings you to my neighborhood?"

"I sensed a disturbance." Piccolo answered seriously, clenching his fists as he promised he would make this bastard pay...

"Well I am pretty disturbing!" The strange creature admitted, laughing darkly before smirking. "Remember that time I drank that guy? That was fucking weird..."

"So I take it your the one who exterminated this entire city then?" Piccolo growled, through playing games with this monster.

"Oh, no no... That was another guy. His name was shit Sherlock, first name No."

"Why? Just why?!" Piccolo questioned, gritting his teeth as he wondered why such evil had to exist... Not only do we all have to worry about the androids but now this too?!

"Well, three reasons..." The bug in front of him explained, entertained for the moment by this encounter. "First, I was asleep for like, four years and I am understandably hungry... Two, there's nothing more satisfying than the rush I get from watching a person disappear..." He rasped, his tone dark as Piccolo coudn't help but shiver. "And three... And I need you to pay attention on this one..." He finished, looking up at Piccolo with a smirk before powering up.

"HUUYAAHHHHH!"

...

Across the ocean, at a familiar pink house...

...

"Huh?!" Gohan gasped, jumping up as Krillin looked over in surprise. "Why does it felt like my dad is fighting Mr. Piccolo?" The young Saiyan asked, clearly confused as he concentrated on the powers that were colliding not too far away. "And Vegeta is fighting Mr. Piccolo? And Mr. Piccolo is fighting... Mr. Piccolo..." Gohan trailed off, knowing something had to be wrong...

"That's weird... It even feels like I'm out there..." Krillin admitted, not sure what to make of this either.

"It feels like everyone we know is fighting Mr. Piccolo..." Gohan went on, wondering how that could be possible.

"Except for Yamcha." Krillin noted, looking back at the dark haired fighter as he tilted his head.

"Well duh, that's because I'm right here!"

"Yeah... That's gotta be it..." Krillin mumbled, coughing a few times before thinking about what all of this meant as both of them stared out the window towards the source of the strange power...

...

Back on the battlefield...

...

"Ahhh... And three... That is how I power the beautiful temple that is my body..." The mysterious insect explained, watching Piccolo with a predatory look in his eyes as the Namekian glared back at him.

"You... You're a monster!" He growled, weighing his options as he knew he couldn't let this creature escape. "However... As much as it disgusts me to admit, you and I at least have one thing in common..." Piccolo admitted, ready for a fight as the bug across from him grinned wickedly.

"More than you know... But continue..."

"We both get a significant power up when we absorb someone..."

"Ominous!"

"RrghhAHHHHH!" Piccolo roared, a golden sphere of energy surrounding him as he powered up, lighting up the entire city as his ki sky rocketed.

The monster in front of him grimaced, crossing both his arms as he tried his best to stand his ground, waves of Piccolo's energy slowly pushing him back through as he continued to raise his ki. Small rocks were turned to dust as the pressure around them both was more intense than most fighters could handle as Piccolo stared down the evil bug creature...

"Hmm hmmhmm... I'm impressed Namek..." The mysterious fighter admitted, the corner of his orange mouth turning up slightly. "Your power is astounding... I'm sure you will prove to be a most satisfying meal..." He finished cockily, licking his lips as Piccolo merely chuckled.

"Don't count on it..." He said seriously, his brows knitting together as he thought about all the innocent people that had perished... "You know you've made one critical mistake... You should have never emptied this city of it's entire population..." Piccolo explained, watching as the creature in front of him stared back in confusion.

"And why is that?"

"Because as long as there are no innocent bystanders to get in the way, I'm free to fight you with the best of my abilities!"

"So what's stopping you?"

"You know, that's a really good question..." Piccolo answered, his energy crackling around him like lightening as he raised one hand towards his opponent while focusing his ki. "Rrgh... HAAAAA!" He shouted, gathering a massive amount of energy into his palm before releasing it as the creature in front of him's eyes widened.

The force of the blast sent everything in that direction flying, debris and rocks disintegrating upon impact as the area was bathed in a golden glow...

Finally, the smoke began to clear as Piccolo lowered his hand, scanning the area as he knew he couldn't underestimate this new threat...

...

At the Acaiian's temple...

...

"That's Piccolo!" Luna said suddenly, jumping up as she sensed something strange about the energy he was fighting... "Why does it feel like there's two of him?" She questioned out loud, making Kaito and Akari look at her in confusion.

"I see you've learned some valuable skills during your stay here..." Ryuuto commented, unaware that their princess possessed the ability to sense energy as well.

"They're close by... I have to go see what's going on!" Luna said quickly, bowing in front of her master as he watched her calmly. "If he's fighting one of the androids, then he's going to need help..."

"Woah, hold on!" Kaito said quickly, grabbing her wrist before she could take off. "You can't just go alone! Master Ryuuto, talk some sense into her!" The white haired man urged, looking to his elder for help as the old man simply sighed.

"Accompany her Kaito... Make sure her friends are safe, then both of you are to return here to start your training, understood?" He ordered, not wanting to waste anymore time than necessary.

Luna bowed again quickly, smiling at her master as she took off running towards the temple door.

"Luna! Wait up!" Kaito shouted, turning around quickly and grabbing Akari's hand, looking into her crimson eyes for a few seconds before taking off as well. "I said HOLD UP!"

The blonde Acaiian sighed, grinning to herself as she knew her childhood friends would never change. Those two will always be the same... She thought, shaking her head before glancing over at Ryuuto.

"Do you think they'll be alright?" Akari asked, putting one hand over her stomach instinctively while worring about what they might both be up against.

"If they cannot handle whatever threat these 'androids' pose to this planet, then their chances of defeating the Zetsubo no Kiri are non-existent." Ryuuto answered calmly, pouring the woman across from him another cup of tea before smiling wearily as she seemed unsatisfied with his answer. "Have faith my child... You'd be surprised how much help that can do..."

...

Somewhere else in the mountains, not too far away...

...

17 slammed on the brakes, their pink van screeching to a halt as he jumped out of the driver's seat, walking across the highway before staring past the mountain range in the distance.

"What was that?" 18 questioned, walking to stand beside her brother as they both knew something big was happening...

"It felt like some sort of explosion... And a big one too..." 17 commented, his eyes narrowing as he knew it was something that had to be dealt with. "I wonder what it was... It was much too far away to tell where it came from..." 17 sighed, ready to jump back in the car before 16 spoke up.

"It came from Ginger Town." The red haired android stated, stepping out of the back of the van as 17 and 18 looked at him in surprise. "Two enormous powers are fighting there."

"You mean your sensors can detect power levels?" 17 asked, somewhat shocked he didn't know this already. "Why didn't you tell us that before?!"

"Because you did not ask."

"Alright... Fair enough." The dark haired boy smirked, amused with their new stoic friend. "Now I don't suppose you can tell me who it is that's fighting?" He asked politely, hoping the other android would provide an answer.

"No, I cannot. I do not recognize either of these powers..." 16 stated, his brows moving a bit closer together as he paused for a moment. "My sensors indicate that one of the fighters is just as strong as you 17."

"What's that?!"

"My sensors indicate that-"

"I heard what you said!" 17 shouted, grinding his teeth together as he realized that couldn't be right. "Your sensors must be malfunctioning... Nobody is as strong as I am!" He growled, unable to believe there could be another fighter as powerful out there. "Pfft... Really, as strong as I am..." 17 repeated, chuckling to himself before jumping behind the wheel once more.

"Let's go 16..." The blonde woman sighed, shaking her head at her over confident brother before heading back towards the van.

The red haired android just stood there, staring into the distance for a few moments more as he tried to get a read on what was happening in Ginger Town...
