Chapter 4
After an hour, we reach in front of a big iron rusted gate behind which a grey and white brick mansion is potruded. I cannot believe this is Role's home. It has 4 big pillars around the main house and plush green gardens and finely manicured grass magnifies the beauty as Role clicks a button on the remote he fetches out of the front cabin in the car.
The gates automatically open and I am a witness of the surreal vistace. As he drives ahead to the circular cobaltstone path, I take in as much as I can.
In the middle there is a big fountain in a shape of a lotus and its water is recycled within itself. There are even tiny fishes swimming in the artificial pond, their reflection is unimaginably visible through the clear water.
And the entire view isn't less than a boulevard, there's greenery everywhere I look apart from the house.
It exudes a medieval era vibes along with royalty. For a second I wonder if Role is some sort of prince.
While I am consumed with the nature and the workers catering to the needs of the various plants and flowers, the car immediately stops at the entrance of the house and it takes less than a few seconds for Role to take an exit and follow to my side to be a gentleman and invite me outside.
My mind reels in and I dether for a moment or two; it is then, he tugs my hand forward and I am being pulled outside the car.
"Let's get you inside, my love, I am sure everyone is dying to meet you again."
His arms envelop around my waist and he grabs me closer with suave moves I didn't see in him earlier.
With a smooth kiss of his lips on my left ear, he tries to give me comfort while my baggage gets taken away by the staff who welcome me whole heartedly.
"Hello, Hi... Hello," are the words I keep on repeat like a rap when a bunch of servants greet me so warmly. I have no option but to keep a sanguine smile plastered on my face so as to not hurt anyone's intentions.
What makes me more nervous is the presence of kids. I have no idea how to react around them.
When Role pursues me further beyond the glamourous foyer, I stop him in a hurry.
"Role, wait, I don't think I am ready to meet the kids..."
Unsurity stumbles easily in my voice which catches his attention and his brows sink deep in worry.
"I have all that figured out baby, our kids have always loved us. They know how ill their mother has been and surely know how to behave in front of you right now."
"but shouldn't I be the one who should do that? They are little kids. They are sweet and genuine at heart."
His fingers caress my chin when he turns and faces me at the same time giving me space to decide on my own. I like that he doesn't force himself on me.
"That's why they know what happened to you. They know it is difficult for their mommy right now and they also know that we 4 are a team and they are with me in this expedition to bring their mother and my wife back."
A smile unknowingly breaks on my lips at the sweet words he says to me which in turn create a rapid pulse around my heart. A sense of longing checks in and I wish I truly belong to this family.
"In that case, please bring me to them."
"that's like my wifey."
He offers me his hand, "Let's go."
After a few seconds, we enter inside the grandeur ambience of the mansion which looks no less than a heritage hotel with big crystal chandelier hanging above from the center of the ceiling that is designed in colorful tiles and abstract art. My eyes roam around the furniture and my mouth hangs open.
The rich strawberry and blood color leather sofa sets with dark black carpet throws me off guard. The rich wooden texture of the tables and chairs along with the circular stairs on the extreme right shows that maybe god is being too kind to me in exchange of the loss of memories.
And if I look from a far, I might even catch glimpes of sparkles around the niches because of the cleanliness. I doubt if there can be any amount of dust to be found anywhere.
"Uhm, are you sure this is your house?"
I point towards the first set of circular table with a big vase of orchids placed on it which is adjacent to the door to the living area we are entering right now.
The walls of the living room are white and furniture is golden and red. Role chuckles besides me and toys with his arms around my waist with a small and short whisper, "It's our kingdom, only ours."
And before I can respond to his mischevious voice that has started to send sparkles down my legs and toes and up to my core and chest, my eyes find two tiny girls sitting on the floor, completely engrossed in their own world of sketches and drawings.
When I gather to peek ahead by eloping out of Role's arms, I see the most amazing and warming mismatching images of a small family and a faint figure on paper matching with my current features. It brings a simple smile to my face and afterwards I let myself enjoy the view of the two angels out of which one is dressed in a tiny jumper and the other has a tulle around her like she's ready for her own tea party. They both have same dark curly hair and they must not be older than 5 years.
My heart warms when I feel another hit of warmth behind my back. "We made them, love. Those two angels are ours and they're drawing their fairy god mother."
I zip my look at him to find his eyes twinkle for the first time. I desperately want to believe in his words at the moment and I wanted to hold onto the truth of this reality. I think I am becoming selfish with a mere taste of this world.
"Go ahead, baby, talk to them."
His whispers never seem to end but then I know he is trying to surpise those two little angels. Their mother is back from the coma, the unspoken death, which is a miracle.
If only it was really that simple and easy.
Tapping every negative thought out the stretches of my stable and sane mind, I crouch behind them and tap their shoulders simultaneously.
As a result, I am greeted with small shreeks and tweets of those twin birds. Their soft and tuned voices make me want to live the moment fully and I do.
"Mommyy!!" the jumpsuiter shouts and tugs at my neck.
"You're back, mama!!" the little fairy comes along.
I can't help but hug them back with pure bliss of a maternal loves which kicks in me instantly.
By rubbing their backs and cooing soft words of love in their ears, my heartbeat rises and falls erratically because I am not sure if I am doing everything right or proper. I don't even know how to hold kids. I don't think I ever have had held a kid in my arm in previous life.
"go with it," Role mouths and and I nod and continue to lose myself in the embrace of two sweet kids.
"I love you mommy,"
"I missed you sho much!"
"I missed you two too my little curly heads!"
They giggle and capture me with their innocence that I don't realize Role left the room already.
Where did he go?
