"Welcome to the freak show kid," They said, "Hi," a silhouette said walking out of some corner. They sounded normal, just like a normal kid, though he sounded older than I but not too much older. When the silhouette stepped out a shiver of horror ran across me, eyes as black as silhouettes in front of the rising sun, it was all of their eyes actually, flooding out like blood from a deep wound. Skin gray, hair gray. Not natural gray hair. "Erm, sorry if I scared you, I have a reputation for doing that but I really just don't wanna harm anyone, I just wanna escape this place with everyone." Cackling came from somewhere else, "ESCAPE?! Oh how naive, you and I know from a tough TWELVE YEARS that escape is the same as asking for just some reliving of death! Dusk you moron!" The one who cried out stepped into view, they had their hair covering their right eye, a brown and white coat, and full black pupils with their whole left eye yellow.
They shoved me towards Browncoat and walked off "Stitchface! You watch them and bring them old Metalface!" Browncoat looked at me with dull eyes. "Call me whatever. Some people call me 'it'. I don't care what you call me, my friends call me White." "I'll call you White then." I said back to White. "Don't mind the stitches, eyes, and mouths," White said to me. "Dusk is coming with us to Robot Man Charlie or something."
"Also that guy, the one who shoved you, his name is Axel." White said to me.
We walked for so long my feet hurt every time we walked. "I hate to say it but we're here." White said to me. I looked up and saw a town? People, or at least things resembling people, walked about, talking, laughing, gossiping. Reminds me of home, it did. I blinked and tried not to cry at the thought of home. Dusk looked at me with his dark eyes "It hurts when you think about it. Just think about why we are here." He told me.
White walked into this building, sorta a tower but it was kinda off. We walked up to this person. Ice-blue eyes stared at him, I felt myself shiver. "Hello. We need to see ol' Sparks for Brains." White said to the person, the other person nodded. "Is it scheduled?" They asked "There's a new guy, Axel told me to take em' to him." "If Axel said so he probably would know." The new person said.
"C'mon bud," White told me to follow him up some stairs. "Why am I going here?" I dared to ask. White looked at me with a cold glare, "Hmph, who knows. He's been here for way too long. Charlie, Axel, Vines. You should be scared of them. They have lost it, their humanity, innocence, sanity, family, even remembrance. All they have is power they don't try to abuse. They just have agreed to have a spot in this 'community'. Good or bad. When I came here I saw Vines. He was kind and warm. Doubt he is half of what he was then. But Charlie is a wildcard, I'd keep my guard up. He has a twisted mind game and loves to see how the human mind reacts to his little games of violence, well close to human." White said back to my question.
When we got to the final step I was tired. My feet ached, my legs were exhausted. "Remember. Don't let him get to you." White told me. When we entered. I don't know what was more shocking. Charlie himself or the building. But White was right. He really did have his humanity ripped away. I don't even wanna explain what he looked like. "Oh White! Do you like my company or are you just lonely?" Charlie said, "Just lonely." White responded. Charlie looked at White and smiled smugly. He called us all to step out except White. He closed a curtain and I overheard this conversation, "White, a number 1-12," "Eh? Why?" "Because I said so!" Charlie scowled at White, "Ok, erm... 12." "12 Eh? Thanks for the choice." I heard a blade drawn. I looked at the silhouettes through the curtain. A knife was drawn pointing straight at White. He stepped back, he did again twice a little faster. And Charlie slowly walked towards him, knife straight at White's chest. White stepped back into a wall and slid to the ground. A face of horror on White's face even through the curtain.
A small giggle escaped Charlie's mouth then he slashed the knife down the left of White's face. Once, twice, thrice. Dusk watched in horror. He just froze seeing his friend being practically tortured like that. We were about on the seventh cut now. Blood covered the curtains and the sound of tearing flesh was all I could hear.
"Oh how about I show your new friend what you're trying to hide on the right side of your face?" Charlie taunted. White looked up at Charlie, weak, trembling, bleeding, and in lots of pain. Charlie opened the curtains for us to see the disgusting mess of blood and scars. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?" Dusk just about screamed at Charlie. Charlie grinned. "Vines will fix him." Charlie said calmly to Dusk.
Dusk shoved Charlie at a corner and tried stabbing him with Charlie's knife. Charlie reacted calmly, moved to the side and shoved Dusk's head into the wall and then threw it into the wall again and went back to White. "I remember what happened White. Oh how blood was everywhere!" Charlie chuckled. Blood continued to flow all over White's face, same with tears. "I guess I can see why you probably hate me now." Charlie grabbed a tissue and wiped the blood off of White's face.
I was disgusted, horrified, I can't find the words on how I felt when I saw what the scars looked like without the blood covering them all. Charlie knelt down. "Hmph. I'd bet your friends would love to see what the right half of your face looks like!" Charlie giggled. A look of pure hatred washed over Dusk. Charlie pulled the hair covering the right side of White's face away. "Why do you do this..." White rasped, seeming to use all the air in his whole body to make a small sound. There was no eye behind his hair, but some dark hollow, it almost resembled a mouth. No it was a mouth, sharp teeth, a long slender tongue. Stitches from White's mouth connected to it but there was an eye in between a spot when the stitches separated. I just realized what White meant when he said not to mind the stitches, eyes, and mouths.
Charlie grabbed White's arm and threw him out of the room and onto the wall. Dusk ran over to White as White tried to cover the right of his face again. Charlie watched amused as Dusk tried to help White stand up. "If you die on me I'm selling half of your stuff." Dusk said, trying to get White to the stairs. I watched without doing anything, I felt useless but I didn't know what to do. I followed Dusk and White down the stairs. I still was processing on how to react to the monstrosity White seemed like, but he didn't act like a monster or anything. I didn't know what to think or do now. If I pushed White down the stairs he would probably die, but why would I do that?
