Dream’s eyes were in slits as he ran, green eyes focused on the portal out of the end. Yelling and blood-curdling screams of endermen filled the air, clashing of swords and the dumping of water buckets making Dream’s body tense as he ran to safety. In his arms was a wailing enderman hybrid like himself, his mismatched green and red eyes squeezed shut tightly as he gripped onto his older brother. “Shh, it’s gonna be ok, I promise Boo.” He didn’t know if he was trying to calm the child down, or himself. He was terrified, scared that he and his little brother were going to die. He didn’t understand what was happening, it was supposed to be a normal day for the ten-year-old.

His mother was going to take him out to pick decorations for his birthday party, his birthday party that was only days away. He couldn’t help the small tears that left his eyes, a quiet sizzle starting at the act. Finally, the end portal connecting the overworld and end could be seen, many others having the same idea and making their way to it as well. He wished mother and father had come with them, instead of staying and fighting, but once those two had their hearts set on something it was hard to get them to listen. “Just take your brother and go! We’ll find you once we get rid of these intruders.” So, now Dream was pushing his way towards the portal, green eyes never leaving the exit. He had to push his way through, grunting as others also shoved him around. Finally, he had made it to the exit, staring down at it with scared eyes.

“Ok, this is fine- yep.” Holding his breath he jumped off the edge, holding his little brother closer as he plummeted down into the galaxy-looking portal. It spat him back out, himself landing on the ground with a thud, groaning as his shoulders pain. It didn’t take him long to hear more yelling though, and now even crying.

“The portal! Why is the portal closed?!” The enderman hybrid’s eyes shot open at that, looking over his shoulder to see the portal seemed dimmed, looking a gray color. Other enders kept coming out though, only meeting their kins frantic yelling.

“It’s closed! We can’t go home! What are we going to do?!” The worlds seemed to still for the young hybrid, realization filling his eyes.

They wouldn’t be able to go home.

Four Days Later. . .

Puffy had a bag slung over her shoulder as she made her way to the end portal, torch in hand as she made her way down the maze of tunnels. Her goat ears twitched as she looked around, trying to remember the proper way to the end portal. Her green eyes skimmed the walls, looking for the markers she had left the last time she was here. The goat hybrid smiled when an etched ‘P’ was seen on the wall. Puffy knew she was going the right way now, following the ‘P’’s to the end portal the rest of the way. Relief filled when she saw it, making her way into the room and setting her bag down for a moment.

The hybrid was going to take a little break, seeing as she walked all the way to the portal, wandering around unsure exactly where to go for a little. But when her eyes met the usually black galaxy of stars, her heart stopped. Why was it gray? Dead looking even? A hiss filled the air, her face turning pale as she whipped around, pulling her sword out of it’s sheath. Puffy expected to see an angry enderman, or even another mob that wandered into the room to attack her, what she wasn’t expecting was seeing a ender hybrid CHILD hissing threateningly at her, green eyes in slits, and black claws flexing as if he was ready to pounce at her.

Puffy pierced her lips, taking in more of the child’s features, seeing he had splotches of what looked like green freckles over his nose, and the green horns placed ontop of his head almost hidden by his curly white hair. He wore a normal green hoodie, some black jeans, and boots, no weapons in sight. “Kid, what are you doing here?” She didn’t get an answer, or at least not one she could understand.

“☌⟒⏁ ⏃⍙⏃⊬! ⌿⌰⟒⏃⌇⟒! ☌⍜ ⏃⍙⏃⊬!” She quickly moved out of the way when the ender hybrid finally started attacking, though he seemed to have been trying to get the other away from the portal. It only confused Puffy more, why was this kid not talking in English?

“Kid- hey stop!” She yelled, jumping away from the other as he charged at the goat hybrid.

“☌⍜ ⏃⍙⏃⊬!” Again with the unknown language. She didn’t even think this kid understood her, so her yelling ‘stop’ at this point was fruitless. Puffy had to think, how could she get the other to stop attacking her? At first she was looking for a weak spot on the white-haired kid, but then her green eyes saw behind the other hybrid. Watching with fearful eyes was an even YOUNGER ender hybrid, staring at the older and seeming to be on the verge of tears. He looked like a toddler, splotchy black and white spots covering his face, and big red and green eyes glistening with unshed tears, he had a split black and white tail as well, curled around him as he held himself. He wore a purple hoodie, black jeans, but no shoes. Puffy frowned, her gaze lingering on the toddler.

The older hybrid looked over towards the other, Puffy thinks sibling, and hissed at the goat hybrid. The next thing she knew, Puffy was on the ground holder her cheek, and a pissed-off-looking ender hybrid towering over her. “Hey, I’m sorry ok? I- why are you guys here anyways?” Puffy really wanted to know what was happening, but part of her knew an answer would never be provided. The boy’s eyes glared down at her, his hands balling in the process.

“Leave, p-please.” Puffy’s eyes widened, this boy could talk in English, and wasn’t the ENTIRE time she was trying to communicate with him! Even if he seemed not the best at it, he still could have said something. As much as it annoyed her, she knew he probably felt more comfortable in that language, even if it irked her that the other wasn’t speaking in her own tongue that she KNEW he understood.

“I can’t, your kids. What are you doing here anyways?” Puffy made her voice soft, hoping to get an answer out of the ender hybrid.

“Waiting.” Waiting? Puffy raised a brow at that.

“What are you waiting for?” The white-haired male looked towards the portal, her eyes growing wide with realization once again.

“F-Famil-e.” He stumbled with the word, but Puffy understoodod what he was trying to say.

“You're waiting for your parents?” He nodded, looking back towards the goat hybrid. He nodded, even if he was hesitant at first. Puffy felt her heart ache, green eyes filling with sympathy. How long have they been down here, waiting for their parents? “How long have you been down here?” The ender hybrid looked like he was deep in thought, debating if he should answer or leave that question unanswered.

“I no know.” Puffy frowned.

“Well, it has to have been a while, right?” The white-haired kid glared at the other as she spoke. Now, the goat hybrid felt intimidated, which was laughable since this was a kid. He slowly nodded. “Maybe, you should come with me then.” Her words were cautious as she spoke.

“NO! I STAY!” The goat hybrid’s brows furrowed at his words, herself getting off the ground as she looked over towards Ranboo.

“It’s not safe for you or your little brother to stay, it’s better if you come with me.” She tried to reason with the ender hybrid, but his once calm green eyes quickly turned back into slits.

“NO!” Again, he was slashing at her, trying to herd her out of the portal’s room, his eyes seemed frantic as he did so. Puffy turned her attention to her bag, the one laying near the portal’s stairs. She didn’t want to hurt the kid, but she knew that this hybrid wasn’t going to listen to reason. She could see how tired he seemed, his attacks seemed sloppy, but also gave away they have been down here for a long time. That worried her, so, for their own good she had to knock the other out. Puffy started making her way back into the room, dodging the white-haired kid’s attacks as she did, eventually they got there, herself reaching out for her bag, but quickly the ender hybrid tackled the other, trying to knock Puffy off her feet. She braced herself, quickly pushing the kid off, and watching in horror as he flew back, stumbling and falling onto the stairs, and hitting his head. As if on cue, the little toddler in the corner started crying, their eyes focused on the older hybrid as tears finally started dripping down his face, sizzling filling the room.

Puffy made her way to the crying child quickly, She picked the crying hybrid up trying to calm the child down. Looking back to the now unconscious boy on the stairs, she didn’t know what to do. “What have I done…”
