Chapter 35 - END
Warnings: Crude humour
~Vikk's P.O.V.~
Waking up in a place you weren't in before is quite disorienting. At first I panicked, knowing that wherever I was, it wasn't the cave. But when I realized I was in my own bed, in my own bedroom, my nerves calmed. Sunlight streams brightly through my window, and directly into my eyes. I groan in annoyance and push my self into a sitting position. It's only then do I realize someone is sitting in the corner of my room.
Rob is leaning up against a wall, sitting on top of my crafting bench. I assume he's there to watch me for when I wake up, but now he's fast asleep. A book is open on his lap, his hand still loosely gripping it. He looks so peaceful I almost regret doing what I do next.
"ROB!" I scream.
"VIKK!" He shouts, eyes snapping open and jolting upright, the book tumbling to the ground.
I burst out in a fit of giggles, Rob's eyes darting around to try and pinpoint me. His eyes lock onto me and he sighs in relief.
"Vikk why? Don't scare me like- wait. VIKK!"
Before I can respond Rob springs from his seat, enveloping me in a quick tight hug. He pulls back, smiling like and idiot and gripping my shoulders.
"You're awake!"
"No I'm asleep." I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
And then smile drops a bit, "Are you okay? Are you hurt? You've been out for more than a day!"
"I'm fine Robbie now go get everyone else so I can tell you about my memory."
"Oh, right!"
Rob leaps to his feet, dashing out the door and calling for everyone else. Not two minutes later everyone is streaming into my room in a bustle of commotion. A lot of hugs are sent my way, questions are shot rapid fire at me, but I don't respond, I wait until they calm down. Getting the memo the five of them start to settle down and wait patiently for me to begin, we know the drill.
"Thank you. So... I'll be comepltley honest, I'm not too sure what to make of this myself but... I'll give it a shot. *Insert Vikk's memory here*"
The air is silent as everyone stares at me blankly. I can practically see the gears turning in their heads. Lachlan opens his mouth to say what I believe to be an intelligent response, like every other time someone has recalled their memories.
"What."
"So you're telling me... The forest we woke up in is the forest where Herobrine kidnapped, knocked us out, and erased our memories? Dang..." Mitch says in disbelief.
"But... But doesn't that mean... We have to confront Herobrine?" Preston continues, "Fudge dude I don't think we stand a chance against him. I mean, it's freaking Herobrine!"
"Like seriously!" Lachlan exclaims in an agreeing manner, "I expected that we'd have like a boss fight or something but Herobrine? Really? It makes the mutants seem easy!"
The five of them continue to drop into a frenzied commotion, speaking over eachother as they baffle over the fact we have to confront Herobrine. If we can even find him. He could literally be in the farlands for all we know! Or the End... The Nether... Fudge he could even be in the Aether dimension. And we can't even get there! Opening my mouth to join the jumble of voices, I find a lack of words when an all too familiar feeling is ringing in my brain. And apparently the others feel it too because their voices fizzle out a couple seconds later. All of us exchange glances, emotions swirling in our eyes. Then without any words we get up, walk out my door, and head outside. It's hard to explain really, because going outside could mean death but still... After all we've been through it's about time se finish this off.
We silently file out the front doors, all hesitant to go but continuing none the less. I know for sure ok scared out of my wits, but I still keep walking forward, as if some unseen force is controlling me. Then in unison we stop, a good distance into the plains with no one in sight besides us. At least... For the moment. Suddenly a dark chuckle rings out through the air, surrounding us from all angles. The six of us instinctively jerk back, weapons popping into our hands.
"I must admit I am impressed by your efforts." His ominous voice rasps, causing us to tense up. "Defeating six mutants all by yourselves... And not one of you dying. Well done. Though each of you had a few... accidents if you may recall. Not only have you all been knocked out at least once but... Lachlan." Suddenly an unseen force pushes him slightly. "You were poisoned twice, you had that little breakdown there and you almost got crushed by a skeleton. Jerome," Now Jerome's being pushed. "A broken knee... Other than that you did okay... Oh but Preston, dear Preston."
"Don't call me that!" He hisses, stumbling as Herobrine invisibly shoves him.
"Being attacked by wolves, thrown many blocks into the air, your poor handsome face is now scarred, and you almost got killed by a mutant creeper... But you didn't because Rob..." A petrified Rob lurches forward "He took the hit for you. And almost died because of it... How heroic. A piece of iron lodged in between your ribs is not what I call pleasurable. And let's not forget being attacked by mobs that first night, all alone with no idea where you are... And in the Enderman fight being trapped by blocks mustn't have been fun. Which brings me to you, Mitch." Mitch is pushed and he pretty much growls. "You've taken quite a beating! Being kidnapped by none other than me... Blinded... Almost falling to your death with a broken arm... I'm surprised you're still alive. And Vikk."
A force pushes me and I trip, fear and anger battling within me. And then Herobrine lists off all the things that have happened to me. All the things that have caused me misery these months of my life. All the things he did to me. To us.
"... You even lost your hand for goodness sake. And let's not forget back in the cave..." His voice is a lot closer now. "Remember Vikk? How does it feel to be slapped by your-"
"SHUT UP!"
...
"... Getting cocky now are we? Remember who you're talking to Vikky..."
"I said shut up! Stop playing mind games and shoe yourself you coward!"
To my surprise Herobrine does just that. He appears form thin air only fifteen blocks in front of us. But I instantly regret insulting him when I see the scowl on his face.
"No one. NO ONE calls me a coward."
Suddenly a force is grabbing at my throat, it's lifting me up into the air and squeezing the air from my lungs. I make chocking noises as stars swim in front of my vision, and I desperately try to grip at my throat.
"Let him go!" Rob screeches.
He tackles Herobine and in return Herobrines grasp is released, and I fall limply to the ground. Although luckily Lachlan is there to catch me and make sure I don't fall on my face. Herobrine spits in anger, punching Rob with an inhuman strength that sends him skidding back and crashing into both Preston and Jerome. Mitch prepares to attack when Herobine cuts in.
"I guess you don't want to have the rest of your memories back... Do you?"
Mitch defiantly lowers his bow, glaring daggers at Herobrine.
"For a fool you are smart. Now you six behave, and the first thing I will do is show you what each other saw."
Before I can question his reasoning a jolt is running through my brain, and it's implanting the memories of everyone else, all within a second.
"And you six would probably like to have the rest of your memories back, yes? About your entire life?"
"We would actually..." Jerome mumbles, sounding more confused than I am.
What game is he playing at here? Is this some sort of trick? I-
*Insert all of Vikk's memories here... Ain't nobody got time for dat.*
I swear the amount of new information that flooded into my head almost killed me. I shake my head, my jaw agape as suddenly I can remember everything. My entire life. And judging by the awestruck expressions on everyone else's faces I'm assuming they're feeling similar.
"I- You- what?!" Jerome stammers, unable to from a proper sentence.
"What are you, five? I gave you your memories back. You should be thanking me." Herobrine states smugly. "And now I'm bringing the six of you, along with your horses (which were their original horses) home to your village. I've been monitoring everyone's behaviour since your disappearance... Interesting to say the least."
"B-but why? After all this... Your just going to give us out memories back like that and leave us? Without even killing us?" Rob sputters.
Herobrine doesn't answer right away. Instead a dizzying feeling overcomes me and before I know it the seven of us, with our six horses nearby, are standing in a field different to the one we were in only a few seconds ago. In the distance, about fifty blocks away, a large village stands out against the land, but it doesn't look like to many people are out. What is for certain though... Is it's the very same one from our memories.
"To answer your question my naive friend..." Herobine trails off, beginning to fade into the air. "I'm Herobrine, it's what I do."
And the last thing of him to vanish is his eyes, which linger for a moment and flash sinisterly before popping out of existence. Preston is about to say something when a gasp is heard from behind us, coming from the direction of the village.
A figure is standing there, yellow feathers covering his entire body and two sing like arms covering his beak. Two sky blue eyes widen in disbelief as his eyes lock with mine. Choco rushes forward, stopping only a few blocks away from us and glancing at us as if he might be hallucinating. Preston, Rob, Jerome, Mitch, Lachlan, and I return Choco's stare in silence until finally, in a weak and amazed voice...
"It's-its r-really you guys..."
His stance falters
"You're ba-back..."
And then he slumps to the ground, and begins weeping tears of joy.
