Chapter 3: Sassy Bois Don't Get Candy

"Hold still Zarbon!" Luna hissed, frowning at the large man laying on the table in front of her, "How many times do I have to tell you? It's going to take longer if you keep moving!"

He sent her a nasty look, growling at her as if daring her to make another attempt at telling him what to do. Luna smirked to herself, secretly loving moments like these where she was able to order him around a bit. They were definitely few and far between and she didn't ever let him forget it when he had to come to her for help.

"That's better..." She said staring down at the injury she was currently healing. "Now, if you're a good boy, I'll give you a lollipop when we're all done-"

"Would you cease your idiotic comments and concentrate!" Zarbon snapped, slamming his fists on the table before shooting her another deadly glare, "You're lucky we need you for this mission or I'd blast you through the wall! Insolent wench..."

"Tch, that kind of attitude isn't going to get you the lollipop..."

Luna pulled her hands away before he could retort, or attack her, inspecting the spot on his arm where the wound had previously been. It looked good as new. As much as she hated to admit it, her healing abilities had increased dramatically since the day she was captured. Whenever one of his men was injured, Frieza sent them to her instead of using the rejuvenation tanks. And at this point, she could heal anyone faster than that outdated machinery anyway.

"You're all set then Zarbon," She noted, standing up as she watched the larger man do the same before flexing his arm as if to make sure she had truly healed it. "Any word of when we'll be approaching Namek?"

Zarbon let out an exasperated sigh as he stared down at the purple haired girl who was patiently waiting for an answer. "If you must know..." He said, already exhausted with her incessant questioning and irritating jokes. "We are scheduled to arrive tomorrow at dawn. You are to report to the loading dock at 0800 hours... Don't be late."

"I won't!" Luna practically sang, momentarily caught up in the excitement of finally getting off the ship. There was an underlying feeling of sadness, as she knew the only reason they were going to this planet was to destroy it... Or if it was deemed worthy, exterminate all living beings who resided there so Frieza could sell it for a profit. But something she felt more than regret for aiding someone as heartless as Frieza and his crew was the overwhelming feeling of hope. Maybe she would have a chance while she was out there... A chance for freedom.

Even just feeling the wind against my skin... She thought wistfully, letting herself get caught in a memory that almost seemed like a dream. To feel the sun on my face again...

"Woman!" Zarbon shouted abruptly, making her jump as she stared in confusion at the man frowning in front of her. "Pay attention when I am speaking!"

"Yes... Sorry..." Luna apologized, feeling a light blush spreading across her face as she realized just how lost she had been in her fantasy. "I'm just excited to be off the ship for a bit... It will be my first time since..."

"Hmpf. Well don't let it happen again." He ordered while making his way towards the door, pausing for a second before leaving. "And don't make me regret suggesting to take you with us." And with that, he was gone leaving a shocked Luna to think about what he'd said.

...

The next morning...

...

Luna made sure she was early. She was the first one there in fact, and she'd had plenty of time to get ready, seeing as the night before she was unable to get even a wink of sleep. So many questions were swimming in her mind, as the hours she had spent thinking about and planning her escape, all came to the same unfortunate conclusion. Even if she did manage to distract Zarbon and Dodoria somehow and get away, then what would she do? She didn't have a ship...

Maybe the inhabitants of Namek would have something useful she could use to make her getaway... Would she even have time to search for something like that with Frieza and his men dead set on getting their revenge for her treachery? Luna shivered, not even wanting to consider what would happen if Freiza did manage to track her down after she went against his orders. She shook her head, trying her best to clear away all the negativity. She would just have to wait it out and see what happened on their mission. Maybe an opportunity would present itself.

This is it... Luna thought, distracting herself by imagining what this new planet would be like. I wonder if it's anything like planet Acaii...

Before she could dwell on that idea too much, the sound of footsteps approaching made her tense up as Zarbon rounded the corner followed by Dodoria who was currently complaining about something...

"I don't know why we have to take that little twerp with us! She's only going to slow us down!"

"Would you like to tell Lord Frieza that you disagree with his judgement?" Zarbon answered coolly, glancing at the pink man who was now finally silent. "That's what I thought. You'll just have to deal with her until the mission is over..."

"Ahem," Luna said, clearing her throat while placing her hands on her hips in annoyance. "I'm right here you know!"

"So what?" Dodoria responded contemptuously, shoving her into the wall as he made his way past her towards the door. "Don't forget, Frieza said you report to us while we're off the ship... So keep your mouth shut unless asked to speak, got it?"

Asshole... Luna brooded, straightening herself up as she waited for her orders.

"Now, now, that's enough Dodoria..." Zarbon said in a bored tone, pulling something out from behind him and tossing it to Luna. "Here, you'll need this while we're out..."

Luna caught the strange device in her hands, turning it over a couple of times before realizing what it was. "A scouter?" She questioned, wondering why he was giving this to her as she had never had the need to use one before.

"You'll need that if for any reason we become separated during battle..." The green haired man answered, watching in amusement as she struggled to fit it on her head. "Or if something would cause us to split up, you'll be able to find us. Press the button on the side."

Luna did as she was told, eyes wide in fascination as numbers began to cycle before her eyes. 22,000... Jeez... She thought nervously, feeling a bit disheartened while knowing that her power level was way below that of Zarbon's. I wonder how strong Dodoria is...

She stared at the shorter man while pressing the button again before the numbers settled on 20,000. I figured Zarbon would be stronger, but they are almost evenly matched... She shuddered at the thought of what Frieza's power level must be.

"Zarbon...?" She questioned, unable to ignore her own curiosity. "What's my power level?"

He smirked as he activated his own scouter before chuckling condescendingly. "It's 3,500."

Her heart sank as all hope of escaping flew out the window. I've gotten stronger in these past few years... But I'm still so much weaker than almost everyone on this ship... I'm never going to be able to get away, am I? She thought sadly, her shoulders dropping a bit as the sound of the mechanical doors opening filled their ears.

What am I going to do?

"Let's go." Zarbon ordered as him and Dodoria took off while Luna flew a few feet behind them. She took in the passing scenery curiously before a more dejected look graced her features as she thought about the destruction that was about to take place. Luna closed her eyes for a moment, praying to a god she hoped, for this planet's sake, existed...

Please... Please let there be someone out there who can help me...
