31-corona virus

Corona, I am just a weak girl calling you.
When are you leaving our country?
Tell me...
Please tell me.

You have taken the lives of countless souls,
you have our people hidden,
feared,
dead,
and scared to die.
Corona, have you not had enough?
Is the toll you've taken not enough to quench your thirst for despair?

You have owned the lives of those who have you,
and now other nations want us to embrace you—
so they fake it, so we have you at all costs.

Ha... we trusted you with our lives,
and you chose to kill us instead.
Forget our president,
that fool who left his people to suffer,
who traveled far for his own safety,
while his mates struggle in their own countries.

Ha... Ha... Ha...
Nigeria, when will you open your eyes?
When will you see that in this Corona period, all other countries are enemies?
When will you recognize the child you picked as a president?
When will you realize that prevention is better than cure?

If there is anyone to blame for our suffering with Corona, it is our president—
he who sat on a throne of complacency, doing nothing to stop the infected from entering our land,
just because his daughter is safe in another country.

Now we no longer look to the future with hope;
instead, we gaze into a void—
a future filled with uncertainty if we survive this—if we survive at all.
Children no longer say, “When I go to university, I’ll be the best.”
Now they whisper, “When this Corona period ends, I want to start going to school four weeks later,”
for fear that it may still linger like a shadow over their dreams.

We have no one to rely on but He who made us.
Please help Nigeria.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!

Stay safe; wear a mask—home-made please.
Stay indoors; pray for forgiveness and remember—
the children of God have faced all kinds of life-risking situations.
But with God by their side, they emerged victorious.

Let us gather strength from one another; let our voices rise in unity.
In this battle against an unseen enemy, we must stand together—
for in solidarity lies our hope.

May we find resilience in our hearts and courage in our spirits.
Let love guide us through these dark times and light the path ahead.
