January couplet

January's a lovely time,

Lots of heat and bright sunshine,

Water skiing on the lake,

Or lying in the sun to bake,

Fruit resplendent all around,

Landscapes with their flowers are crowned,

Shady spots to sit and read,

Under every leafy tree.

Supermarket crammed with tourists,

Visiting the glens and forests.

Fine to tend the garden weeds,

Deadhead flowers and other needs.

Visitors come streaming through,

Just to chat and see the view.

Mostly it's hot, but sometimes not,

I like January - a lot!
