Resolutions 

A new year dawned on January one

I faced the future, my resolutions done

I would be more patient and understanding

calm in demeanour and less demanding

Open to other's points of view

willing to listen to anything new

Ready to lend a helping hand

without the need of a touting band

Positive of thought, sound in deed

all these things will be my future creed

Now the next big step is to begin

to summon that resolve from deep within

To prove to myself my word is good

to change those vows from could to would

And if there's any that get missed

I'll pretend they were on last year's list
