Today, I walked across the same bus stand where we had fought for the first time just because of a misunderstanding. You thought I was making excuses to spend time with someone else but instead, you didn't know that I was utilizing the time to give you a surprise for your birthday. Though now nothing exists between us, the incident still makes me smile at your reaction— how you were so paranoid about the fact that the person you loved was perhaps cheating on you.

Although you were still mad at me since I had not yet revealed the reason, all of your anger was washed away when I managed to surprise you on your birthday by decorating your house and calling our friends over, while you were out with your best friend as a part of the plan. Yet today, I vividly remember you shedding tears of joy when I gifted you a puppy you had always wanted but couldn't get one since you weren't sure whether you would be able to take care of it.

But knowing you since years, I was sure you would look after it as if it were your own child. And just like that, you, me and your dog had become like one happy family, just like one in the fairytales and children's books.

Never did we ever foresee that it wouldn't last forever, just like how things in reality are.
