Kanya Suthiluck Ruangroj was a well known professor of Art at Peiking university, in China..She was married to the famous Thai businessman, settled in China, Somwang Ruangroj. Sole heir to the Ruangroj empire, a huge franchise of multiple companies . Kanya and Somwang's marriage had been arranged by their parents..The Suthiluck family was also an equally well to do business enterprise, having their base in China. After the marriage the two empires had been merged to form a Business Giant under the new name of R.S enterprises...

Kanya was least interested in business and management. She loved nature and enjoyed traveling in her free time..she shared her knowledge of arts with the students in the university in a very friendly way, which made her a favorite among her them..She opened herself to new techniques in art and never let up an opportunity to explore new genres..

Her marriage with Somwang was satisfactory, as he never interfered in her work nor stopped her from pursuing her interests. Romance had been there in the beginning of their marriage as a novelty to her husband. Kanya failed to conceive for three years and the elders were desperate for a heir..They were forced to consult a Doctor, during which it was proven tat Somwang had issues with fertility thereby making it difficult for her to conceive..

Kanya breathed in relief when the report stated that she was healthy..She wouldn't put it past the Ruangroj family to throw her out if they had found out tat she was not capable of producing children..Being a traditional family they had to shut up, now tat her husband was at fault.

Following the tests and results the romantic novelty tat Somwang had for Kanya started to fade. They became more of bearable companions who drifted futher apart from each other each day...They lived their own lives, followed their own likes, not as much as knowing wat the other s doing. They made a name for themselves in their respective fields. Their fame reached international levels..

Following her fame, Kanya was offered a chance to be a visiting professor to teach in Kasetsart  University, Fine Arts department for two years and share her knowledge with the Thai students.. Wanting to visit the land of her ancestors and explore its beauty, Kanya accepted the offer..

With permission from her husband and in-laws she traveled to Thailand. The first time she set foot on thai soil, she felt like she had come home..she fell in love with the people, the sights and sounds of the bustling city of Bangkok. When she saw the beauty of nature in the outskirts of the city she was hooked..

One day she had taken her students to the university garden for a lesson on painting still life in different natural light settings. The students had set up their easels and were going about their work as she walked around supervising and giving them hints of techniques they could use..After sometime she felt as though someone was watching her.

She looked around. In the distance she saw , the Dean with a few distinguished looking people walking around the place, looking  around some buildings..It was in this group that a handsome man in his middle thirties was staring at her..

As Kanya looked at him their eyes met and he smiled, and gave her a wink..she blushed turning away to hide it and concentrated on her students.

After a few minutes the group had reached the garden where she was. The Dean introduced her to all the people in the entourage. She found out tat the handsome gentleman was Khoo Qin Shi , the campus director and close fren of the other gentleman Jack Rojnapat, who was a trustee of the college..

Jack was so welcoming when he spoke to Kanya, telling her that she can ask Qin shi if she needed anything during her stay..infact Qin shi was her neighbour, he said. Kanya just nodded her head and smiled politely..

Qin shi was quite taken by the exchange professor..she was a stunning beauty just like her work..he had read about her conquests in the field of art, but seeing her in person he had lost his heart..

He knew she was married, she was out of bounds, but he swore, if he had a chance he would definitely try..he had seen her blush and turn away, he just hoped it meant tat he had started something in her heart...

As Kanya walked home tat evening , she found herself stopping at the gate of her guesthouse and looking at the houses on both sides..

She wondered which one was his..she bent a little to peek into each of them but she couldn't guess which one it was..

"Are you looking for me honey?" Said a gruff whisper near her ear..she jumped at the sudden proximity of the voice turning to see the very man she had been looking for..

"No, Ahem no...I was just curious who my neighbors were." She said in a squeaky voice..

"I surely remember Jack informing you tat I was your neighbor, so I ll take it you were looking for me... May I invite you to my humble abode for a cup of tea?" He asked bowing down low..

She had no choice but to agree as refusing would have been downright impolite and she didn't want to hurt him...

So she followed him as he led her to the house on the right..It was similar to the house she was staying at..same style and planning, but his front yard had a marvelous garden including a koi pond...

She stood mesmerized taking in the beauty of the garden in the light of the setting sun..

As she stood looking and mentally planning a painting of this garden she heard someone approaching her..It was young boy around the age of 16 or 17..

"Sawadee khrap Khun P'..my name s Pei Kong..Lung says tea s ready and you can come in when you are.." he smiled..

" Thank you Pei Kong, you are such a handsome good boy to help your uncle..." she said following him inside..

Qin shi had set the table chinese style with mats on the floor for seating..there was tea and stuffed buns to go with..Kanya seated herself, folding her legs beneath her..

"Ur nephew s cute.."she told him as he poured her a cup of tea..

" I knew it..I shouldn't have sent him to call you..now u think he s cuter.."he mumbled grumpy..

Kanya laughed at Qin shi's mumbling.."Don't tell me.. ur jealous of me liking him??"

Qin shi blushed, his ears turning a bright red..making her laugh harder..

Thus the small meetings turned to full time courting where both of them ended up losing their hearts..Pei Kong had been interested in art and she ended up giving him weekend classes. He was a natural and picked up fast..

As the days went by, Kanya was a permanent fixture in Qin shi's house..Even Pei Kong started calling her Nā after a few days..and she didn't protest..Qin shi and Kanya opened up their hearts to each other baring their deepest secrets..

Kanya learnt tat Qin Shi was a bachelor, who had not found anyone worthy of marriage. He had promised his dead brother and sister in law to look after Pei Kong for them..and he honored his promise more than his life...

Qin shi learnt all about Kanya's marriage in name sake only and her husband's lack of interest in her..this renewed his hope tat he had some chance with her..

One day when Pei Kong was away on a field trip, Qin shi had invited Kanya over for dinner..the silent cool night, the delicious food, strong wine and feelings between them sparked a passion which both of them gave in to...

A month later Kanya panicked when she missed her monthly cycle by ten days..she got a home kit and did the test...

She felt her world spinning as she saw the two purple lines on the tab..Why did it have to be like this..once in life she falls in love and God had to punish her..

When Qin shi found out tat she had not come to work tat day, he had called her worrying tat she was sick. When he got a message saying that her number was switched off he went to look for her..he found her at the lake looking out into the water...

"Wats wrong Kanya??" He asked sitting down beside her..

She showed him the tab in her hand..

"Does this mean tat we are??"

"We ?? There is no 'we' here Qin..there can never be a 'we'..if my in laws find out they will not let me live." Her lower lip quivered betraying her fear..

"Hey..hey..they're not here are they?? And you don't need to keep it of u don’t want to..watever u want s all that matters.." Qin said comforting her..

" But I want to keep him.."she said in a small voice..

"How do you know it's a boy..?"Qin was surprised..

"I just know..my heart tells me so..."

"Ok if u want to keep him, we will..tell me wat I should do?"

" I ll continue teaching till the bump appears, after tat I need your help to go under cover while still letting my family think tat I am teaching here. Then after I have our baby I ll give him to you and go back.." she said trying to sound strong but her voice gave her away..

Qin pulled her to him and hugged her.."I love you with all my heart Kanya..U are the one for me, I cannot think of anyone in your place..if you ever want to leave ur husband, I will be waiting.."

"I don't think I can Qin..but if I do, you ll be the first person I look for." She confessed.."thank you for everything, thank you for loving me and giving me such fond memories.."

And so after 4 months Kanya had taken a hiatus from work, Qin covered her absence by frequently updating some news about her in the campus journal and other media so it appeared like she was still there..

During the end of her term, Kanya had panicked and wanted to deliver the baby with Qin by her side.so she traveled back to Bangkok all the way .

This journey had taken its toll on her bringing on early pains and risk of miscarriage..thankfully she was able to find a mid wife who helped her through the delivery..she gave the midwife money amd instructions regarding her son. She also mentioned about the ring which she then put in a chain around the baby's neck..

She felt weak as her bleeding increased..she sent the mid wife with the child to the orphanage knowing tat Qin would surely find him there..tat had been their agreement..

When the midwife was gone Kanya pulled herself up and dragged her feet to the nearest hospital..Some kilometers away, bleeding all the way..Once there she had collapsed at the entrance..The doctors had taken her in and treated her bleeding..she gained consciousness after two days..healing herself under a fake identity.  She had left Thailand once she was healthy, with the hope tat her son was happy with his father..

No one except Qin and Kanya knew or even guessed their relationship or feelings for each other...
