Candle Dies

Silence becomes my friend

Over time the joy ends

The loss of love cut so deep

Left me homeless in the street

I stare deeply into this small candles flame

Of a life I lived, I turn my head in shame

For the price was high once I lost it all

The candle burns slowly and I start to bawl

Memories of you beat me back into shame

Hopelessly hoping to hear you call my name

As the weather turns cold I can feel the chill

Lost warmer days and the love of the thrill

The wind bites my body and I ignore the pain

I am falling apart as the wind brings the rain

Sitting here alone in this alley of tears

Noone will remember my name in a few years

I close my eyes and look back one last time

You had my heart but the world had my mind

The candle flickers again and I see its almost time

Nomore memories for me to hide behind

I close my eyes tight and pull my covers to my neck

The time has come for my last trick

I will simply vanish from this world

With one last breath......the candle dies the wind swirls
