Weak
"I'll kill you." You said quietly to yourself, gripping your knives tightly "Did you hear that? I'll kill you!"
Angry tears fell down your face, streaking clean paths on your dirty face.
It just killed the Master of fire.
Kai's gone.
He's dead.
And you blamed yourself.
If you had moved a little quicker, to avoid that hit, maybe Kai wouldn't have had to fight alone. If you hadn't told Kai your ridiculous theory about this building having the real hostage, it all could've been avoided. If you would have just mastered your damn element that you supposedly had, you could've summoned a power dragon and caught him when he fell!
But you were weak. You weren't like your brother, or Nya, or Zane, or any of them. You weren't special, didn't have any powers to help you in a fight. You had your knives, and your brains, and that was it.
You were just you.
Ninjago just lost one of its protectors, who can never be replaced. No one, especially you, could ever fill his position.
"Killing you may not bring Kai back," you said, wiping away your tears in frustration. "But maybe it'll make me feel better."
Revenge is never the answer, Sensei Wu had said during one of your first training sessions. He was right, and you knew it. But that didn't mean revenge wasn't an option.
The thing said nothing. You didn't really expect it to, anyways. It annoyed you the way it tilted its head, looking at you like you were something it couldn't figure out. Like, hey, I just broke this girl's rib, sent her team mate flying off a building, and she still has the nerve to threaten me?
You struggled to your feet, feeling dizzy from the pain of your side. Your legs shook from the simple task of standing. But you remained up right out of pure anger, and hatred.
Zane had once told you that relying on anger and spite to fuel you in battle was a foolish move to make.
Well, it was literally the only thing that was keeping you standing.
You stared into its acid eyes, daring it to come and fight you. You got into a fighting stance, wincing, and it almost looked amused.
Then it came at you.
And you were less than ready.
It was so much quicker than you. It was definitely faster now that your movement was restricted. Moving in the wrong way could make your rib puncture your lung.
It swung its stupid pipe at you, almost too quick for you to see, making it harder and harder to deflect each blow with one of your own weapons. You were all defense, and no offence. It was really getting on your nerves.
You tried your best to keep up with it, but you knew soon what was left of your weakened agility wasn't going to last long. It feinted, like it was going to strike to the right, but then swung left and hit your shoulder.
You screamed and dropped your left knife, you right hand clutching the other one tightly. You didn't think that a hit to the shoulder could dislocate it ( Hey, what did you know? You weren't Zane, the unofficial medic of the bounty.) But it hurt like a bitch, and you couldn't even move your hand.
"Oh yeah, just break some other bone in my body, why don't ya?" You hissed angrily. Then you realized something.
Why didn't it aim for your head?
Just now it had a clear shot. Your left side was defenseless. It could have easily smacked you on the head and kill you (A wave of grief hit you as you thought of the red ninja). But instead, it aimed for your shoulder. Why?
You were so caught up in your thoughts, you didn't notice the fist coming at your face.
Which, some how, made it hurt even worse.
You wiped your now bleeding nose, and spat some blood. The thing watched you, on the balls of its feet, ready in case you tried attacking.
"Who the hell sent you?" You demanded. "Why did you lure us here? What do you want!?"
It's only answer was a wad of acid aimed for your good arm.
You managed you side step it. You ran towards it, aiming a spin kick at its face, but it moved so quickly, you didn't have time to process it grabbing your foot, and throwing you across the roof.
You landed on your bad side and cried out in pain. It felt like your whole side was numb. You could barely hear anything other than your fast heart beat, and your body throbbing in pain. You couldn't sit up, only lay there as the acid eyed creature approached you. You gripped your only defense you had left: your right hand knife.
You were at least going to get in one hit before this thing killed you. For Kai.
You didn't know if you could, your vision was swimming from pain, and you felt like you were about to pass out, but you were going to try anyways.
You rolled onto your back, your shoulder, rib, and nose throbbing, your eyes starting to close, and looked at the things direction.
But it was gone.
What?
You looked around as much as your body allowed, but could not see it anywhere.
Where the hell did it go?
You looked up at the sky, bright blue and cloudless. You thought it should be raining. After all, some one did die.
Tears started to fall again, and then you were sobbing, lying there on the roof, hardly able to move, just feeling sorry for yourself.
Why couldn't I be like Cole? Why couldn't I save him?
Why did I just sit there while he fell to his death?
Why don't I know my element yet?
The pain was too much, physical, and emotional. You were starting to slip into sleep. You fought against it as much as you could, but everything hurt..... It would be nice to just sleep, and not feel for a while........
The last thing you heard before your eyes shut was someone screaming your name, and the sound of beating wings.
BUM BUM
BUMMMMMM
So, a lot of you guys have been asking for an update... again XD
I absolutely promise I'll try to upload faster next time. To be honest, I didn't really mean to leave it on another cliff hanger, but I guess I just don't plan well.
Later golden hearts!!!!
