The class I have next is Physical Ed. For the past week we were training for sprinting. This we have to change to a mystery sport that the coach will decide on. While I am in the changing rooms Rapunzel and I talk about the weekend, when all of a sudden, what feels like a bucket of ice cold water is spilt all over me.
"What the heck Iana?" I hear Rapunzel shouts with frustration. Luckily I had changed into my gym clothes.
"What, this nasty little bish earned it." Iana replies trying to mask her arrogance with and innocent expression.
"What did she ever do to you?" Rapunzel asked, clearly irritated. I take out my phone and I text Anna, she had this class but earlier on in the day.
'Hey Anna, sorry to bother you but can I borrow your gym clothes?' -Elsa
'Yeah sure let me get them.' - Anna
After a while I am greeted with a panting Anna holding out her gym bag, her hands on her knees and her back arched as she tries to regain her breath. Before I could say anything she sprints back out. I just stare weirdly at were Anna stood before she...sprinted...away...weirdly.
I quickly slip on the clothes and I'm ready for gym. Anna's clothes are clingy which I find revealing. I dunt like that. These are revealing, unlike my gym clothes that are baggy and conceal my body. I'm very...self-conscious is a way of saying it. Anna says I have a perfect body and I shouldn't hide it but I think otherwise.
"Elsa!" Rapunzel shouts
"What?" I ask. She still insists on waving her hand in my face.
"You zoned out...for like...five minutes." She states.
"Shoot! We'll be late!" I say, a little too loudly for my liking. We sprint to the hall where I see a badminton net set up. What?
"Okay class, I'm going to sort you into two teams, I want you to stretch and then prepare, for a big game of dodgeball." Coach Pocahontas says. Oh no!
Rapunzel and I are on the same team, luckily. It was the girls' day off last week so today it's the boys'. They are sitting on the ascending benches on the side of the hall. I stare across at my opponents to meet stares with a girl, her eyes, a shining shade of violet, and her black, shoulder length hair, threaded with different coloured highlights...Iana. One hand rests on her hip while her other hanging by her side, her face stern while she is backed up with her posse. I glance over to my team. We have some sporty girls but none acknowledging her glares.
"Just ignore them." Rapunzel softly says while placing a hand upon my shoulder.
"Who?" I ask. She giggles a little.
"Not who, what?" She asks in an amusing way.
"How can I, she has most of the school on her side and she's about to cuck balls at me soon." I reply with worry. I don't want to know what she can do.
"Let the game begin!"
Balls are flying both ways and my opponents all have a death glare masking their faces. Their eyes focused and ready to pounce. I chase after a runaway ball and I chuck it with all my might.
"OWW!" I hear. A shriek that could burst my ears. I see one of Iana's friends on the floor holding her nose. Oh no...Iana is going to destroy me. She whispers something to her posse, well, what's left of it. They grab a ball each and they aim for their target...me. They eventually let go. I shut my eyes, waiting for the impact. But it never came. Strange, I heard the balls bouncing of something. I slowly open my eyes to see the scene. But instead of seeing the scene I see; Jack. He is looking at me sincerely, a small smile on his face, with his arms wrapped around my waist, only then do I realise how small I am, I'm only shoulder height compared to him. He slowly lets go, checking to see if I have any injuries.
"You were playing great." He whispers into my ear. He turns around to face a cowering Iana and posse.
"What do you think you're doing?!" He shouts. His voice is pretty damn loud. Even coach Pocahontas is cowering. I glance over at Rapunzel who nods and quickly scurries over to me, gently grabbing my arm and guiding me out of there. Before I leave I quickly walk up to Jack.
"Please don't hurt them." I whisper. I am worried about what he will do to her. Rapunzel and I leave to go to the changing room. He doesn't care about the 'guys can't hit girls' rule. He and Rapunzel made my life a misery by beating the snowflakes out of me and that was for no reason. Can you imagine what he would do if he had one. After fully changing, Rapunzel and I scurry off to our next class, drama. We take a seat in the back, where I usually sat, alone. The bell rings and the class filters in, still no sign of Jack. The rest of the 'big 4 boys' are siting with us, Flynn is chatting to Rapunzel, Merida who came from Chemistry along with Hiccup. They are all so happy. They basically have nothing to worry about. They have it easy...life I mean. If only my parents didn't die; how would my life be? Take a look at their eyes, alive and ready. Look at mine, alone and empty. Look at their hands, soft and probably with a manicure, they don't have to worry about ruining it; they've never had a hard day's work in their life. I feel...out of place. I don't belong with them. I belong as the nerd who not only has a timetable for classes but a timetable being a personal punching bag. I belong as the weak girl who works, all through her past to have a safe future; to be the girl smiling like there's no tomorrow while receiving a diploma or whatever I earned at the stage in my outfit. All they have to worry about if to be popular and look pretty. I glance back at the group in front of me. I don't belong here. I want to be free, and be who I am; without hurting anyone. I silently stand without them noticing and I wander off. I set my eyes on downcast as I reach the school library. This is my trustworthy source. The place where I can be myself. I walk to the nearest bookshelf to pick up a random book. I glance at the book. The title looks alarming. Almost as if it was trying to tell you something.
'Remember, Remember' (The tales of December). This book is written to capture the point of love. Of romance. The main characters in this book spent years as enemies, but what happens if that changes; what would happen if they realise they had fallen into each other's traps. Would it result in a love story or a trail of broken hearts?
Wow. I am so reading this. While the author of this book was able to capture my attention, reality could not. The bell rang, awaking me from my peaceful atmosphere and making me panic realising that I'll be late for class. I finally reached the door after a couple minutes of rambling to myself. I quietly open the door only to be greeted by a sea of eyes.
"Miss Delle, why are you late to class?" Mr Benedict asks.
"I'm very sorry, Mr Benedict I was reading in the library but-"
"What were you reading?" Mr Benedict interrupts.
"The origins of science." I reply, hoping that he didn't catch me bluffing. I look around the walls observing the hand drawn posters by the chemistry class in the year below.
"You may take your seat." He replies. I look around to see a free seat near the bookcase at the back. As I go to sit there a boy quickly gets there before me. I feel a hand drag me to another seat by the window. I'm thankful I was given a seat but that seat was empty. I look back to the person who dragged me. I notice the familiar white bed hair and I immediately halt, causing him to halt too.
