Chapter 9: Unfair

I hid behind Sebastian as we neared Wyatt's house clinging on his arm for dear life. I haven't been here since the incident. Sebastian happened to be the first person I told. Wyatt had been a close friend and after what happened he tried to keep me there, but I escaped in time. He finished school and I haven't seen him since. Frankly, I'm pretty scared.

"Sebastian... you don't have to do this..." I whisper and he turns around so quickly I yelp in surprise. He lets out a low growl and sink back as he turns around, but grab his arm again afraid that Wyatt would come out any second. Sebastian swings the door open and I walk from around his shoulder to see Wyatt standing over a woman and a silver knife in his hand, it dripping with blood. I let out a scream as he lunges at me and Sebastain launches himself at Wyatt just in time before the knife reaches my chest. I watch them in horror as they roll on the ground trying to get to each other's throat and I run towards the woman laying on the floor and slump down beside her as I see she's gone. The tears fall from my eyes before I know what's happening and I'm snatched from her by Sebastian and I shriek causing him to pull me close and I slam my fist on his chest crying hysterically and finally stop as he strokes my hair.

"It's not fair..." I say looking up at him and he kisses my forehead rubbing my back.

"I know..." he whispers pulling me closer.

"I know..." he repeats quietly and I grip his shirt tightly letting my tears soak his shirt.

"Let's go home..." he whispers.
