Chapter 5: Gotta Go Fast

Go, go, go, go! Luna shouted over and over again in her mind, flying as fast as possible while clutching the tiny green child to her chest. She glanced down at him quickly, noticing that he seemed to be unconscious. Probably due to the amount of stress he had just undergone. Poor kid... She thought, frowning while redirecting her attention to the green and blue landscape in front of her.

I have to find a place to hide and quick... If Zarbon or Dodoria catch me... I'm done fo-

A sudden kick to her back knocked the wind out of her, sending her plummeting down towards the water below. She crashed into its surface, making a huge splash before blasting forward again, knowing it was pointless trying to run.

"Thought you could get away with that little stunt twerp?!" Dodoria shouted while chasing after her, sounding more pissed than she had ever seen him.

Another hit to her side knocked her off course, sending her a good distance before the fat man appeared right in front of her. Luna's eyes widened in fear as she had no time to dodge before a vicious punch to the face sent her spinning back. She coughed weakly, trying to regain her composure as she felt a warm liquid running down her forehead. She knew Dodoria was just toying with her. Frieza would be furious with him if he killed her... But she was still scared of what might happen. Honestly, Dodoria beating her to a pulp would probably be less painful than what Frieza would have in store for her once he learned about her disobedience...

What am I going to do?! She panicked, watching in horror as Dodoria smirked wickedly before rocketing forward with incredible speed. Luna turned to the side, shielding the child in her arms as she prepared to take the brunt of another attack. A loud crash made Luna jump back instinctively as Dodoria was suddenly sent sailing away a few yards, grunting in annoyance before fixing the man who had attacked him with a merciless glare.

"Who the hell are you?!" Dodoria growled at the bald man in front of him, raising his hand as he formed a yellow ball of energy. "Not that it matters anyway... Because you're about to die!" He roared, firing multiple attacks at the shorter man who was trying his best to dodge them.

"Come on!"

A small tug on her arm surprised Luna as she was too caught up in watching the battle in front of her to notice that a small dark haired boy had appeared at her side.

"Who are-"

"I'll explain later!" He said promptly, noticing her hesitation as he attempted to pull her along, "We've gotta find a place to hide!"

"But what about your friend-"

"He'll be okay, now come on! Follow me!"

That was all she needed to hear. Whoever these two were, if they were going to help her get away from Zarbon and Dodoria, they couldn't be that bad. And without either of them having their scouters, maybe she would actually have a chance at staying under the radar for a while. Luna flew after the kid in front of her, sparing a quick glance back to the man in the orange gi who was still dodging Dodoria's attacks.

Suddenly, Dodoria lunged forward, grabbing the other man by his ankle as he held him in front of his face while laughing victoriously. "Gotcha!" He shouted, as Luna gasped, causing the boy in front of her to turn around. Just as Dodoria was about to attack, the smaller man whipped around, placing two fingers on each side of his head as he yelled.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

"Argh! Goddammit!"

Everything flashed white, forcing Luna to shut her eyes as she felt herself being dragged down rapidly. When she opened them again, she noticed she was in a cave with the dark haired kid and the other man. Both of them watching her with strange expressions on their faces.

"W-what just hap-"

"Shh!" The man in the orange gi shushed her as they all waited in silence for a moment before hearing Dodoria screaming outside.

"If you think you can outrun me, you've got another thing coming!" He shouted, the deafening sound of nearby rocks exploding making Luna flinch. "When I get my hands on you, you're going to welcome death! Do you hear me?! I'm going to tear you apart! I'm going to rip you to pieces!" He continued, blasting more of the landscape away as he relentlessly bellowed threat after threat.

"All we can do now is wait for him to leave..." The bald man muttered, glancing at the younger boy who nodded in agreement before they both turned to stare at Luna who was checking on the still unconscious Namekian child. She laid him down near the wall of the cave, checking him for injuries before sighing and turning to look at the two people who had just saved them.

"Um, thank you..." She whispered, bowing her head respectfully before straightening up again. "I don't know what I would have done if you two hadn't shown up..."

"Ah, don't mention it!" The short man mumbled, blushing slightly as he scratched the back of his head. "We saw what you did back at that village and we knew we had to help..."

Luna's eyes widened a bit as she redirected her attention at the ground before responding. "So... Then you know that I was with those two back there?" She asked quietly, truly ashamed of her previous involvement. "I swear, I didn't know what they were going to do... I just-"

"Look," The man in orange stated while looking at her seriously. "We saw you trying to stop them. We both realized that you were nothing like those monsters... And if I had to guess, you were probably there against your will... Is that right?"

Luna nodded slowly, still refusing to look up as she heard him sigh.

"Well, I suppose I should thank you..." He chuckled, making Luna glance at him in confusion. "If you didn't grab that kid when you did, I'm pretty sure Gohan here would have jumped down and kicked that pink wad of bubblegum himself!"

Luna looked at the younger boy as he nodded, smiling at her before she let out a small giggle while thinking about Dodoria being referred to as a 'wad of bubblegum'. The other man smiled, ruffling the boy's hair before sporting a worried expression. "And Chi Chi would've killed me if I'd let anything bad happen to him..."

She wondered who this 'Chi Chi' was as she watched him shake his head as if to rid himself of that thought. "Anyway," He sighed while turning his attention back to the lavender haired girl, "Let's just start fresh. I'm Krillin and this is Gohan..." He said while gesturing to the smaller boy beside him, "What's your name?"

Luna smiled back at them, overjoyed at the thought of making some real friends. The excitement definitely showed in her emerald eyes as she took a deep breath before responding.

"I'm Luna... It's nice to officially meet you both."

...

Back on Frieza's ship...

...

"Lord Frieza... There's been an incident..." Zarbon said hesitantly, unsure of how his master would react to the information he was about to provide. Judging by the look he was giving him, not well.

"Where are Dodoria and the girl?" Frieza questioned, glaring at the green haired man savagely.

"W-well, that's the problem sir..." Zarbon explained, standing up and clearing his throat nervously before continuing. "Everything was going according to plan until that idiotic woman decided to disobey our orders. She took off while we were retrieving one of the dragonballs... But not to worry, I've instructed Dodoria to return with her, alive of course, as per your orders. I came back here first however, to deliver these..."

Zarbon stepped to the side, snapping his fingers once as the door to Frieza's chambers slid open revealing two of his subordinates, each one carrying a dragonball that they had collected. As soon as they laid the giant orange orbs at his feet, he waved his hand again, dismissing them as the door shut behind them.

"Hmm, very good Zarbon..." Frieza mused, staring at the circular objects with interest. "You were correct in choosing to bring me these first..."

"Thank you, sir." He replied while letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Our scouters were damaged at the last village we targeted... Shall I acquire another one and assist Dodoria in her capture?"

"No." Frieza commanded fiercely, locking eyes with the teal skinned man before proceeding with his orders. "Gathering all seven of these dragonballs are our first priority. Besides, if Dodoria can't handle a simple mission like this alone, then he is useless to me..."

"Yes, sir... Understood."

Zarbon turned to leave, but stopped when the sinister voice that made a chill run down his spine regularly spoke again.

"Oh, and Zarbon?"

"Yes, sir?"

"I want the remaining five dragonballs in front of me very soon... No more mistakes. Otherwise, Dodoria won't be the only one around here who's useless..." Frieza scoffed, turning around in his hovering chair to stare out at the landscape of Namek.

"Y-yes, Lord Frieza..."
